I had taken Willow to Mr. Zion Small Animal Clinic three months earlier. Dismissed my concerns about my fourteen year old dog. Repeatedly told them she had lost weight SUDDENLY. Made fun of me and told me to "feed her more food". [Lydia-the-Tattooed-Lady and Kirstin were more interested in being BFFs and mocking a 70 year old woman's serious concerns than they were about my poor Willow.] Three months later they wanted 375.00 to euthanize her. Told me legally they had to do an exam to determine she was ill enough to euthanize (THERE IS NO SUCH LAW!!!). The level of disrespect for me and disregard for my beloved pet was mind numbing.

There are so many pets it could be 3 times bigger and they would still be busy. It turns out we have to be more attentive when checking what our pets health is doing by checking ,diet and keeping an eye on them, they can't tell us they don't feel good till its bad. She turned out ok thank god. Ive had 5 dogs in the last 70 years but wouldn't trade their love for anything. The amount of emotion these people see and still try their best is more than I could do. I pray for all the pet owners and hope we can get more places like this, and I'm looking into helping with the out side services that can help those who can't afford it. Let me know they can put me on a waiting list to take my dog in but in the meantime, they gave me some food so I can get by with my dog and I'm so very thankful for that. I've been there before to look at animals and there's a lot of very nice people here who donate third time and I feel like these yelp ratings are not reflecting the five star establishment that I think this place is and the people that run it they're good people it's a good place. The entire staff at Carlson's is exceptionally nice, and my daughter and I are slowly, slowly getting our very famous and headstrong beagle to be more focused, and slightly less ridiculous. The training could not be better, and the trainers are incredibly patient with us. I can't recommend them enough to anyone thinking of seeking dog training. The doggy socialization alone makes this a very worthwhile endeavor; the expert training staff makes it a bargain.

One was even compassionately euthanized at this facility. During COVID, when I was caring for a sick person in Virginia, they made an emergency appointment for the dog so she could be transported to Virginia. (The caregiver had allergies and had developed anaphylaxis to the dog. Almost ended up in the ER.) Latest example -- Buddy, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel needed his second round of vaccinations. But he had again been scratching his ears, more recently until he whined. So, another ear infection. Ok. Took care of that, too. Follow up appointment set up for final vaccination. Everything taken care of. Of course, Buddy was spoiled by staff, treated well. He loves the veterinary clinic. Could not ask for more from a vet clinic.
