Fantastic family owned business in the DMV who cater nationwide to fragrance enthusiasts. Amazing selection and fantastic customer service.

I discovered Parfums de France /PerfumedeFrance.com in early 2025 and I have placed several orders for their decants in the past year. They are fantastic on shipping times and they carry authentic niche perfumes that may be difficult to find elsewhere. I've also noted that they usually have things in stock, even when other places don't: case in point Loumari's Porthole, which I will discuss later. First, I want to discuss their customer service. I placed my first order with four decants; one was a 5ml of Valaya Exclusif, the rest were 2mls. However, when they arrived, I didn't notice that they were all 2mls. It took months before I started cataloging my perfumes on a spreadsheet, and only then did I realize that I had been sent a 2m instead of a 5ml. I emailed PdF explaining what had happened including pictures of my order and what the sent. I asked if they could send me a bottle with the additional 3 mls that I was missing. Instead, they apologized and said they would send an additional 5ml, rather than the missing 3ml; meaning I ended up with 7 mls instead of my original order of 5 mls. This interaction made me appreciate and respect the company because they own up to their mistakes and take care of their customers. One of my next orders included a decant of Vanilla Powder Extrait. However, when it arrived, the printed label just said Vanilla Powder. I had previously ordered Vanilla Powder EDP, but it was also just labeled Vanilla Powder. So, I was unsure if I had been sent a second EDP in this order, or whether I was sent the Extrait I had actually ordered. I emailed customer service and they confirmed that I had been sent the Extrait even though the label didn't specify. So, I manually wrote Extrait on the label to prevent confusion with my other EDP sample. Their labels are literally my only gripe. I wish that they included more than just the perfume name--eg. Including Extrait/EDP/EDT would prevent confusion; having the brand, the decant size, and the date of the decant would also be great. But these are all things I can 'fix' manually by just writing them on the label. I've also had to manually write over some of the perfume names because they fade on the newer white labels. The old clear labels haven't fade. I manually written over them and then taped over that to seal them. After the above orders, I read that they have FREE brand samples, separate from their in-house hand decants, which cost $. So, I emailed them asking about the free samples, and about a promo code I had received from their marketing email. They didn't respond right away, which is very unlike them, so I emailed again the following week. I received a response apologizing as they had been very busy (I believe it was Valentines orders), and they explained that some brands don't allow higher discount codes, but they provided some other codes to try, and they provided their phone number and told me to text them directly when I place my full bottle order and they would add some free samples to my order. I had Loumari Porthole in my cart, but delayed ordering it because I wanted to make sure I didn't want to add anything else to my order before I placed it. Of course, when I went back to my cart to order it a week or so later, it was listed out of stock but available for pre-order. I checked several other websites, and no one had it in stock. This is something I've noticed about PdF, which other sellers don't do. They will tell you when something is unavailable (truly out of stock) vs currently not in stock but available for pre-order from their next shipment. AND they often have things in stock that others don't. Instead of preordering, I decided to check the website every now and again, and the day it came back in stock I ordered it with a 15% off code. I then text the number the customer service person gave me, and they replied immediately --even though it was Mother's Day weekend--and said would add some samples to it for me. WELL....I got my order today and along with with FB, and a 5ml decant I purchased to carry in my purse, it arrived with 7 free brand samples! These aren't just your normal run of the mill samples, they are expensive niche perfume samples (from the brands; not decants) including: Roja - Isola Snow (Parfum) Xerjoff - Torino24 (EDP) Vilhelm Parfumerie - Mango Skin (EDP) Fugazzi- Angel Dust (extrait) Matiere Premier - Vanilla Powder (Extrait) Matiere Premier - Crystal Saffron (Extrait) Essential Parfums - Bois Imperial (Extrait) Honestly, I couldn't be happier. I love this company. Yes there are other stores out there (Lucky Scent/Scent Bar; Twisted Lily; etc), but I adore Parfums de France above all others because of their customer service, attention to detail, glass (usually metal topped) spray decant bottles, non gouged prices, frequent discount codes AND FREE fast shipping (their order total for FREE shipping is lower than any of the other stores I mentioned). Terrible customer service, I purchased a perfume online that arrived damaged and leaking. I provided video proof of damage to seller in which he responded for me to return the item as he provided a return label. After a few days he contacted me by phone stating he received the product and that he was going to send me a replacement. After a few minutes after getting off the phone I received an email he found nothing wrong with the sprayer and that he was not going to provide me with a replacement or a refund. I have to disagree with some of the people saying the staff is rude and they push you to buy. I have gone to the store in prior occasions but did not buy something until recently. The reason why I didn't buy anything in the last was due to finding my signature scent for my everyday to day. I knew the notes that I wanted and what it should make me feel and to be remembered by that scent. Yes, some of the staff may tried to give you a random scent but luckily, I found Jasmine who has been very helpful in my journey. My advice when going into the store is know exactly the notes and the occasion you are looking for. Try one or two on your skin see how it reacts to your chemistry and how it makes you feel. You could go with well