I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Went there for my car Pooja around 7 50 pm. Paid the full amount online ($51) and stood in line. Somehow, they told me that my turn would be AFTER those standing behind me who reached later. There were already two other parties waiting so I would be fourth. I let it go, no big deal. There was a priest performing the car pujas. He asked folks from one of the pujas before mine where they were from and if they all knew Hindi. They said yes. He proceeded to say (in Hindi), 'I hope you aren't like those Madrasis who come here and say they don't speak Hindi' and then went on to say a bunch of stuff about 'madrasis' in an extremely obnoxious tone and ended with 'I'm so scared of those madrasis'. My turn came around 9 pm. My husband let him know that we were next. He took one look at him and started saying 'Why do I have to do this for everyone? It's late. Call that madrasi priest.' So another priest (Chandrashekar) came out to do our puja. He was very nice, friendly and did a great job. Thanks to him, we left the temple feeling okay. I will not go to this temple again because of this experience and will strongly discourage people from going there and enabling such hateful behavior from the so-called priest. A temple should be respectful of bhaktas. Today my elderly parents and I reached there from Dublin--a long working day, 680 traffic, and the maids closed the shutter of the main temple on our faces stopping us from getting darshan of Hanumanji. Bay Area traffic is so unpredictable --on Fridays at least keep the temple open until the food is being served, and anyway, people are on the premises eating food. Is this a restaurant or a temple? How can the cleaning crew and volunteers not have the simple courtesy to not letting elderly people take darshan? Shame on you. I have been to this place since 1999 but lately, this has turned into a business and entertainment for people who don't care about the temple. read more

I checked out the Diwali Festival (Festival of Lights) Sat 10/22/11. It's like their Christmas and the temple has a 2-day event Sat 10/22/11 & Sun 10/23/11. Sat it's open until 8pm, we got there about 3pm and stayed about an hour or so. They had some food vendors: Pizza & Curry - slices for $2, I tried a Veggie one, it was a bit spicy with lots of bell peppers. Sampled the cheese pizza - just ok. Nivanaah Ice Cream - cup or cone for $3 or Kulfi & another one for $4/slice. Swagat in Milpitas had a table - I'll try the restaurant one day. Cultural events were held in the auditorium across the street in the Grimmer Elementary School. Saw 2 dance acts with Indian kids- lots of parents there to watch their kids perform. Temple - need to take off your shoes & put them in the cubby bins on the Right of the temple outside. Lots of statues of gods & people were praying & ringing a bell. They let me take tons of pictures. It's worth checking out at least once if you're in the area. I need to see the Sunnyvale Temple (this weekend) & Cupertino had an event 10/8/11 I missed. read more

I'm updating this review with links to documentation concerning the incident. While the temple itself is nice, the administration, particularly the board, is racist, rude, corrupt, contemptuous, and dishonest. I went there many times to pray and meditate. Early December, 2018 one of the board members, Manorama Joshi(also known as "Mona" or "Monaji") harassed me. She was condescending, accusing me of being homeless, critical of my spiritual path, talking down on me, dismissive, and often ignoring me. She told me I was "suspicious" and other staff there let slip that it was because I "look different" (i.e. black and not Indian). I wrote a detailed message to three other board members who did not respond. When I visited the temple to address the issue, two were present, Rajesh and Deepak. Through the conversation they only made excuses for Manorama. In fact, Rajesh's first two statements concerning the incident to me were dismissive. That set the tone for the whole conversation, which consisted mainly of them making excuses for her, their supposed right to refuse access to me, why I should even chose to visit their temple... with a few brief words pretending as though Rajesh actually accepted my account and felt such treatment was unreasonable... of course followed up by more defense of said treatment and individual. I'm sure if I was white they'd practically have been worshiping at my feet, as is exhibited in the bias shown in their home country. They never actually addressed the harassment and only defended it and themselves as an institution, adding insult to injury. As of Jan. 26, 2019 I have not heard from them. They have not made any effort to rightly deal with me or address the egregious behavior on the part of Manorama Joshi... nevermind the horrible choice of Rajesh and Deepak to defend her while themselves being rude and contemptuous. This place is horrible because of them. Don't go near it if you're black. If you're white, they'll worship you though. As far as the temple, ambiance, maintenance of the place its very good. I would say 5/5. The priests and management office are money minded is what I feel. 0/5. I had a car pooja, they told its $21 for the pooja, I had only 20 and a 10, I asked if its fine with 20, they demanded $30 because they wanted to charge for the coconut, lemon, etc. Also they did not keep their time, they made me wait for 1 hour for the priest to arrive. And the priest demanded money as a donation to doing the pooja. I paid him another $20. Total of $50 for car pooja. Very bag experience. Please do not do any car pooja in this temple. I would advice go to concord temple or san jose for car pooja. Keep away from this one (as far as car pooja is concerned) read more

It takes a while before this temple grows on you and lets you like it. First of all when you enter, it seems like it's just a small hall with a few photos of Gods. Then you notice the large Sai Baba (shirdi) statue on your left. After you finish here, you notice there is a South Indian theme room with Balaji and Shiva. Then there is another outdoor Ganesha room and Navagrahas close by. All in all it seems like a hotch potch of ideas and renovations that happened one after the other as money and volunteers/devotee attendance improved... Anyways, a temple is a temple and now this is my temple in Fremont ! Free prasad on Tuesdays after Hanuman Chalisa. Parking can be a nightmare on the street. Please don't block the neighbors garage entrances - they are all mostly working class white folks that seem curious and tolerant but also mildly irritated when we disregard their parking space and street safety. read more

