I had gone three time for the same exact thing, I new set with removal. The price went from 55-75 ( plain short set) I understood $5 per hand to get them removed but everytime she ripped my nails off which I just found out is absolutely horrid for your natural nail. They were so sore I couldn't even touch them the last time I got a new set. I hate to say it bc they are very nice there but this is a chop shop and if you are going for acrylic run! my nails took 2 months to heal after my last set. read more

Horrible experience. Vicki cut my cuticles downs entirely too short I the post they were bleeding. I got my nails done on Friday, by Monday my fingers were in excrutiating pain, swollen, and a nail had broken. I called to let Vicki know, she informed me that she would fix my nail. I got to the shop 20 minutes later, she tried to show me off to another tech. I came in and asked for a mani and pedi. In the process of getting my nails done I told them that I would like my nails buffed. They said they do not buff nails and that I could use clear nail polish instead. I've never been to a nail shop that says that they do not and will not buff your nails. I was even willing to pay extra but they refused to do it. While I can't speak for all men, I can speak for me and I dislike having nail polish put on my nails. I can foresee this place losing a lot of customers, especially male, because they are not willing to make this small accommodation. I really felt like I got cheated. Nails had no shine. Could've went somewhere else and they would've been happy to buff my nails for an extra charge. Won't be coming back. Wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I was at another nail shop that was packed and I called this shop. The gentleman was very kind and assured me that they could take me. I drove there to find a very clean, beautiful location with very friendly staff. I loved the work they did on my feet and hands however my nail polish started chipping a couple days later. Intro: tried this place because I desperately needed my nails done on a Sunday so I decided to try them out. Never going back. Decor: this place is really outdated and needs an upgrade. It's not the nicest and it could be cleaner. There was rust of the window where they had an old 80s nail poster. But...they do have a tv. Service: THEE WORST OF THE WORST. A lady in her late 40s working on my toes, trying to make conversation..but when she was finished she didn't tell me to move to the station for my nails so I started watching tv. I couldn't hear her when she called me and her way of getting my attention was to yell "GIRL!". That was extremely rude but it gets worse. Red head guy was doing my nails, I didn't like how he was using the nail file ON TOP OF MY FRESH FILL ACRYLIC. So I asked him could he not do that because I don't like it. He told me to "calm down, they will look nice" and continued to file the top of my nail. I got no chip, you are ALWAYS suppose to wash your hands w/o soap before polishing. He said don't wash your hands and went to polish my nails. I left with my nails SO DIRTY. Oh yeah, and the woman and lady switch up to do one job. For example: lady take paint off, man would shape, lady would do fill, man would paint. TERRIBLE IDEA! Weird and annoying. Product/Nails: I'll be honest, I LOVVVVVVE the way my nails look. If I could give NO STARS I would! I came in a day before and made an appt for a full set and a pedicure. I was the first one there and several customers were taken ahead of me when it was time for my full set. I was asked if I wanted to leave and come back. I have never seen anyone work so carelessly and quickly before--well, while using sharp instruments on strangers, anyway. We went for pedicures and a nice chair massage, but wound up in pain. From the first minutes, it was weird because both the man and the woman (owners?) were working on people but they said they could take us right away, and then the two of them double-teamed us, doing different segments of our pedicures while still working on their three customers getting manicures. Weird, weird, weird. When the woman was pushing back my boyfriend's cuticles, she missed and shoved the pusher underneath his toenail! He yelped in pain. Then she must have taken off too much of my calloused skin because the next day, I was in severe pain and didn't know why, so I looked only to discover a huge crack in my heel. It's been days and it still hurts like a mo-fo to walk. I know it's winter with the dry skin and such, but I've been getting pedicures for years and that's never happened to me before--ever! And I've been moisturizing well and all of that jazz, so I do believe it was this sloppy, rushed pedicure. And to add insult to injury, the polish on both my big toes got dented and smudged the same day, just like I suspected they would. How did I know? Because the man clearly had no idea how to polish nails. When there was a smudge or bubble or something, he would scrape some of the polish off with his fingernail and then add an extra coat of colored polish, thickly, over the whole nail. He did this two or three times. I learned before middle school that that is a recipe for disaster! I'm not saying I could do a better job, but--- Wait! Yes I am! I AM saying I could do a better job. I guess I have to keep driving to Frankfort for a decent, but still reasonably priced, pedicure. Or I could teach my boyfriend. read more

Huge fan of this nail salon. It is the very last business in the strip mall on 99th and Kedzie. I have been going here for a few years now. You can get a manicure, spa pedicure (with great massage chairs), and an eyebrow waxing for $40. It is like a mini day at the spa. They have a bunch of OPI colors as well - if you want crackle just ask, they have those behind the counter. I have gotten full sets done here before as well and they are great. read more

