I have never had such a frustrating experience with an insurance company. I called Freeway Insurance simply to change my deductible because my auto loan company notified me that my coverage was considered deficient and I was at risk of being force-placed into an additional $255 insurance policy. What should have been a simple request turned into a nightmare. I was hung up on SIX different times while trying to get assistance. When I originally called to update my policy after trading in my car, I was told I had to cancel my existing policy and start an entirely new one. This resulted in me having to pay an additional $750 just to keep coverage in place, on top of my regular payment that was due only two weeks later. The process and costs were never clearly explained. To make matters worse, I received notices in the mail stating that my policy was missing required vehicle photos. However, when I contacted customer service, they could clearly see that the photos had already been submitted and simply uploaded them to my policy themselves. So why was I being threatened with issues over documents they already had? The lack of communication, repeated disconnections, conflicting information, and overall disorganization caused unnecessary stress and wasted hours of my time. Insurance is supposed to provide peace of mind. Instead, dealing with Freeway Insurance has been one of the most aggravating customer service experiences I've ever had. So my experience with Freeway Insurance has been terrible. It may not be this particular office, but so far the 2 that I've dealt have the poorest customer service. They're very good at finding an affordable insurance policy, but once they closed the deal you are ghosted. 2 brokers from 2 different offices have ghosted me. I currently have a problem with the new policy that I just switched to and haven't been able to the broker, Micaila on the phone and I've been calling her for over a week. As soon as I can I will be switching companies because the brokers at Freeway are just about selling you a policy and making commission instead of building relationships and having a lifelong customer. read more

I went to Freeway Insurance on June 19, 2025, and was told to pay $433 as a deposit for my auto insurance policy. I was never informed that most of that amount--over $230--would be taken as a broker fee and other hidden charges. Only $198.18 actually went toward my policy. I wasn't allowed to review or sign anything before paying. The entire process felt rushed and shady. I've filed a complaint with the Department of Insurance and BBB. Be careful--ask questions before handing over a dime. read more

Do not use this company! Go without insurance first. We might as well have. We got a full coverage car insurance policy for our daughter. She was the victim of a hit and run, and they said our policy covers uninsured motorist, not hit and run. Then when we wanted to cancel, they said we have to do it in person. And the idiot on the phone gave us two locations that were closed. We had to drive three cities away and it's closed. Stay away from these clowns!!! read more

I paid what I wanted to pay originally so I got full coverage, tire hazard, roadside assistance for a great price. Too bad I had to give 1 star. I walked in and wasn't greeted until a minute in. I was told that I'd be helped in 5 minutes. Waiting in the most uncomfortable chairs ever, I listened to the employee speak in Spanish to someone over the phone for 15 minutes about health insurance.
