I suspect it goes up the more exciting your pet makes the visit. Note: hours are limited. Decor is circa late 70s; the building is elderly but maintenance seems adequate and probably budget-draining. Usually clean. No distressing odors in any area. B) Staff is informative and understands? Yes, with caveats; speak clearly, don't shout; either the acoustics are lousy or they are sometimes too distracted to listen - or both. Likewise, listen carefully, ask if something seems unclear. My confusion on a recent issue was cleared up quickly and without genocide. C) Supportive? Mostly. See B. D) Doctor? One. Competent, reserved but thawed after repeat visits. Has sense of humor and steady hands, even after a pet has a panic attack. No idea how he manages panicky owners. E) Location? 11th Street, not far from Benson Stone. Entry is a little tight, but with enough parking out back. No observable, car-eating potholes or axlebrakers, relatively unlittered. Wish I could say that about the surrounding streets. a week ago New Do not…read moretake your animals to this vet. Mine was dead within 3 months because of their negligence. Took my dog here in May with suspected seizures. But also had a weird cough/breathing issue. The tech(could not find picture on their website so I don't know who it was) did not like my dog and kept making snide remarks, I offered to muzzle her and they did not have me do that. She is anxious and just needs a caring and loving staff. The last comment that made me angry was when I overheard her telling the vet that "of course she coughs she barks like a maniac, having that kind of dog back there a 2nd time puts the entire staff at risk" I confronted her saying she coughs all the time, not just when she barks. She was rude, gave me a dirty look and only apologized when my husband got there. My dog came back from chest X-rays and the other tech went on about how sweet and loving my dog was. So I know she was behaving back there. Dr. Damman comes back and says he saw a blip but he thinks she must have moved during the X-ray and so he diagnosed her with a brain tumor, based off symptoms. They didn't want to help my dog. He just shoved seizures meds, discouraged us from seeking a specialist with talks of the THOUSANDS it's gonna cost me and that nothing that can be done for brain tumors. It would only give my dog another year tops. He said Take her home, give her these meds(phenobarbital) to help her, and enjoy the time you have left. The meds were absolutely awful and the longer she took them the worse she got. I called up there 3 times before the vet got back to me and he left a voicemail saying that I should bring her in to "evaluate quality of life". That was it. I called Hononegah animal hospital and Dr. Adas and staff were so great with my dog. My dog loved them. They could tell it was just anxiety and her being very protective over me so they asked me to step out and they just did the exam one on one and she did a phenomenal job. They started weening her off the meds and switching to something else. Which made my dog act completely normal again. A few weeks go by and She started swelling, so we took her back in to Dr. Adas, the issue was that the blip in the Xray was not from movement, it was early heart failure. Had it been caught by Brookside in May it could have been managed and treated with medication. But it had unfortunately progressed too far by this time. The fluid in her heart was leaking into her abdomen . We took her home, scheduled an in home euthanasia and spent 1 last week with our girl. August 17th 2024 was the last time I got to see the best girl. I am still completely heartbroken. My kids are still devastated. My home will never be the same. I should have left a review much earlier to help other families. But I wasn't ready to write it all out. There are a lot more details than this but I only have so many characters to leave a review. And unfortunately I can't leave less then a 1 star review. I hope that if you choose to take your pet to Dr. Damman and his crap tech, that they don't kill your family with their incompetence.

Marilyn has not used her paw since this visit and I assume that something was dislodged during palpation. I found Dr. Boonstra to be rough with my fragile, 4.5 lb little cat lady, not competent and unwilling to provide rationales for expensive procedures. And all of this after a 50 minute wait! The medical director, Dr. Sanderson, has refused to even acknowledge that Dr. Boonstra could have harmed Marilyn, let alone offer remedial action. There is no professional accountability in this clinic and even Marilyn's medical records were inaccurate. I am heartbroken and deeply upset that a visit intended to help a fragile, elderly cat instead resulted in further injury and suffering. Marilyn spent nearly two decades surviving outdoors before I rescued her; she deserved gentleness, caution, and thoughtful care in her final years.

We recently adopted a 15 yr. old Chihuahua to give her a home for her old age, and again, we didn't know where to go. So I picked Alpine Vet Hospital because of reviews. I asked for DR. Sanderson. We have had Goldie there twice so far. I am pleased with the DR. he explains everything to us and is very nice to Goldie. The lady,Brenda at the front desk is so nice also.

We have had our 2 yorkies spayed here and I will be making another appointment to spay the third one. The doctor my dog was seeing, drove in on a Saturday afternoon to x-ray my yorkie. (I thought she'd broken a leg!) fortunately it was just her muscles. They have anti flea for sale but its costly, so they happily recommended another brand that was more affordable but still good quality. Yay for paws!

He is not available every day but on the days he is here and available for appointments, we have always had great customer service and our dog has gotten excellent care. They offer many services from normal checkups to teeth cleaning, and also have a wide variety of medication available. There are a few employees that have been a little short with me in the past but I don't think they work there anymore. Most everyone now is super friendly and awesome. Would highly recommend!!
