I had an appointment with Jared @2:15 on July 31, 2018 At 2:08, he summoned the receptionist to the back to speak with her. The receptionist came back to say that my appointment was cancelled because Jared was sick. This would have been a believable story had I not witnessed Jared take another client (who came in after me) to his station. This type of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. I took off early from work; in addition, I was there to get my roots touched up because I wanted to look good for my teacher yearbook photo. I haven't had a haircut in five years. I've had a shaved head ever since "The Incident," but this year I was feeling a little saucy. I'd been growing my hair out since Easter, and by November it was getting to be a little out of control. My lion's mane needed to be tamed, preferably by a woman wielding a whip and a stool. (Lion tamers use 4-legged chairs/stools because the multiple legs make it harder for the lion to focus on one thing at a time. Something something about their vision go read Wikipedia.) I found Fresche on the Internet through the same tool you tools are using to read this right now. Congratulations. Making an appointment through fresche.net was super simple. I've been to adult sites that were more difficult to navigate, and you'd think they cater to the lowest common denominator. Anywho, I showed up for my appointment today with a randomly selected stylist, Laura. If you don't intend to read further, know that Laura is awesome and you should request her. I explained to Laura that for the last half decade, I'd been shaving my own head because on June 14th, 2011, genocide happened to my hair follicles. A genocide named Deborah. She was ruthless. But that's neither here nor there. So Laura had this new head of hair of mine to deal with, and me, a clueless buffoon who hasn't seen the inside of a salon since he was in college. Head of hair is being humble. Call me Mufasa from now on. Yes, I'm calling back to the lion's mane comment. Deal with it. So Laura asked what I wanted, and I told her to do what she thinks is best, which I'm sure is every hair stylist's least favorite answer. It's tantamount to someone saying "here's a blank canvas, draw whatever you want, just doing paint it in human excrement." But Laura handled it with grace and went to work. As an added bonus (and I don't even think she charged extra for this), Laura is a well-endowed woman, and she may or may not have rubbed her boobs against my head a few times. Intentionally? We may never know. It's not important. What is important is that after cutting and shampooing and MASSAGING my dome, Laura left me with already looked like a vast improvement. Then she used a word that I thought was reserved for the men of Midtown. Product. Laura wasn't willing to settle with me being stuck in my comfort zone. She introduced me to messing creme. Product. A generic word meant to refer to literally any manufactured good which has been re-purposed by the hair-care industry to describe things that make hair do stuff. That's the best way to describe it. So she showed me how to make my hair "sexy messy," and oh em gee did she make it work. When I went to work later that day, someone told me I looked like I'd been on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. I don't even know if that show's on tv anymore! Do you understand the magnitude of that improvement? Laura Austin made my co-worker reference an outdated pop culture phenomenon to describe my haircut! She done good. Quote that. After five years of suffering from The Incident, Laura and the team at Fresche have alleviated my suffering and turned me into a super hero whose power is to make women weak in their knees just by seeing his hair and the confidence that comes along with it. I've been looking for a place to get my hair cut since moving back to the South. Based on the reviews, I thought/hoped this might be the place. I bought a Groupon after I had already decided to try the place. I do wonder if my service would have been better if I had just paid full freight, which after their bait and switch, would have been about the same. Regardless, I won't be back. Here's why. 1. Bait and Switch. I sat down in the chair and once the colour was on top of my head I was told there would be an extra charge for gloss and that my hair would look brassy and tired without it. Not wanting my hair to look like crap, I agreed to the upcharge. In fairness to the salon, I checked the next day and they do normally charge extra for gloss. That's a first for me in my 20+ years of having my hair done, but I can live with that. It would have been nice if that had been made clear well before hand. But what really gets me is what happened not only to me, but to the woman next to me. She too was bearing a Groupon and was told that there was a $20 charge for a blow dry. Later I was told the same thing. The Groupon clearly covers a blow dry. It made the whole experience seem shady and uncomfortable. 2. Despite the up-charge, my colour faded after only 2 washings. It's brassy and gross. 3. It was neither the best nor the worst cut I've ever gotten. It's been a few weeks and it clearly needs to be reshaped and despite telling me she specialized in curly hair, this cut is not letting my natural curl pop. It mainly looks frizzy. In addition, while cutting it, the stylist told me she's been focused on colouring until recently and is just returning to cutting. Great. Just great. A friend has had a much different experience of this place than me, so, of course, your milage may vary. But even if it had been the best haircut in all of Atlanta, I'd be reluctant to come back after the Groupon experience. I recognize they lose money on the Groupon. Yet it's their choice to offer it, so I really don't understand their decision to add hidden fees. I'd rather pay more and feel like a place is being honest than get in there and feel like I'm trapped and being swindled. read more