Tried this place the other day for the first time. i wanted a mani/pedi for a wedding i was standing in. They had a good selection of colors. The shop is nice and clean and the woman who did my nails was quick and and did a great job. While we were there multiple people came in who appeared to be regulars. Won't be coming back. This was my first time visiting. I walked out before the service due to bad customer service. This place is outdated and needs some remodeling and updating. But I wanted to give them a try. I walked in, no one spoke or asked what I wanted. They looked at me crazy while finishing their other clients. So I tried to be proactive and told the lady, I needed a polish change. I even on my own, found my color and sat and waited for someone to help me. A lady of another descent walked in well after me and they were so nice to her, they spoke to her, asked her what she needed done told her to pick a color and to have a seat at one of the stations. Finally, another woman working came and asked what I needed done and to pick a color. I told her I have already picked a color and she told me to have a seat at a station. A man working their came to the lady who entered later behind me and asked her which color she picked and proceeded to the back to get her color. While I still sat and no even acknowledged my presence. I don't have time to deal with these types of establishments. I can use my hard earned money on a establishment who will appreciate it and render excellent customer service. read more

I needed my nails done on Sunday so I decided to give this place a try. I got a full set with no chip and a pedicure. I also got my eyebrows done. The men were nice but the women were just rude. The older woman was the worse. As stated in the other reviews, you don't have just one person doing your nails, the men and women switches off at least two times. Then with my nails I told the gentleman I wanted gel, no acrylic. He said okay. But he wasn't the actual person who performed that part, the older woman did. So to make sure she knew I wanted gel, I asked her "you be using gel correct? I requested gel." She said something I couldn't hear her so I said "I'm sorry, can you repeat that?" She yelled "I SAID GEL!" Ummmm okay. lol sooooo your talking low and have a face mask on and mad because I asked you politely to repeat yourself? Oh okay. After that you can tell she had an attitude. Then she had to leave me and finish another lady because she forgot to do something. I wasn't upset and was patient. I guess she appreciated it and came back in a better mood. She went on to explain that they were busy and it was a rush. Okay so just because your busy that gives you the right to treat your customers like shit when they ask you questions? Oh okay. The nails came out nice despite the switching between the man and the woman, I was pleased. I let the lady chose the color and she chose a very pretty light pink. As far as the eyebrows goes-horrible. Do not get your eyebrows done here. SO. If your regular/favorite nail place is closed on a Sunday then come here, otherwise go with what you know. For over five years I have been to different nail shops, receiving many nail and feet services, but I have never came in contact with a shop like this. I enjoy getting my nails done and good customer service is difficult to find in this industry. Luckily, I came across French Nails. Even though it is a small business, their environment gives them the advantage to take their time with each customer and not rush. Upon my first entrance, they acknowledged me with kind gestures and made me feel at home. As one of the staff started caring my for nails, he made me aware that the gel that was previously on my nails was eating my cuticles away. In addition, he proceeded with repairing them and by the end of my service my nails were looking better than ever. As time went on, I noticed my nails getting healthier and healthier. There has been many times where I have came in as early as 9am and as late as 8pm and they would still let me in and service me, even on weekends. Compared to other shops I've been to, I have paid between $28 and $35 dollars for only a fill-in. With only paying the price of $20 for a fill-in, I've been an extremely satisfied customer and encourage everyone to try them out. read more

I am more mad at myself for not leaving when I had my first bad instinct. As soon as i walked in there was no customers or works in sight. Someone finally comes out from the back and asks what I need. I let them know I'm there for a fill so I sit down and this man comes to start my nails. They drill part they used had something sharp on it and cut up my cuticuls and skin. He put a fake nail on the front of my nail that broke off and started trying to run this sharp tool On my real nail until i pulled away! There was nothing smooth about their tools. I was trying to be nice and think that it would get better, but it only got worse. I got distracted with the tv and when i looked down the tech was putting super glue on my real nails where the part had grown out before he put more gel powder over them !! He didn't put the gel powder on he actually got up and some lady came over to do that part. I was like, ok maybe she will finish and everything will get better. But she just did the powder and he came back. He was like "wow my hands are cold". The man just came in from outside smoking and didn't even wash his hands, so he was freezing and smelled like a gross ciggeratte. He starting filing down my nails with the sharp tool again (when this tooth is supposed to be used to smooth it out , instead it just left streaks). So I left there with super glue all over my nails and the top of my nails bleeding. When i told him about how that tool needs to be thrown out and told him to look at my hands bleeding he just looked at me and said "35 dollars". I was more mad at myself for not leaving when i knew i should have so i left the 35 and walked out. This is the only tools they used the whole time and i was there for 2 hours !! It was the worst nail experience I've ever had in the 7 years I've been getting them done. Always speak up for yourself if you feel something isn't right and don't let this place take your money. You'll leave unsatisfied and in pain. (I'm new back to the area and tried this place out). I recommend getting advice from friends before going anywhere new. Learn from my mistake. read more
