People who work here care for life and care for you and for those in real need. I was homeless living with my dog in my van, and they very kindly help me out by giving me good advice. Let me know they can put me on a waiting list to take my dog in but in the meantime, they gave me some food so I can get by with my dog and I'm so very thankful for that. I've been there before to look at animals and there's a lot of very nice people here who donate third time and I feel like these yelp ratings are not reflecting the five star establishment that I think this place is and the people that run it they're good people it's a good place. This is I think a great place to find a pet that's in need of a home so trust me trust them be open minded bring your best Attitude of gratitude, and forget about the rest. read more

It I could give a zero I would but here is my experience Ok so there is a group of fosters who are not getting what is promised. Animals needs are being provided by the fosters not happy tails despite fundraising for these animals.. Vet care is scarce and happy tails has refused to provide it for more than one animal. They misrepresent animals that are being fostered and even adopted pets. Communication isn't a strong suit for them and when communication is had it's talking circles refusing to assist gaslighting belittling people even cursing at people. I have seen proof of all of these things. Happy tails REFUSES to take back any dog that is surrendered to animal control that was once theirs. Animal Control went from no kill back to euthanizing,partly because lack of support from happy tails on their previously adopted dogs. Now, I will tell you my story with pertinent details. Happy Tails, we started fostering a set of sisters in January 2025, they were in a kill shelter down south. At the time I inquired about fostering I was assured all medical food and any other needs would be provided by them. I was also reassured that both girls were "fixed". About a month ish later dog "A" goes into heat. I reached out to the shelter with no response. So I decided to take my unaltered male into get neutered to try and avoid an accidental pregnancy. Unfortunately due to unforseen complications from surgery I lost my dog. About two weeks later I noticed dog "A" could potentially be pregnant. I contacted the shelter the director told me they could do a pregnancy test. Days turned into weeks with no response from the shelter. In fact dog "a" was pregnant. During the duration of pregnancy I NEVER heard from the shelter never received help for the pregnant dog. My family supplied all of the extras ( whelping materials food vitamins etc). We were in contact with our local animal control during this time because the shelter didn't have records for dog (a). The shelter director dodged their calls. Department of Ag got involved which then notified them that dog (a) had the puppies. Since then the shelter director has made threats of legal action by contacting our local animal control asking her to come to our house and ask we give the shelter the "puppies". Animal control was not on board with that considering they never returned her phone calls about the situation with paperwork for dog (a). She reached out directly to me very vaguely when the pups were about 4 weeks old. She waited 30 days then messaged me again about their shots and spay/neuter. They are all vetted but not fixed due to vets recommendations. Now on to dog (b) she came to us very timid and very anxious. I expected that but forward almost three months later I asked the shelter if we could get her assessed by a trainer or seen by a vet because she was displaying concerning behaviors (not able to follow commands, refused to sit, always backed in a corner) they refused to have her evaluated. My husband finally took her to the vet on our time and dollar. She was physically ok thankful but she did require medication for anxiety. We reached out to the shelter for reimbursement for the vet visit. ( contract states medical care will be provided by them). A couple weeks of my husband hounding them with very little progress, she messages back stating can I just give you the girls and be out of it all together. I gladly excepted the offer as I loved the girls and dog (b) had started flourishing. I signed the adoption papers for dog (b) we inquired about dog (a's) adoption paperwork. We were shut down, she told us she couldn't adopt out a unaltered female which from word of mouth from former affiliates is not true if you sign a spay contract it's allowed. This was all brought in front of the board and apparently their "president" doesn't want to be involved in adoption or fostering aspects. Board members found this unethical due to the abundance amount of evidence my husband and I have. This director is bringing animals in from all over the US. Rude rude rude with a dose of attitude. Told I wouldn't be charged for something and I was. When questioning the charge I was asked what was the big deal? $80 is a big deal on a budget. Never saw the vet. Don't even know what the place looks like on the inside. When I asked to speak with a manager this rude young girl with an attitude told me she was the best I would get. If she is the face of the company they can keep her. I will never go back there. To be fair to the vet the surgeries look well done. no complaints there. read more

The Operations Manager needs to learn some "people" and customer service skills. Does not seem to really know how to run a facility of this nature. I've dealt with several mistakes they have made. It's too bad because they do offer low cost services but Ive had many issues with them. Giving my one cat 2 rabies shots within a month. Also, releasing a feral cat I trapped and it ran away. You never actually see or speak to a vet because you have to stay in the parking lot still! Most places have lifted Covid restriction at this point. Hope they do a better job running the shelter portion than they do running the vet clinic portion! read more

Dr. Johnson and Don at happy tails saved my baby this morning. My rambunctious husky (Rebel) got loose, and was wandering for around 12 hours. He was found, luckily! Unfortunately he received a really decent laceration to his abdomen/chest. But thankfully these two were able to preform emergency surgery and help us out! The staff were very friendly, helpful and understanding. I called to see if we could be seen, as our normal vet was not any help to us today. Within minutes we were at Happy Tails, we were in a room, and 5 minutes later doc was gloving up to fix Rebel. Thank you SO SO MUCH Doc & Don!! I highly recommend Happy Tails ! read more

I have been taking my 2 dogs here for over this last year and I have always had a great experience. My dogs have gotten vaccines, allergy shots and had their teeth cleaned under anesthesia, when they had that service available. My dogs are very high energy and Dr. Johnson and the male vet tech are wonderful and take very good, quality care of my babies! Dr. Johnson is very knowledgeable and a caring Veterinarian. Everyone there is nice and attentive. I am grateful for the excellent care and service and lower cost pricing! read more