As a girl, finding a great hair salon is one of the toughest things in the world. This is not one of those places. I just got out of the shower after washing my hair three times trying to get the incessantly bright streaky red highlights out of my hair. I'm not sure where the miscommunication happened but I explicitly remember saying, when given the decision between "Oh hey something's different about your hair" vs "oh hey you dyed your hair" I chose the first option. Where in the dictionary is subtle defined as "teenager trying to show off how punk rock she is with her red highlights?" Also, who doesn't blend highlights? Pretty sure chunky highlights were left back in the 90s. Sorry Laura, your coloring skill does not cut it for me. read more

I received one of the worst haircuts of my life here. My hair is over all shorter than I specified and my bangs are to short to be any kind of stylish. Over all I walked out wishing I hadn't cut my hair at all! I visited the Decatur location and I received a great haircut but this place seriously messed up. Fresche is a really good salon. I moved to Atlanta a few years ago and after 3 weeks of letting my hair grow out in to an androgynous mound, I decided it was time to deal with the fact that I was 4 hours away from who used to do my hair and pick a new stylist. When it comes to stylists, I'm like the Trumpet Swan, I mate for life. I don't play around with my hair. I pick one person to touch it and I never stray. I've actually hunted down stylists who leave a salon to find where they went next. I've only had one restraining order filed. Jokes. Anyway, I was nervous because I assumed everyone in the ATL would be super expensive, but I found Fresche. They assured me that the best stylist to go to if one had short hair was Lori. And she is. I get a ridiculous number of complements on my hair. In fact, so many people noticed my hair that quite a few went to Lori and I got a referral bonus coupon. Clearly they treat their customers right. Anyway, Lori is great and she is very reasonably priced. She also makes adorable hair pieces you can buy. My friend just got one for her birthday, and it wasn't even from me. Aside from the awesomeness that is Lori, the salon always looks great, the staff is friendly, and making an appointment is a breeze. read more

Leaving even a halfway decent stylist is traumatic, and my fabulous hairdresser in DC was light years better than halfway decent. So, when I moved to Atlanta, I had a significant amount of panic regarding who would cut and color my hair. I put off the search for a couple of months, but the roots started getting to me, and I needed to look sleek and polished for an upcoming high school reunion. So, off to Fresche, based on a recommendation from a college girlfriend. The salon is really small and cute, and everyone was very friendly. It would have been a very relaxing atmosphere, except for the fact that there were some loud little kids running around. Lori was my stylist, and she gave me a great consultation (I change my hair a lot, and I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to do this time around). We decided on blond and copper highlights with an all-over color that's a richer, more interesting version of my natural color (which is best described as "mousy brown"). The color turned out wonderfully--you can really see the copper in certain lighting, so it's noticeable but subtle. The cut is short and piecey, and I really like that as well. Very easy to style and manage, which is exactly what I need. The bad (besides the kids): it took THREE HOURS for a cut and color. I am not a newbie to beauty treatments, so I understand that when you want to color your hair, you're going to sit for a while. However, I don't think I've ever had a hair appointment go quite that long. Maybe it's because I'm used to balayage instead of the foils, but damn, I was in there a loooooooong time. Good thing Lori and I had so much to talk about! Prices seemed reasonable to me, since the finished product was so good. Maybe I've been spoiled on rockstar hair stylists over the past few years. And maybe my expectations for a good haircut are unfairly high. So when I pay $60+ on a haircut, I expect to, at least, get what I asked for and at most, get an exceptional haircut. I can't say that either expectation was met at Fresche. My first clue should have been that they didn't carry Bumble and Bumble products. What discerning, professional salon doesn't carry Bumble and Bumble? I should've high-tailed it out of there the second I made that observation. Alas, I did not and proceeded to allow Phillipa to cut my hair based on a recommendation of a friend. The result; a flat, shapeless, chin-length bob that, on a good day (when I spend 20 minutes blow drying and flat ironing), looks like a kindergarten yearbook photo - and on a bad day (when I don't feel like trying), looks like Kate Gosslin; pre-divorce. Maybe it was my fault... Maybe I didn't give enough direction. Maybe; "Some layers around my face. Long bangs. And leave enough length to pull back into a ponytail.", was not specific enough because that is not the hair cut I received. And believe me when I say that there will be no ponytails for MONTHS. On top of that, they don't accept Amex so I had to go home, get my Visa and go back to pay $60+ for a shitty haircut. It has been several weeks since my experience at Fresche and I am still upset about how my hair looks. I wish I had never set foot in that salon. read more