know niche brands or other know fragrances which they have at the store but it takes time. As for the staff being racist, no they are not. My friend who also got her perfume there is a afro Caribbean and myself I am Hispanic. I never felt any type of racism from the staff or felt treated wrongfully. My friend bought her perfume on the second visit. I did not buy my perfume until 9 months later not because I could not afford it but because I am very particular with my perfumes. Luckily, in my recent visit I found it. My suggestion because the store gets crowded in the weekends go during the week during work hours for everyone. This is one of those "one-of-a-kind", magical stores that you run into somewhere in Paris or Rome, or London, and that is quaint, packed to the ceiling with fabulous stuff, with mirrors walls and even a chandelier! Only this one is on the first floor of Tyson's Corner, a large mall in Tysons, VA. Parfums de France specializes in rare, difficult to find brands of perfumes, such as Montale Paris, Roja, Profumum Roma, Initio, Mancera and Clive Christian, among many, many others. The owners personally run the store, and are the most incredibly kind and knowledgeable people you will ever find. Customer service was rough we wanted to come in and check what they have in store and they stopped us before we even made it in the store telling us they didn't have the fragrance we were looking for and told us to go to Bloomingdale's. Would not recommend. I questioned a worker about why there were so many 1 star reviews, who I think is the owner then stepped in with a very aggressive tone. Some might have even said he was verbally attacking me. Unlike a commercial store the owner then offered me a better deal if I bought it today rather than buying it later, just a bit suspicious... Have you ever wanted to purchase perfume from a prison commissary? If so, then this is your place. I've visited this store a handful of times. The first time I had a helpful sales associate and I purchased a perfume and body lotion I loved. Every other time I've gone in, it's incredibly unwelcoming and almost hostile. The employees aren't interested in helping and so many of the fragrances are behind the counter. Would you like to smell more than 2 fragrances? Today was the last time I EVER step foot in this place. The last time I paid them a visit (late 2019) it was wonderful! The staff allowed me to EXPLORE different houses uninterrupted for over an hour and I ended up spending a NICE chunk of money. The lady at the time was even impressed that I was able to smell so many different fragrances without getting olfactory fatigue lol (aye what can I say?). Anyway... after inquiring about a fragrance in particular I was looking for,I was basically rushed out of the place after a few minutes. What the jackass didn't realize is that like Denzel... The most racist and rude customer service ever. i normally get my niche fragrances from Neimans or Saks, but wanted to come to a perfume store that specializes in perfumes from France specifically. So my sister and I came after very carefully planning our visit all the way from BALTIMORE. When we arrived, we were treated like we didn't belong. The man sprayed the perfume and wouldn't hand it to me, he would put the strip on the table and walk away. He saw i had a list and kept asking me "how many perfumes you gonna smell today?" AS MANY AS I WANT TO if i am about to spend $500-$700 on a bottle or MAYBE 2!! He then came and GRABBED a bottle of Memo out of my sisters hand and she was spraying a paper saying "I will help you with that"- the final straw was when the woman came over and told us that we should come on a weekday because weekends are really busy (they had ONE other customer in there besides me and my party of 3). THAT WAS IT. If you are a BLACK WOMAN, do NOT spend your money here!! they are very racist and rude. They OBVIOUSLY went out of their way for the non-black patrons that passed through, smelling things like D&G Light Blue (no offense but it's a $90 perfume) and still bought NOTHING. Amazing seller with a wide range of products from the newest fragrance houses, such as Electimuss and BDK Parfum to the tried an true designer fragrances like Versace, Polo, and Gucci. He also has the very high end niche houses, such as Roja Parfums, Xerjoff, Kajal, and Royal Crown. The owner, Sammy, really knows how to help you find the fragrance you're seeking at a great price. Parfums de France has become my Go-to store for Niche perfumes. Their customer service is EXCEPTIONAL! Their response to my inquiries are so fast and prompt. They also have the newest releases and if unavailable, there is the option to preorder. When Guidance by Amouage and also Overture were out of stock everywhere in the US, they had them available and shipped promptly. Wow! I'm still in shock. Parfums de France is a hidden gem for true fragrance lovers. Seriously, I have never had this much happiness shopping for exquisite and top quality fragrances in years! When i asked to smell certain perfumes he would say "this is for men" as if he had the right to choose which perfume a woman should sample. Then after a while he said to me "ohh it's a small store, customers can't smell the perfumes because you spray too much. Maybe come tomorrow?" I replied "wow that's rude! I visited on Saturday, Dec 11th and when I arrived, the female associate was unwelcoming and very unpleasant. When I inquired in the fragrances and samples I planned to purchase, she falsely informed me that samples were unavailable. I explained that I had intended to purchase these online and she proceeded to tell me that they did not carry them in store. I further explained that I knew this to be untrue (as been a previous customer) and she stated her claims were due to a "more expensive" (whilst pointing to cheap travel perfume holder) "decant holder" I was required to purchase with samples. Obviously this claim was ridiculously false and quite crude. Very offensive to a returning customer and owner of niche fragrances. After all this, I still purchased a montale fragrance and several samples out of convenience and the young gentleman that did help me. I agree with another reviewer of their racial profiling and discriminatory behavior. I had intended on