The signed…read morecontract included surface preparation, stucco application, stone installation, mantle/hearth detailing, finishing, final touch-ups, and cleanup. Some of the initial stonework looked good, and I complimented the work during the project. Unfortunately, serious issues arose after the hearth slabs were installed. The hearth slab installation did not match the approved rendering/design, and all four hearth slab pieces had issues, including poor cuts/joints, visible gouges/scrapes, and a visible front-edge chip that was filled with mortar instead of being properly corrected. These were not natural stone variations, veining, or normal imperfections. The slabs were damaged during handling and/or installation. After I requested replacement/correction, Hector eventually agreed that the damaged hearth stone would be replaced. After that, communication deteriorated and the company did not return to complete the correction or the remaining contracted work. Tello Stone Work & Concrete later told me they did not want to finish the project, even though we had a signed contract covering the remaining work, including stucco application, finishing, final touch-ups, and cleanup. They also stated that stucco was not part of the original quoted scope, even though the signed contract specifically included stucco application. The project was left incomplete, cleanup was not completed, and I was left with a damaged/problematic hearth, unfinished stucco work, delays, stress, and the added cost of finding another contractor willing to complete/correct partially completed work. The company offered a full refund of my $1,800 deposit, but later stated they would only refund it if I allowed them to remove/demolish installed stone/materials from my fireplace. I did not agree to allow demolition or removal because of the risk of additional damage to the existing structure/fireplace. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Tello Stone Work & Concrete for a detailed custom finish project. I have photos, the signed contract, emails, and text messages documenting my experience.

They say they will communicate with you every step of the way through the build process. This is not true. Getting any information from the project manager was like pulling teeth. He or the office did not listen to me when I explained the permit requirements in Denton County for the culvert. and this caused a nearly 90 day delay in completion because they weren't prepared for it. The Project Manager Lied and at one point requested a preliminary walk through. Then after turned paperwork in as if house was done. before culvert was on or septic was in. When I had AC problems and called AC tech that installed the first year because House was 83 degrees. Said AC is fine. Next year Ttrane said AC is Fine but original Tech is no longer in business. Finally called my neighbor this year. he looked at it and said it would never cool my home because it was a 3 ton unit. Now who puts a 3 ton unit in a 1880 sqft home in north texas? no one. I had a Air Load on my house and it requires 4 ton min to cool. So I was left either pay to cool or have house at 85 degrees and 300 electric bill in summer. They Did Certain Things Well. My Concrete guys did a great job. Framers did a great job except for one wall not going where it was supposed to go. but that was the Project managers fault. Dry wall was great. Brick work was great. But Communication was non existent. And problems didnt exist until they caused problems for them.If they had listened in the beginning it would have saved everyone time. I I wont say dont buy from them. I will say watch them like a Hawk. Trust nothing any of them say. And get everything in writting then dont give them an inch. In retrospect, I was to easy going just trying to move things along. And And I didnt realize they put a 3 ton unit in my house until recently. And Now i am out $7,000 replacing a nearly new system in a nearly new house because UBH wanted to save money they didnt need to. Then a few months after I moved in. I get a check for $2000 dollars for construction escrow refund. So why did they cheap out on my AC to begin with? Overall? I do Like My House. But I am not Loving UBH

We also lost most of a huge post oak that they cut back. They were here for multiple days. The cleaned up at the end of each day to where you couldn't tell there had been work done. With work being done over our roof, above my shed, and over multiple fences, they made sure our property was safe and we had no damage. His crew was polite and respectful of us and our property. We couldn't be happier. TLT was very competitive with their pricing. I would highly recommend Taut Line Treez.
