Seemingly changed ownership recently but at least kept their signature sandwiches which we keep coming back for. They are huge portions as well making them worth the asking price. Only issue I have with them is closing at 5pm on Fridays and sometimes even earlier than that. Makes grabbing dinner from them challenging. They also pass the cost of using a credit card on to the customer so bring cash or expect a 3% fee. read more

I'm sharing the review I wrote on Google here as well because I'm just so irritated about what really feels like a scam relying on the previous owner's work and connection with the community. If you take over the management/ownership of a shop, you should not get to rest on the laurels of the previous shop's good reviews. These good reviews are by and large for a shop that essentially doesnt exist anymore. I don't know when the "new ownership" that the banner above the store boasts took over but damn was this a disappointment. The first red flag was that the menus had AI generated images whereas the website had real pictures of each dish. When a restaurant uses AI images for their menus, it tells me they're not confident in their food for it to stand on its own. When a restaurant keeps the same menu items, but does away with the real photos for AI, that just feels like I'm not in a cozy Italian deli, but in a tech bro space where the owners think they can optimize everything with AI and that's the secret to success, not a human touch. They also clearly didn't go over the menu enough when they redid it (and made the font tiny as sin and impossible to read, not divided properly by type of dish, it's a graphic design nightmare), because ingredients that are clearly listed on the menu in some dishes they don't carry. The difficulty with reading the menu, the heat in the deli (no AC!), and my inability to tell what they actually did and didn't have led to me getting a mediocre cold sub when I'd wanted a warm one. I didn't bother correcting cuz i just wanted to get out of there. read more

The stores is very clean, well organized and stocked with different goods. I ordered the Rizzo which was breaded eggplant with ricotta cheese, sun dried tomatoes and balsamic vinaigrette. Fresco by Jimmy may be the BEST Italian deli in New Jersey. I treat myself to the incredibly delicious Luigi sandwich on a seeded roll almost every Friday after work (I seriously look forward to it every week). For about $10, you get generous portions of Italian meats, delicious mozzarella, chunks of garlic & the bread is FRESH and crispy. Yummmm! This place has everything I've ever wanted in an Italian deli and then some! Today was my second visit for lunch and I am very impressed with the freshness of their food. We've tried the J&J sandwich (perfect meat:bread), salmon kale caeser salad (dressing tasted homemade and creamy), chicken marsala on top of spinach (w/ 2 juicy filets served hot), stuffed grape leaves (yum), creamy New England clam chowder (best I've had in a long time) and gelato... all at affordable prices too. The hazelnut chocolates at the counter are extremely good and decadent. I'm not considered a chocolate lover but I think I will be for this one. This place is great! Great food, great service, great variety. Not this Italian neighborhood deli of years ago, it is more gourmet and has fancier stuff. That having been said I was so disappointed to see, in the midst of the Pandemic, staff preparing food with no gloves, no masks, not enforcing social distancing in the store, not requiring customers to cover their mouths and noses, I walked out after asking another patron where her mask was. That's when I noticed that the food preparers were not wearing protective gear either. It's sad. I'll never go back. They can wind up losing their business this way.... Either other customers will go bye bye, either to Whole Foods or to the big Italian deli in the sky. Come on Jim, get with the program. Serve curbside like everyone else in town. read more

Fantastic! The sandwich menu is incredibly extensive, all your favorites with a twist. The bread is fresh, meats and cheeses delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed the Greek salad with salmon. Their selection of beverages is unique, and deserts includes cookies, fresh cannolis, ice cream and sorbets, to name a few. We just finished a fantastic meal prepared by Jimmy. His sandwiches are out of this world, never had better. Everyone loved the kielbasa and kraut along with the penne pasta. One of the guests has a gluten allergy so he prepared a separate chicken and rice plate for her. Aside from the delicious food, it's so nice to enter an establishment and be greeted with a smile. This place gets it! With todays economy this place gives you a bang for your buck. They offer a humongous sandwich and a handmade bottled soda for $12. I could not believe it. It looks like there is new management again, so I decided to give it a try on a Sunday. The cooler displays are well stocked with pre-made salads and Italian specialties like stuffed shells, eggplant rollatini, etc. The odd part is 1/4 is dedicated to egg rolls. Like weird deli meat egg rolls. I did not try that, it did not sound good. I went with a Reuben and an Italian sandwich. Started with the Reuben in my car as soon as I left and was really disappointed. No toast on the bread, so the sauerkraut had turned the bread to mush instantly. The quality of the meat was not so great, and I couldn't taste 1000 island dressing at all. Not a good sandwich, skip that. The Italian sandwich on the other hand was pretty good. Again, not the best quality meat, so not the super salty bite I was looking for, but nice fresh veggies and great bread. Really, the bread saved the whole sandwich. For salads I loved the macaroni, but the potato was a little heavy on the mayo and tasted a bit sour. There is a lot of pre-packaged desserts in here from a Lithuanian bakery. Weird. No idea what that's all about, but it looks like jelly powdered donuts and coffee cake. Overall, an improvement with the new management. read more

My boyfriend and I ordered a whole sub from here. We were skeptical because we don't really try places outside of what we are used to but we gave this place a try. We ordered a Turkey and Pepper Jack sub and I really love that they use Boars Head meat and cheese. The sandwich was AMAZING, the meat was cute very nice, the lettuce were shredded soooo beautifully and the bread was soooo fresh and had a nice crunch to it. This place use to be good when Nigel use to be there. Now they have a bunch of kids working there that have no clue what they are doing, especially the girl that answered the phone. Had me waiting on the phone to just tell me price bc the last few time the same lunch meal I get is $9 one day $15 the next . When I come back to the east coast, the one thing I specifically seek out is a prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich. I simply can't seem to find them where I live now. They exist, but just not as readily available as certain other parts of the country like the one I currently sit in. I don't normally get my sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes and onions, but on this occasion I did. Not sure why. Just trying to mix it up a bit I guess. Those extras didn't really add anything to the sandwich. Normally I like my sandwich with the meat, the cheese, the bread and the oil. Simple. I think I'll keep it like that in the future. This sandwich was good with the extras, but when I got to a point in it where there was no longer any lettuce, tomatoes or onions, it was just about perfect. They give you a nice sized sandwich for $6.50. Pretty good price for this part of the country. If I had had some more money in my wallet on this occasion I might have tried a few other things they had in the display counter. Tons of very fresh looking salads here and other goodies. I just tried them for the first time, and I'm impressed. I was in the mood for 2 things I'm normally nervous to order out at a new place: NE clam chowder and Caesar salad anything. Well I was not disappointed! The soup was not just a thick blob with potatoes. It actually had a decent amount of clams, and was just the right consistency. The Caesar salad wrap was yummy.
