Very sad experience and honestly one that felt like racial profiling…read more I made an appointment a month in advance to bring in a large amount of items for consignment (almost all of them were designer with tags attached). I arrived a few minutes early with my things and stepped away for about 6-8 minutes to use the restroom elsewhere since I was told I couldn't use theirs, which I understood. When I came back, the owner quickly told me she had already looked through everything and didn't want any of it. I was shocked because my things were clearly untouched and I had a suitcase with a number-code lock on it. I asked her twice if she had opened the suitcase, and she said yes, but I was aware that she never actually went through my things at all. I left upset and called the store afterward to confront her. She panicked, kept apologizing, and said she learned a big lesson from this. What is disappointing is that I was judged before I was even given a chance. I couldn't help but feel that my dark hair and brown skin played a role in how I was treated and that assumptions were made about what I may have brought in. No one should walk into a business and feel dismissed or stereotyped like that. I do not recommend consigning or shopping here.

I was able to find what I was looking for (somewhat) but noticed many sizes totally missing from the shelves and racks. I don't know if it was because this was near the holiday period. I am hoping that was the case. Parking is free.

My Jeeps have only been touched ("tricked out") by the Trick Trucks team (and me) for the exterior…read moreupgrades. In the early 2000s, my 1998 TJ (RIP) was "tricked" up by the best when they were at another location. So, when I relocated back to the DMV, I naturally took my 2009 JK (lovingly known as the "Dreamcatcher"), to my closest Trick Tricks. However, I performed my own due diligence to see how their customers rated them before calling. Yes, I'm that customer who needs to 1) due her own diligence even after doing business with you in the past, 2) look a person in their eyes, and 3) "feel" your vibes before doing business with you (especially my hard earned money is involved). Next, I visited Johnny at the Kensington, MD location after speaking with him telephonically. Johnny was easy going, knowledgeable guy and has great customer service skills (on the phone and in-person). Johnny listened to my wishes, answered my questions and educated me on things that I researched on the Net. I felt comfortable again making my appointment and making a deposit. *** Upgrade Time *** Like Christmas morning, I watched the clock until Trick Trucks opened. Then 'work 'happened and I got sidetracked, Johnny called and said... Ms. Bonita today is the day, are you coming? Like a race horse out the gates, I flew down multiple flights of stairs and leaped into the Dreamcatcher to drive it to Johnny. Like anything of importance, you don't leave your "baby" just with anyone. So, I happily left my baby (Dreamcatcher aka '09 JK) for a few nights stay with the Trick Trucks team for her upgrades and enhancements. She now flaunts her new high heeled (3" lift) shoes (35" tires), rims (I learned they are also called "wheels"), eyes (headlights) attention getters (taillights), upgraded tire carrier, fix a known-inherited light issue, tinted windows, and coordinated an unexpected mechanical issues repair for our safety (ie another inherited issue). *** Post Upgrades *** Johnny and Larry are awesome especially with entertaining my questions and concerns about the new driving experience with the new upgrades. The way I described it was non-technical and a little animated. Note , this was a perfect 50+ miles of driving check-in point after the upgrades (as suggested); for the record, it was NOT a quality of service issue). Johnny summarized the issue to the tech team and they allowed me to squeeze into their schedule. Upon arrival, Larry took the Dreamcatcher out to see if he can experience what I described about the new driving experience. Minutes later, Larry came back raving about the drive (smooth drive even on the local streets). I gleamed and concurred. Next, he blunted out "I forgot to ask at what speed?" I provided the key information, and Larry took the Dreamcatcher back out and onto the freeway to understand my reported driving experience. Under an hour, Larry relayed that the team made a couple tweaks (50+ miles check in as suggested on the receipt). I called in to give positive feedback to Larry on their tweaks the driving experience I described. The Dreamcatcher will be back for her 500-mile mark as suggested by the Trick Truck (and Jeep) gurus. Should you choose Trick Truck for your vehicle's upgrade needs, I hope you'll a positive experience at the Kensington location. I found the team really helpful, knowledgeable and have customer service woven into their fibers. One thing I appreciated was Johnny following up with me personally (even though I spoke to Larry). He ended the call with a friendly reminder to come back at my 500-mile check in. This end-to-end experience was worthy of this 5-star rating with a long write-up. My apologies for any typos and grammatical flaws; I hope you understand my write up. I'll post a before and after picture soon.