Will not go anywhere else in Atlanta! Phillippa is just the best! Quite frankly, this is the best my hair has ever looked in my life. period. I tried this salon being underwhelmed with the stylists in the area and having a groupon. So I did my research on the stylists at the salon and made my pick. Side note, I really like that this company has profiles of their staff complete with bios and portfolio pictures. Pay attention, competition! Well, the research paid off! I have very thick, wavy, natural dark blonde hair that is past my shoulders... see my pro pic. By very thick, I mean enough for at least 2 people. My hair is too heavy to stay in any type of bun and even a pony tail if straightened while running at the gym. Anyways, many stylists that I had been to until her would not or did not know how to put layers into my hair. Since my hair has texture it expands when it dries, without good layering my hair is triangular... not a good look. My first appointment was $25 dollar haircut with groupon. Phillippa treated me like I was a high profile client. She spent 1.5 hr completely overhauling my hair! On top of that, she curled and styled for free just cuz she had extra time! I felt like a celebrity! Over a year later and I am still going to her. She listens, never tries to add on services or push product, and accommodates my needs. Her ability to trend pattern your hair color and create natural looking highlights is exceptional. I beyond recommend her!! read more

Lori at Fresche was the first person to cut my hair in Atlanta, and she remains the ONLY person to have cut my hair in Atlanta. She even puts up with my wacky requests, like "Make it awesome and stylish, but I don't really have the patience to blow-dry it... or use more than one product... Oh! and by the way, it needs to still look good after I commute-- wearing my scooter helmet." Done and done. I did get lost the first couple times I tried to get to Oakhurst, but that's because I think it's actually a mythical place like Brigadoon that only emerges from the mist periodically. Thankfully, those mist-emerging times seem to coincide more often with my hair appointments these days. read more

Mixed feelings on this one. I'm a newbie from MKE so when I finally decided to find a salon, I turned to Groupon. I walked in with my low effort honey-blonde coif and felt positive about the joint. My stylist seemed personable and also sensitive to what I wanted. I noted that I did not want to change my blonde color, just a root touch up and clean up. When I left, my honey tone diminished to a cool frosty blonde - all over. If you're a fellow blonde, you can understand my letdown. I addressed it at home and a week later, I'm back in action. It's great when you can get along with someone so easily and makes you feel comfortable. Everyone there is helpful, customer friendly, and extremely professional. I purchased a Groupon for full highlights, haircut and deep conditioning and made an appointment with Amanda. Right away, I was impressed with how polite the receptionist was, and it was fairly easy to get an appointment within a reasonable time frame. Often, with a Groupon, you can't get in for several weeks, but I called on a Monday or Tuesday and got an appointment for that Friday. Amanda was great. She is very friendly and made plenty of time at the beginning of the appointment to look at pictures I'd brought and talk about my desired style and color. She introduced me to balayage, which I really liked. The salon was also very clean and inviting. After reviewing the services, I felt their regular prices are comparable to other quality salons in Atlanta. I enjoyed my experience and made an appointment to return to see Amanda. read more