purchasing bond's greenwich village and several other perfumes and against better judgment, I rather should of given them no business at all. Very disappointing as I live in Tyson's and enjoy their large selection of niche fragrances. If you'd like a pleasant in store experience shop at Neiman's or Saks instead. I was accosted for recording a snap of a particular perfume by Bijan that I'd never seen on this coast. The salesperson--possibly owner--who raised his voice then sought to clarify that I "can only take a picture of one perfume, not of the case." Well, mate, it'd be kind of you to not assume next time. :-/ I get how grey market fragrance sales work. That said, it would be helpful to have a No Photography sign before you yell at me for doing it, because while there's nothing prohibiting you from selling grey market goods (and therefore no reason to worry about pictures), if you jump when someone pulls out a phone, I'll wonder what else you're selling that would make you so scared of one. If I ever come back to buy that Tom Ford Soleil Blanc, I'll update my review based on the product purchase and service experience. (I popped back around thirty minutes later to see if a No Photography sign was prominently displayed just to fact-check this assertion before posting it. Didn't see one. I discovered this gem of a store over 10 years ago, and I have been tempted to keep it as my own little secret, but a review is long overdue and it's the least I can do to spread the word. The store is located in Tysons Corner (Tysons 1) next to Macy's on the lower level. The owner of the store, is a gem to deal with. He is passionate about fragrances, and is eager to help you discover what you want, without applying the usual pressure sales tactics from sales persons. He is patient, and makes pretty much all fragrrances available for sampling at your own pace (which unfortunately, I've seen some people abuse, but I digress). His prices are also as competitive as anything out there. His long time workers are also very pleasant to work with and welcome you with a smile. I've discovered so many gems at this little store, long before they make their way to the bigger department stores. You can check out all higher end fragrance lines like Roja Dove, Xerjoff, Creed, Clive, Ramon Monegal and the list goes on. Do yourself a favor and make your way down to this paradise for perfume lovers. I can't recommend them any stronger. read more

I am writing to formally request a full refund for an order I placed on March 21, 2024, that was not received despite being marked as delivered. This order included nine items, and I also paid $38.88 for Route Protection Insurance to cover lost, stolen, or damaged packages. This order was financed through Afterpay. On March 21, at 2:40 p.m., I was contacted by Sam, a manager and co-owner, to verify my order. We discussed my interest in "Gardens of Kensington" and "Leisure in Paradise." Although "Gardens of Kensington" was out of stock, Sam suggested a tester of "Leisure in Paradise," which was $50 less than the ticketed price. I agreed to this modification. After waiting a reasonable period beyond the expected delivery date, I contacted your team(Parfum De France) on March 28 to report that my package had yet to arrive. I was advised to wait a few more days, but by April 2, 2024, the package still had yet to be delivered. Since then, I have made several attempts to resolve this matter with Sam directly, including reaching out on April 3, 4, 5, and 13. Sam requested that I complete an affidavit confirming I did not receive the package, which I immediately submitted. It is concerning to learn that my Route Protection Insurance was canceled without my knowledge or authorization, preventing me from filing a claim. I also need a refund for the insurance and the out-of-stock items. Given that the value of the order exceeded $2,000, it is troubling that signature confirmation was not requested for such a significant amount. I am now requesting a full refund for the missing order, including the insurance fee and any adjustments for out-of-stock items. Please process this refund immediately, or I will be compelled to take further actions to ensure my consumer rights are respected. The fact that the company canceled their Route insurance, which covers theft, and issued their own insurance is evidence enough of their liability. The new insurance company, chosen without my knowledge, did not cover theft, and I did not authorize this modification to my order. Companies don't make goodwill adjustments to orders without a reason. Sammy is liable for the entire order, and I will accept no less than a full refund. Sammy has unnecessarily prolonged this process and is completely wrong for canceling the Route insurance that I paid for. He also mentioned that they were out of "Gardens of Kensington" and replaced it with a tester, meaning the $200 credited as a "goodwill" gesture is actually owed from the initial order date. I demand a full refund for my order and will accept nothing less. Furthermore, I cannot file a claim with Route because my order was canceled. read more

The staff was so helpful I had such a great experience that I have placed over 3 orders since that time. The fragrances are fresh and stored in climate controlled mall. I was so happy to be able to find it and buy it at Parfums De France, which is located on the first floor at Tyson's Corner. The staff is so sweet and helpful. The store has a huge selection of perfumes. You can find scents that please a variety of women. The store has many testers to try on the perfume you desire. Fantastic selection, most of which have a sample you can try. Prices are a little on the higher end but I prefer to shop local, especially for fragrances, you can really find a great option here! Helpful staff except when it came to asking the difference between the EDT and EDP versions of the fragrance I wanted, just because and EDP is more expensive and more concentrated doesn't necessarily mean its the better option. I give this place a 4.75 only because a dedicated fragrance store should be able to give you expert advice on all of their inventory, actually giving them 5 stars because I know this is asking a lot especially when they have as many options in stock as these guys do!
