We've had an outstanding experience banking with Fremont Bank. We've been with them since around 2008 and they seem to keep improving. It is obvious that Fremont Bank puts customer service as a top priority. A couple of the bankers could not possibly be more accommodating. We have received real stellar customer service here. It's such a breath of fresh air compared to Bank of America and other big banks. Also the interest rates are the most competitive of any brick and mortar, in person bank we have yet to come across. Fremont Bank is HORRIBLE! The employees in the branch & at the call center are incompetent boobs. I never received a call back from a representative that was "supposedly" looking into my problem. There was not even an update to my call ticket. So the rep did not follow up on anything. They did nothing. I never received an ATM card after opening my checking acct there. Called a month later & come to find out the rep never requested cards. How can you open a checking acct & not request ATM cards?! I would think it would be automatic & standard on all new accts. Unbelievable!! If I wanted service like this I would have stayed with BofA. read more

Worst bank I have dealt with in my life. They advertise as neighborhood bank but nothing can be far from true. Bigger corporate banks value people more than this bank. I spoke with Jame Truong about a charge that the bank has made erroneously back in June 2018 and never got a call back until I visited the bank personally yesterday. Then I find out that they had been charging me $18.00 monthly because I had less that $2500 in the account. Any bank that valued the customer would have refunded the money. Jame's response was that it was not the banks fault. If people with such poor customer service skills can be operations manager it says a lot about the bank. I will make sure anybody I have influence will close their account with this bank. read more

I paid off a small dollar second mortgage loan early. Thought Fremont Bank would be happy about that. However, in addition to the pay-off amount, it cost me over $100.00 in fees for this ! (a Reconveyance fee, a Demand fee, a Recording fee, and, can you believe it, a FAX FEE - Who uses fax machines these days anyway?). For comparsion, along with this pay-off I also paid off a huge Wells Fargo loan, and they only charged a total of $30.00. I'd shop elsewhere for a home loan. Fremont Bank seems to nickel-and-dime you on mortgage fees. read more

This review is specifially for Yarema Kuzyshyn. He is the worlds slowest teller. This morning I went in to cash a check on an account that was not my own. He asked me if I had an account with FB. I told him I've come into this branch multiple times and he himself has assisted me. He said he remembered.. then why did you ask? He sat starring at the computer for about 5 minutes before walking over the manager for help with the transaction. All he had to do was tell me that there was insufficient funds on the account. Instead he got on the phone with the owner on the account, and took 10 minutes to ask their security questions because every answer they gave he told them was not the correct information when in fact it was correct. I know this because the account owner is my mother. After I transferred funds into her account he continued to sit on his a** starring at the computer screen, then walked back to the managers desk where the manager then told him, "if the funds are available she can cash the check." So Yarema gets back on the phone with my mom and let's her know I can cash the check. You'd think ok so he's checked my ID several times, the funds are there so I'm at the home stretch he should run the check, give me my cash and I'm out the door. Well no, he sat there again starring at the computer screen and glancing back at my drivers license for another 2-3 minutes. When it came time to give me my cash he had to go into the vault because he didn't have the cash available in his drawer. This was a major inconvenience for me. It took me at least 20 minutes to leave that chair. If I can help it I will avoid him from now on. I don't usually write reviews like this but there's been far too many bad experiences with this man. I've come here to withdraw small amounts of money and it's taken him far too long to do that. I don't understand how he is employed at this bank. Fremont Bank must be desperate. read more

I have banked with Fremont Bank for many years. I have taken out home loans, opened credit card accounts and I keep a large part of my savings there. Over time I have been in most of their branches and have gotten to know a lot of their employees. The Newark Branch is by far the best, their employees are always polite & professional, but more importantly they have "Rosie". She is the best informed banker I have ever worked with, bar none. She can help you out with any banking matter, big or small and she really loves her job and it shows. Rosie makes you feel like family always paying attention to detail and to the customers' needs. I have done and canceled BofA, Chase, and Wells Fargo, and this bank is where I'm going to stay. This branch in particular is so nice. I love the homey feel and the coffee machines they have in all the branches, and I think it is so cute how they have different flavors of coffee/hot chocolate/tea at each one! I especially liked the teller Dhyan. He helped me out with my student account and made it make more sense than when I first opened the account. hi i have been with fremont bank since 1992 , they been charging me $13 monthly charge when most other bank do not do that and offering free cheking,they charge $28.00 for each NSF even if you late one day and they charge so many $28 dollars in the way they can make money, so they mange your money to make money ,+ they charge $3 dollars aday when you have negative on your account so, the charge for NSF will coast $28.00=$30= $31,00 + so fremont bank is legal steeling mony system. i do not know whay they dont say that befor you open new account,for me thats it i , iwill open with other bank. read more

My husband and I got our first mortgage from Fremont Bank last year, and the staff was amazing! They were very friendly, everything to us in detail so we really understood our options and costs, and were extremely responsive to every request. AND we did everything online / via email -- so easy! We got into our house in record time, and felt supported all along the way. We worked with Christine Castillo and Renee Mcintyre and highly recommend them both. In the process, we opened a deposit account and Gabriel Barrozo helped us with that. Many months later we needed to deposit money into the account electronically ASAP in order to make our loan payment. We emailed Gabriel to see if he could help expedite the deposit and he wrote back right away and got it figured out -- such a relief!! I was in the market for a business account. After dealing with big banks, I wanted to see what community banks were all about. My experience with Fremont Bank was a pleasant surprise. From my first interactions with Ahmed a personal and business banker at Fremont Bank he greeted me in the lobby and instead of getting down to business he asked if I would like something to drink (tea, coffee, water). When explained that I was interested in a business account and instead describing the business account he was more interested in my business and how I operate. Once I explain this he walked me step by step through the different accounts Fremont Bank had to offer and what account fit my business needs. I was able to sign up with no hassle. Once that was complete he also mentioned what other products the bank offered without trying to sign me up for anything. I didn't know such personal service still exist. Forget the commercials you hear about Fremont Bank and mortgage refinance. There should be investigations on the claims they make about the cost and honesty regarding your refinance. My experience was horrible. I actually think this group may solicit loan refinance to churn the $500 application fee, then push you until you surrender. The Sales Agent John told me nothing about additional inspections possibly required at my cost once I had signed the fee disclosure document, and Heli, the loan agent couldn't really communicate in a coherent way the reasons for the additional requirements on a refinance loan for less than a third of the appraised property value here in the Bay Area. Terrible communication and mis-spelled e-mails made me feel nervous with them having every possible piece of my sensitive financial information. Run like hell from these folks. I rationalized the $500 bill I kissed off to a valuable lesson on trusting my instincts next time. read more