I found Fresche Hair Studio last year as a result of a Group-on offer and I am so happy I did!! I have been getting bleach highlights for as long as I can remember but had not really found a place I loved here in ATL, until I went to Fresche and had Abby as my stylist. She introduced me to a process called Balayage as an alternative and I love it!! No more head full of tin foil, the process is applied much faster and the results look awesome! The salon is is very laid back and comfortable and the carry a nice selection of products. They have monthly specials and a frequent customer rewards program. I could not be happier with this salon and I recommend Abby to any and all who are looking for great looking blond highlights. read more

This is possibly going to be long and complicated, but it starts with the fact that a few of my wedding party and I had our hair done here for my wedding last month and I've been trying to figure out how to word things since then. I had my hair done by AJ, who did a fantastic job and even though my hair started to fall out by the end of the ceremony a few hours later, this is sadly the longest my hair has EVER stayed in ANY updo so he gets major credit for that-- I am not dissatisfied at all with his work. My bridesmaid's hair was really cute, and she was quite satisfied, and even my mother in law who doesn't have much enthusiasm regarding her hair was pleased with her hairdo as well. My maid of honor, however... she spent five or ten minutes telling the stylist what she wanted in great detail (I know, I was sitting right next to her when she said it) because the woman couldn't understand what LD wanted-- a simple half up with a slight bump to give her flat hair some volume. LD's hair looked like she was getting fancied up for NASCAR. We ended up messing with it once we were all dressed for the ceremony and got it fixed, and it turned in to a "thing" that afternoon when we needed something to laugh about. I told AJ this today when I went in for my first real haircut in ages and he was very disappointed and wished he'd have known because he would have fixed it. My haircut with AJ, an every day run of the mill haircut, came out WONDERFULLY! I couldn't be happier. I have had some ridiculously disastrous haircuts with new stylists in the past, but I'm glad that the recommendation of a friend and his work for my wedding were good indicators-- I'm so pleased, I came straight home and told my mom to call to get hers cut next weekend. Outside of the style/ists, the salon is great. I love the Oakhurst area and know it well, and it fits in perfectly. It's very cozy, but also bright and welcoming at the same time. I've also definitely been swayed by the cup of hot tea I get every time I walk in the door! All in all, a great salon, and I would recommend AJ highly to anyone who has had bad experiences in the past-- he's really fantastic and listens to exactly what you want done with your hair. read more

Well I have gone back 3 times and each time back to Lori and well the first time she must have just had an off day (hey everyone is allowed one or two of those). Every time Lori gives me an awesome haircut and conversation. I will forever be going to Lori. I even converted the hubby! Thank you Lori for all you do for us. This salon is super cool and slightly better than others in that they give back to their repeat customers and constantly send out email incentives to their clients for all kinds of crazy promotions. Since losing my absolute favorite stylist from L5P Sweetgrass to a different state, I've been drifting between salons and have been consistently disappointed with the offerings in my area. I am a very loyal creature of habit, and I will go way too long without a haircut just to avoid a less-than-good one. So, I hadn't had a haircut in an embarrassingly long time, and this morning I just about lost it on my split ends. I remembered that Scoutmob had a 50% off deal for Fresche, which is right around the corner from my 'hood of downtown Decatur -- perfect! I made an appointment for this afternoon with no scheduling issues. Walking in -- COOKIES; then a smiling receptionist who took my coat and made me feel super welcome in the new-to-me salon. I ended up with Kathlyn, who apparently is relatively new to the Fresche team. Anyway, I explained my ~trust issues~ with stylists to Kathlyn, explaining that I essentially wanted updated layers, a bang trim and just a little bit of length taken off. Nothing complicated, but again with the trust issues -- in my previous experience with a prominent salon in downtown Decatur, cutting a "little bit of length" translates to lopping off 6 inches despite my request. I felt comfortable enough with Kathlyn to say that I'd like to consider a coloring appointment, and she was super helpful in explaining the Fresche processes as well as what might look good on me. I'm not a huge fan of divulging my entire personal life to a relative stranger, so I was glad that the conversation stayed pretty on-point about hair, hair care, and our mutual experience living in downtown Decatur. She spent a good amount of time taking care to style my hair and it looked AWESOME. For once, I wasn't making plans to cry in my car after the appointment & feeling like Samson. I felt the price point was incredibly reasonable and they even gave me a little goodie bag with FAF 20% coupons and a hair care sample. Went to Fresche for the first time yesterday for a cut and partial highlights. I was overdue because the last salon I went to (which shall go unnamed) really did a number on my hair and I was worried about getting yet another new stylist. Abby did an amazing job on my hair. She looked at a picture I brought, made some additional suggestions, and viola! Just a couple of hours later I not only look SO much better, but also can say that it matched what I thought the model's hair would look like on me! That's never happened before. Abby was a good listener, did a great job on the color selection for me and gave me a nice, precise cut that will last. Love, love, love it. She's also super friendly to boot! I signed up for the "VIP" list (texting service) and got a free eyebrow wax as well - also done very well! Will definitely be back! P.S. Let me start this review by saying I've never written on Yelp... but my happiness at FINALLY finding a truly wonderful stylist in AJ at Fresche has inspired me to write a review! A friend recently joked that when I talk about AJ it sounds as I'm talking about my hair life partner... and it's true. The whole process is collaborative: I tell him what I'm thinking, he gives suggestions, and then it always comes out better than I thought it would. This process has allowed me to feel confident enough to take risks with my hair (ex. blunt bangs) that I never would have otherwise. I've never gotten more compliments on my hair (both color and cut) before. On more than one occasion I've been complimented by total strangers... this never happened before I found AJ! Finally, I find AJ's services to be really affordable (no more than I paid when I lived in Athens, GA or Columbus, OH.) That's really important for a girl on an educator's salary, like me. I've encouraged anyone I know that's dissatisfied with their current stylist to try AJ and many have. So far no one has been less than ecstatic at the results. He's really a wonderful person with extreme talent. :) read more