Regardless of which temple you go to, recall that the donated money is a sum voluntarily given with full devotion knowing that is it on a one-way street toward the poor or needy and NOT to the priest or any staff at the temple or outside it's organization. These temples are with surplus money in their coffers and don't deserve any of the money. Now let us speak of where the dakshina came from. Dakshinai (termed in South India or Dakshina in general) comes from the phrase Guru Dakshinai where the student who learnt from his Guru by staying with him during the Gurukul days feels obligated to present something as a token of thanks. During the Gurukul days the student cleans and cooks for the Guru in exchange for the knowledge the Guru had inculcated to hi Shishya (the student). So in theory the shishya doesn't owe the Guru anything and so the word Dakshini is itself one of voluntary in nature. Thus putting money onto the plate of the Priest is itself a wrong thing to do. I can understand if some priest in a remote temple (with few devotees attending) is in need to keep up with family and other rising costs, however, a priest in the city and priest in the US doesn't need our Dakshinai, let alone demanding it. God's message is "Showing our devotion to our duty, which is the highest form of worship to Him,: nothing more or less. From Mahathma's words..."Devotion to Duty is the Highest Form of Worship to God...." Hope this makes sense. Priests in the US come in for their work which I can understand, however, their adjustment to legal status is under a separate category and are provided with all facilities including the Visa formalities. they should be the ones thanking us and praying that our visa formalities get approved faster than expected, especially, in addition to general health and prosperity that they should anyway be doing to benefit from our tax dollars for the non-profit based salary and benefits they receive. read more

The temple is very good and the priests are excellent. The management and some group of women volunteers are nasty and mean. Volunteers are basically to help around the temple and devotees. During one of the shravana mondays they came and started yelling to move fast and disturbed devotees all along, created a very negative environment. They jumped the queue themselves. In general, these women volunteers will either jump the queues, rudely talk to other devotees and wont let other devotees do puja. They create a very negative environment and I wonder if such behaviour in the house of god and infront of god really pleases the God. The devotees come from very far places to attend pooja and to be treated like this is very shameful of the so called volunteers. While there are some volunteers who go beyond to help other devotees and always smiling. May god bless them. read more

Great place to have darshan of all dieties at once. Located at heart of fremont with decent parking space. Offers priest services for all occasions . all 4 Sai aartis are performed every day. Navagrahas and homas are performed with complete austerity. Prasad is served couple of times a week.Would highly recommend. Apty connected with public transport. read more

Apart from the temple and the god , the management isnt fit for the temple , ive been like two times from yesterday to the place and couldnt get me pooja done for my car , giving some or the other explanations for a few minutes of puja , they need to take care of everything in the temple,not only the devotees coming in for darshan . We love going to this temple. They conduct a lot of community prayers, bhajan sessions. The priests are friendly and approachable. The deities are well cared for, the temple looks a little disorganized in the weekends because of the crowds. The weekdays are quiet and peaceful. A very inclusive place. read more

I'm a devout hindu and I go to this temple. The Fremont temple is located in a neighborhood with a children's school in front of it. The hindu community in Fremont is pretty big and unfortunately, this temple is a bit to small for the amount of people that come to worship. The parking lot itself can fit less than 20 cars. Further down the street, you can find additional parking or street parking. During new years, parking is really a hassle and the lines to worship are out the door. The best part of the temple for me would be the shirdi sai baba statue. Outside of the main temple hall, there is a worship room for Bala ji bhagwan, Laxmi mata, Shri Ram and Sita mata. My only other criticism would be the fact that some prasad thats being offered is open and there's been times where I've seen flies and even a roach coming close to it. For food safety, it would be best to keep food that is offered closed. I hope one day the temple can be expanded to fit with the growing community. read more

We were very disappointed and had a bad experience with the management and the priest. We have booked to perform annaprasanna for a certain date but they have noted it for a day earlier. They doubled booked a time when they have a scheduled temple pooja during that time. They asked us to wait couple of hours and do the pooja late into the night. We spoke to the office admin first and to the priest when we called in to schedule the pooja.The priest should have informed us that there will be a clash with the scheduled temple pooja. Finally we decided to come back since we did not want to perform the pooja late at night or in a room. read more

The priest gave everyone in my family flowers (The car Pooja I paid for), gave me a dirty look, and picked off one petal (out of the 20 on the flower), and handed it over to me. How rude and obnoxious, when I willingly donated $60 to the temple. He is a short man who wears glasses for all I know of him. He rushed the entire Pooja also. I will definitely not be returning. Don't do a car Pooja in my opinion, just like the previous reviews it was highly rushed. read more

Management and priests are worst. My friend booked for pooja 'pitru shanti' well in advance 20 days before. They charged $30 for it. we went on the day for pooja, our lovely priest didn't turned up, we went to management and asked his where about. They called him, and he came in a hurry after 1 hour and did the pooja for 5 min(literally) and said he had to leave because of some other work!! There are two persons in the counter one young man and a lady; he pitied on us and gave $30 refund back (of course we are not concern about the money, but concern about the way he did the pooja) ; Our lovely lady started to scold him, why you return the money with out consulting me....; she didn't bother the way pooja happened, she is least concerned about it. my friend felt bad deep in his heart....; After all $30 is not important, but they need to respect our sentiments.
