I have never had such a frustrating experience with an insurance company. I called Freeway Insurance simply to change my deductible because my auto loan company notified me that my coverage was considered deficient and I was at risk of being force-placed into an additional $255 insurance policy. What should have been a simple request turned into a nightmare. I was hung up on SIX different times while trying to get assistance. When I originally called to update my policy after trading in my car, I was told I had to cancel my existing policy and start an entirely new one. This resulted in me having to pay an additional $750 just to keep coverage in place, on top of my regular payment that was due only two weeks later. The process and costs were never clearly explained. To make matters worse, I received notices in the mail stating that my policy was missing required vehicle photos. However, when I contacted customer service, they could clearly see that the photos had already been submitted and simply uploaded them to my policy themselves. So why was I being threatened with issues over documents they already had? The lack of communication, repeated disconnections, conflicting information, and overall disorganization caused unnecessary stress and wasted hours of my time. Insurance is supposed to provide peace of mind. Instead, dealing with Freeway Insurance has been one of the most aggravating customer service experiences I've ever had. I would not recommend Freeway Insurance based on my experience. read more

Garbage insurance company. I was new to insurance so I thought it was the norm for them to charge a $300 fee to start a policy (it isn't). They charge you to switch cars ($100) and their customer service is AWFUL. I would actually dread calling them. DO NOT GET THIS INSURANCE. I had just basic liability and was paying almost $100 a month. Switched to GEICO, payed $100 and had coverage across the board. If your young and new to insurance, skip freeway, you'll thank me. THEIVES!!! TOOK DOUBLE THE PAYMENTS FROM ME THIS MONTH AND WONT GIVE IT BACK. I made my monthly payment over the phone. Got a call a little later stating the payment hadn't gone through so they needed to run it again. My husband said "we better not get double charged." They assured him we would not be double charged. WE WERE DOUBLE CHARGED. THEY STOLE FROM US. They said we should just let them keep the money THAT THEY STOLE FROM US and skip next months payment. HOW ABOUT THAT MONEY WAS FOR GROCERIES GIVE IT BACK NOW YOU THEIF. They said if they send it back it will take 30 days and our next payment will be due by then. I was recommended to Freeway insurance and they made the process so easy and affordable to set up the policy, They did a good job at explaining insurance and Ill keep referring people to them ! I had a little accident and the car left I wasn't sure what would happen so I drove my vehicle to a freeway office wich he was also working at and he looked at it and assured me that it was fine and he explained to me what will happen and it helped me out a lot its good to know people care to explain to you a process that will help you out in the long run. I've always had free lock outs rescues with my insurance card it was very easy to get that done and also free towing it depends on what you would want to pay for and works best for you ! Awsome ! Please understand that if I could give them no stars I would. *as you can see by my reviews this is not the first time I've had an issue with a freeway insurance, and all my other reviews are 5 star. I hate leaving bad reviews but you should all BEWARE!! The short story; 1. Lied about down payments and my actual due date to pocket extra money without putting the money toward my actual insurance. 2. Offered no resolution via corporate in the matter. 3. Forged paperwork and lied about that as well. 4. Please if you go here READ PAPERWORK THOROUGHLY no matter what they tell you it says! 5. Watch the broker fee closely!! it is always negotiable and they will play you about it. The longer story: I had a policy through freeway for almost a year and as it was coming to an end I got a call from their broke Michelle Hernandez with what I thought initially was a great deal. I was currently paying almost $300 and the new policy would have been only $225. Also the last payment I had for my current policy was $383 and she said I could put that down as the new policy's down payment instead. So needless to say I was stoked about saving money. I am a very busy woman and sometimes I can be a little distracted, they completely took advantage of that when I trusted them to be honest and helpful. When I went in to make the changes she switched up the terms and said to keep my payment low I would have to pay $250 more dollars. I balanced it out in my head and decided it would still be worth the savings so I payed the extra. She also stated that my payments monthly would be on the 17th and I quickly realized that would not be the case checking my policy online. I called the office back at least 3x to triple check the payment date and they assured me it was the 17th(3x!!). After not paying it the 6th(when it was actually due) because I was ill informed I got a cancellation notice. I called freeway and was left on hold forever. So I called the insurance directly. They told me the deposit was only $242 and always only that amount. I found out quickly Michelle changed my deposit last minute to pocket the extra money. I then called corporate and got no resolution but the fact that I was now past due and that all of the money payed (a little over $600) was non refundable what so ever. They completely played me by telling lies and writing the paperwork in such a way to support those lies. They also offered no help at all in the resolution. read more

I called them and they could not find any info on WTF!!! Their business practices are misleading and disgusting. Definitely don't apply for automatic withdrawal or they may never stop taking your money. I went into this place on my way to foodsco next door and im so happy i did. I was confused as to why i was paying so much for my car insurance through Nation Wide so when i walked in i was greeted by a very polite young lady Michelle ( I couldn't catch her last name) and she told me she would be right with me. I waited for about 10 minutes and it was worth that wait. Michelle helped me figure out what i needed as far as coverage for my 2 cars and locked me into a better rate. She helped me understand what i was paying for and what my deductibles were going to be in case i ever got into an accident. This was the first time that i had walked into an insurance office and did not feel like i was getting ripped off. I highly recommend you come in to the office and check them out and see Michelle because she was very helpful. read more

Very disturbing to listen to the way my mother was treated by their staff. They took advantage of her because she was alone during this entire process, but I can assure them that she is not. They took her for $387.90 and are refusing to reimburse her the full amount...it took alot of phone calls from her and alot of humiliation and taunting from them, just to get $128 back. It started like this. They canncelled the insurance she had for another to supposedly place her in a better one, but they put her in one that wasn't covering the needs that was required by the finance company, This was discovered by the finance company. So when she called to cancel, FWY Ins. Advised her thst they could only put her in one that was much higher..keep in mind, she has no accidents, has been a safe driver for over 35 years. Anyways, to me this sounds like a scam, and the other conplaints I've read on here were similar...didn't surprise me..they need to be shut down. Which helped me a lot because there was a lot of things I didn't know. The service was fast and I didn't feel like she was just trying to sell the product but that she really wanted what was best for me if anything was to happen if I were to get into an accident. I have been struggling with my vehicle situation for a long and car insurance has been put on the "back burner" for the longest time. I thought that I was unable to afford car insurance until I walked into the office and was helped by a friendly face with a great personality. The employee that helped me was Alejandro Hernandez. I went into the office focused and ready to bargin for the best offer but Mr. Hernandez was easy to talk to and made me feel relaxed throughout the whole business transaction. This place is a rip off. They are brokers so they charge off the wall prices to find you another insurance company and on top of that they are very unprofessional. I bought insurance from them because I needed insurance fast, they charged me 306 dollars just for liability insurance. I found cheaper and better insurance through 21st century and canceled my insurance from freeway not even 24hrs of purchasing the insurance. I told them I would like my money back because I had found better insurance so the agent that I talked to told no problem and that I would receive my refund in the mail as a check in about a month when I paid with my card? So a few weeks went by and they kept calling me on the phone about my canceled policy and I informed that I already knew it was canceled because I canceled it. Well they went and took more money out of my account and when I tried to call and talk to a manager they would hang up on me. Long story short do not go through freeway insurance they are scam artists that just take your money. read more