After living in Atlanta for almost two years, I have finally found a stylist that gets me. I saw Lucy a few weeks ago and my hair was amazing after sitting in her chair! I went on the recomendation of a friend and I am so happy it all worked out. I went in with the hopes of having purple infused hair but really no particular color or style, more like a vague idea. Lucy helped me select something that was daring yet safe. Next time I will pick a more permanant version;) The salon was clean and everyone I interacted with was friendly. They offered products for purchase and made selections for my hair type, but did NOT cram them down your throat like some other salons. Lucy chatted with me pretty much the whole time which was nice and again, my hair looked great! I will be going back in a few weeks and I can't wait! read more

I started visiting Fresche in March 2008 after being very disappointed with several haircuts I received at other high end Atlanta salons. My first visit with Julie sealed the deal, and even now that I live in Texas, I wait to get my hair cut when I'm in Atlanta. I have never had a bad cut here, and in fact, the cuts I've had have lasted for months. I consistently get complements on my hair, even when it's been two or three months in between. Additionally, the color Julie has done has been beautiful and long lasting; my highlights were subtle and flattering without being overdone (you know, the "Oh, she has nice highlights" rather than "Oh, she has nice hair"). She is an artist! The staff is always friendly and helpful, the ambience is divine (very relaxed), and the location is fantastic (walking distance to some cafes and cute restaurants). For the quality of hair cut and service, the price is reasonable and in line with other higher end salons. I highly recommend Fresche! Update, 6/2011: While Julie is still divine, she is now at Liberty Hair Salon on Ponce. Without Julie, I don't think Fresche itself is worth it. They have such high turn over with their stylists--in the past, I would come in each time and there would be new people. GO SEE JULIE at Liberty! read more

I found Fresche through a Groupon and was pleasantly surprised. My stylist, Kate, was not only personable and had great taste, but gave me a fantastic haircut. I brought in pictures of how my bangs had looked before and she was did a perfect job bringing them back as well as putting layers in my previously stick straight and boring flat hair. Somehow she cut it in a way that makes it look like I styled my hair perfectly every day without me having to do anything! Both friendly and honest, she told me that my current shampoo is acidic and probably contributing to split ends, and recommended looking into others, but was in no way pushy about buying product from their salon. The atmosphere was very inviting-- I love a salon that offers a complimentary glass of wine. Kate also informed me they also do bang trims on short notice. read more

