Half the store is devoted to women and half the store is filled with men's colognes. I think you need to have a perfume in mind when you are shopping and I am still in the decision making process. I ended up with a wrong bottle that smelled very strong next morning. They won't take it back and won't exchange for a different one even for a more expensive bottle. I do not recommend this place to anyone. She wants us to follow her rules but she gives more than a dozen samples at once knowing you will make the wrong choice. She walked us through the history of perfumery and the categories of scents. We were free to sniff at any and all of the scents as we desired. We were then off to create two perfumes that we wanted. The only limitation was our own imagination! I set my mind on a summer one (Spring day with fresh flowers and clean linen) and winter one (eating my favorite cookies near the Christmas tree). It was such a blast attempting to create these scents and smelling how the different scents would work with each other. Despite the tall order, I was able to concoct the exact perfumes in my mind's eye with Sherry's help. My hubby created a beachy evening one and a mulled wine one that smell amazing, too. This was such a unique, memorable experience and I especially loved the shared experience with my partner. The next closest stand-alone one is in Milestone in Germantown, which isn't wildly far away, but they sometimes seem to have supply issues for certain scents.* This new location in Downtown Crown is near Sephora, across from Coastal Flats and next to the old Zagg storefront (which moved over by UPS). There is a strip of 30 minute street parking available in front, or the garage around the bend from Ruth's Chris if you don't want to fight for space in the surface lot by the Harris Teeter haha I checked online to make sure the scents I was interested in would be in stock (assuming the corporate website was accurate) and headed in for the soap and sanitizer sale they had today. It is such a thoughtfully laid out location, and to say they had plentiful supplies of every type of item is an understatement! Everyone was friendly, and helpful, and when there wasn't any of the vanilla sanitizer out, they voluntarily checked their storage in front and back, and made sure to put more out by rearranging the display. This is the kind of location that will get me in the door more often than I should shop for some of these things, but it was such a joy compared to more stressful times I've had in mall locations, etc. [*Germantown tangent: I had been looking for travel sized Warm Vanilla Sugar all last fall/winter there and they never had it despite having tons of like 3 scents. I want to take a moment to acknowledge one of the sales associates, Ashley. After three other associates walked past us without engaging, Ashley came over, greeted us warmly, and made us feel welcome. Her kindness and personal attention really stood out and made our visit enjoyable. This isn't meant as a complaint about the location overall, just a shout-out to Ashley for going above and beyond.