Came here for the first time to try out a new hair stylist. The receptionist assigned my appointment to Stephanie who straight away told me that if my appointment went over my allotted hour that they would charge me $20 more... which I ended up being charged, even though I was taken back to her chair 15 minutes late and ended only 17 minutes past 'the hour' mark. I had a picture of the type of hairstyle I was looking to get... my hair looks NOTHING like the photo!!!! NOTHING!!! And the haircut is very simple with longish bangs swept to the side.... she cut straight across and very short. I am extremely disappointed and angry at, not only the lack of attention to what me, the customer, wanted, but then being charged additionally when I absolutely shouldn't have been. I have been going to Fresche for years and they have taken such good care of me. They have stylists with different price points so there is some one for everyone's budget. The staff is so helpful and always willing to schedule my appointments that work for my schedule. I went to another salon to use a deal and they did my color totally wrong. What a disaster that was. I can't imagine getting my hair done any where else. I also love it that they are situated in such a great neighborhood near my house. Plus, I love the cookies and refreshments they offer me and the referal program is great! They also have great products, that are affordable. I can't wait to go back and get my hair done next time! Over 2 years ago, I purchased a Groupon for service with Abby - She's been my stylist ever since! She's taken me through blonde, red, chocolate brown with caramel highlights all kinds of fun colors :) I am always getting compliments on my hair which I try to pass along to Abby and the salon. This past May, I was going on a beach vacation and she was kind enough to teach me how to have picture perfect hair, on the beach WITHOUT a blow dryer! Definitely poor customer service if you got a groupon deal for this place! As soon as the lady knew I had a groupon her attitude toward me changed. Isn't that why you post these deals online, to get your business more out there/more customers?! As for the extra charge for long hair- They don't specify online but basically for "long hair" they charge an additional $20 for the top stylist and an extra $15 for the others. So basically if you have hair that runs past your shoulders you're going to be paying ALOT extra no matter how much you're deciding to get cut off... I have been to many salons. And I have been a little hesitant to visit this one for the sole reason it's the most convenient to my house! Ridiculous, I know. But after a bad visit to a big name salon I'd been visiting near Northlake, I couldn't wait any longer and with my friends this place has a great reputation and gave them a try. I sure wish I'd come sooner. First: go online and book an appointment. You choose the stylists the service and know the price. I'm a super up-front girl and this is the apex of business models. Nothing is more frustrating for me than salon secret pricing or the guess when game with a receptionist (can you come Tuesday at 2? No? Friday at 4? No?) I found out they offer more than "just hair" and if you don't know what you are doing, call Aimee and she totally walks you through it over the phone and is a great great receptionist. Walking in I had a few forms to fill, I was offered a beverage to relax (headed home from work after Atlanta traffic--yes please!) my stylist Jared was ready for me. I chose Jared after he did my daughters hair for a local pageant and i was so incredibly impressed -she looked amazing and won a prize. Anyway, jared and i chatted and he listened and I know I uttered the dreaded over-40 mantra "cover the Grey and just make it look good. Otherwise I don't care" and he was patient and did a truly amazing job. I haven't loved my color for years but have been unable to tell articulately why i guess --and he got it just right!! I'm not going to lie, it isn't cheap. But it isn't obscene. Its true -you get what you pay for and I paid for a terrific cut and amazing color job and I couldn't be happier. read more

If you live in Decatur or Oakhurst, it's convenient. Otherwise, you might want to find something closer to home as it is out of the way. If I pay more for a cut; I expect more. Anyways, I've paid around $35-$40 plus tip for men's cuts with three different stylists this year; and while I received a decent cut, fresche has yet to proven to me they can offer a stylish men's cut. Fresche markets themselves as offering stylish, trendy looks, BUT they never suggest any style or offer advice for men. For men's cuts, they're just okay. I have not seen a a huge difference in quality when I pay more for one stylist over another. The few times I have given honest feedback on their services, fresche has been quick to politely dismiss it. A loyal customer deserves better than that. If they can't take my feedback, they won't be taking my money. read more

My hair is pretty bland, but there's a lot of it, and AJ always sends me out feeling good. You can book appointments online, and sometimes they even have cookies in the reception area. Yum! I would NOT recommend visiting this Salon. I had purchased a Groupon for a Root touch up. I expressed that I only needed my roots bleached and no other service. From the get Go, they were trying to add fees and presented me with a waiver to sign. I refused. When a hairdresser is not confident that they can achieve your desired color/ cut, they want to insure themselves by having client sign waiver. Hairdresser said she would be able to bleach my roots to match my beautiful long blonde healthy hair. Well, after burning my scalp while processing and taking no steps to stop the burning, I realized they were not professionals. After 2 1/2 hours, rinsed hair and applied * what she said was a glaze toner. It did not penetrate through wet hair ( as it never could), and consequently my roots turned out BRIGHT orange. Their explanation was" We cannot use 40 volume peroxide. " I replied : Perhaps you should have stated that prior to damaging my hair ? It didn't matter to them that they literally fried my beaut8ful hair and burnt my scalp badly and left me looking like a clown with orange roots. This was the absolute Worst hair experience in my 30 + years of Having my hair bleached. At the very least, they should have offered to color correct or refund my money. They did neither. Lesson here, if you are asked to sign any kind of waiver, refuse and leave the Salon. If they are not confident in what they do, shouldn't be in profession. Live and Learn Peeps. My girlfriend wanted to get her hair cut and colored. She called the place and everything was good. She had an opening and was going tomorrow till she told them she had a groupon. The lady said that they don't have an opening for that............ I'm sure there are talented people there, but we will never know. It's too bad really cause she's a professional model and gets her hair cut and colored much more than most and she was simply wanting to try out a new place. I went to the salon for the first time a few weeks ago and I was delighted. The environment is very hip, the products are great, my stylist (Lauren) was really nice and knowledgeable (my hair can be a problem!) and I got a great cut. Highly recommend. read more

Maggie is amazing! Loved Fresche!!! I finally made the trek to this gem of a salon which was well worth the drive. The salon is located in an adorable location that has warmth and character as opposed to so many salons that are so sterile with their décor. Every detail in the surroundings makes it a very inviting place to get your hair done. As a result of my crazy schedule, the staff were able to accommodate me right away with my limited time. I have very thick and twiggy hair and desperately needed to get something new in my color to help brighten it up. I have had no time to get it cut and was just desperate for something to help soften my look before my team's newsletter pictures went out in the mail in late August. It was my good fortune that they turned me over to Maggie for my first visit to help me. She sat me down and listened listened tentatively asking me many questions on everything from styling to the direction I part my hair. She was really listening to how I did my hair in the morning as she inspected my color. Most importantly, she asked my opinion about how far I wanted to go with the highlights making sure we were completely on the same page. She made a few suggestions to me but made me feel comfortable about what suggestions she thought may work with my hair. We agreed to go with a layered cut that had a partial foil with color that was a little lighter but Maggie explained AND promised would look completely natural. No truer words were spoken. She managed to take so much of the weight that was really causing my hair to not style right. The layers she gave me were and *still* are amazing. She absolutely understands how hair works. Even with my quick growing thick hair, this cut remains intact and so easy for me to style. I am out the door in no time! However...it is the color was really what blew me away. She managed to color my hair that made it look completely natural. People at work commented on it immediately the next day and people are still asking me about it. She managed a perfect blend of all the dark blondes I have in my hair but yet looks completely natural. Now I am never one who can commit to anything in the future but I have moved my schedule around for my next appointment with her. Maggie truly is a masterful stylist and colorist at Fresche. In the past, I've had color dull quickly but yet the color and cut are still going strong. She is an amazing expert on hair but also has just good intuitive knowledge about color. Most importantly, she really took the time to listen and make me comfortable with her steps making sure I was completely satisfied with everything! It is very refreshing to find such amazing talent and heart as well and I definitely plan to return to Fresche to see Maggie again. Thank you Maggie!! read more

So I wrote a great review for this salon back in November, however; if you value good communication skills and want to know what you're paying for before they empty your bank account, stay away from here!!! lol But seriously, I went in to see Enzo in November for a color and cut and then went back a couple months after to get the same color because I liked it so much. I mentioned to a friend of mine what the name of the color was and he informed me it was a semi-permanent color....all the while I was believing it to be a permanent color since this is what I spoke to Enzo about in the salon!! So every time I washed my hair I was basically washing all my money down the drain. So disappointing. Aside from that complaint, I also called and scheduled an appointment to bring my son in for a cut and received the worst customer service. His appointment was cancelled 30 minutes before the appt time and they were not flexible in even rescheduling it! (that really didn't make me feel like a valued customer at all). So given both of these circumstance I was going to leave well enough alone and move on, but first I decided I should at least contact management to inform them of all of this so that they know why they are losing a customer this time. I called and spoke to someone who told me she was the manager and she was very receptive, nice, and polite. She agreed with me about the color mishap and informed me that in her opinion that should not have happened at all and she understood my frustration with being misled with that. She offered a solution of me coming back in for an appt with the owner, a master stylist. I asked specifically what I would have to pay since cost is very important nowadays. She told me that I would not have to worry about it, but that they just wanted to right the wrong that was made. I believe in giving everybody a shot so I went for it. Trying to make a long story short, I go in for the appt and at no time during the whole process did the owner EVER mention any costs associated with any of the treatments she was performing on my hair (nor did she ask if it was something I even had the money for). I was thinking that since the "manager" told me that I wouldn't have to worry about a pricey process that I really wouldn't.....my surprise!!! AGAIN! I got to the register to pay for, what I thought was going to be just a cut because I was led to believe the color was going to be comped.....negative. My total came to the full price of what I was paying when I saw Enzo! I did receive 50% off of the color, but I walked out still paying $150 for services I had no clue I was going to be stuck with the bill for. WTF. At no time did the owner, JOY, ever tell me how much anything was costing during her process. I was basically trapped and misled. Not only did I get rooked, but I have very long hair, I told the stylist I wanted to keep my length, after I left I realized she chopped off way more than necessary. (hmmmmm.....pay back?) completely unprofessional if so. The color was good, but the cut sucked based on that fact alone. As a habit, I did tip the stylist a small amount, but now I'm upset with myself for wasting my money on that. I will never ever ever ever step foot in this place again. If you go here, make sure you have a DETAILED convo with your stylist about what you're getting for what amount. Lesson learned to me and BEWARE to the rest of you all. read more

I had purchased a Groupon a while back for Fresche and finally got a chance to try it out. I was surprised that the folks there consistently sounded confused whenever I told them that I had a Groupon as I had mistakenly figured that they would appreciate knowing that before they started by haircut - as if they wouldn't try as hard to make my experience great. I was completely wrong. Everyone there is super nice - very much unlike the other salons that I have been in Boston before my move down south. AJ was amazing! I can't even begin to tell you how comfortable I was about being in good hands. He definitely knows his stuff, doesn't try to hard sell you in the products that he uses, and is so so so so sweet. I will definitely be booking another appointment soon. read more

There just aren't enough complementary superlatives to explain how fantastic Fresche Salon & Boutique really is. When you enter the door, you instantly know this is a place like no other. The vibe that Joi and her team have created is bar none the best I have ever encountered. The initial reason that I gave Fresche a try was fact that Joi took the time to list out her "philosophy" on her website (www.fresche.net) which included listening to her clients and making sure they can replicate the style when they get home...and that was 100% what I was looking for in a new stylist. As soon as I met her, I found that Joi has such an "eye" for the littlest of details...whether it's in the decorating of her salon, or the product displays in the foyer. Therefore it will not be a surprise to you that she naturally brings that exact same talent to every cut, color, and style. She is also unabashedly intelligent with business sense and savvy. Joi's emphasis on consistent continuing education for her team is not only fantastic, but clearly shows in the finished product - every client who walks out the door looks absolutely amazing! Another thing that keeps me coming back to Fresche is Joi and her team's passion and commitment to our environment through their partnership with Green Circle Salons. Joi and her team are not REQUIRED to participate in that program - they CHOOSE to, and it is making a huge difference. It's very inspiring to me that they have such dedication to our planet to take the time, money, and energy to do what's right when it comes to Going Green!! And as I have gotten to know Joi and her team over the years, it doesn't surprise me in the least that they do....they are all rock stars, and just genuinely amazing and kind, good people. For anyone (Men/Women/Children!!) who is looking for THE BEST (haircut, style, color, highlights, special occasion style, blowout, make-up application, whatever) heed these words: JUST GO TO FRESCHE.
