My review is solely based off so many times ordering from them I've never actually been to the location but so far everything has been DELICIOUS. Their chicken Cesar salad is so good with a generous amount of chicken. The chicharron de pollo and tostones are to really the highlight of this place. Their chicken is perfectly seasoned and has the perfect ratio from chicken to flour and it's just really tasty. They throw lots of limes in which is great too! Seriously though that chicken is damn good. Anyways, their smoothies and Patelitos are good too. Let's see if I feel the same going to the premises but so far so good! read more

The reason for my 2 star! One for the pastelito and one for the nice girl who served me the pastelito! The 3 missing stars you guys can blame it on the rude girl who charged me , very unprofessional and lack ethics! I've ordered a few times from here and I like it overall. Tonight I ordered the potato yaroa and I was disappointed. Instead of potatoes it was French fries that was strange. It tasted fine but I was expecting diced potatoes. Also ordered the Aloha smoothie without the kiwi or pineapple and it was good. I've ordered it with all the ingredients and didn't like it at all. The kiwi overpowers the taste completely. Delivery was normal considering how it was pouring rain. The delivery guy wasn't the usual one. This guy was pretty rude. I opened the door he handed over the bag of food and walked away without ever saying a single word. So glad I found this smoothie spot a couple of weeks ago! Their menu is super affordable. Small smoothies are only $4 and Large for $5! Very convenient for me in the morning on my way to the train. Decent juice place. We drove a bit to find fresh juices and I liked all the possibilities of drinks here. I didn't like that they didn't use tons of fresh product (canned peaches, frosted coconut flakes) but I guess we have to take what we are given. I wanted to try their food since the pictures looked so good. I ordered the fried plantains with chicharrón and I was given chicken tenders! If I wanted chicken tenders, I would've gone to McDonald's instead. I wanted authentic fried chicken pieces but I guess this isn't the place. Okay, so I reeeeally want to like this place because the owner is actually really nice but I can't stand the service. I HATE it. They really don't make it clear as to where you need to stand and order. If you want to order a smoothie you should order by the fruit side, or if you want to order a salad, it should be by the salad bar right? No. It's always changing. It's like I have to catch them when I can and yell it out. I guess you have to be aggressive at this place because everybody just yells things out and if not, your ass will get skipped. I am new to the area and was recommended by a co-worker to try this place that had fresh cheap salads. Upon arrival, there was confusion and dysfunction amongst the consumers and the staff. It was very difficult to place my order due to the language barrier also, I did NOT feel welcomed nor did they have much of a variety of toppings for salads. The (already cooked) chicken was taken out of the refrigerator and was reheated on the grill which in turn made the chicken EXTREMELY dry. Lastly, to sum up, my experience the staffed argued about the cost of my salad, nobody seemed to have a clear price and somebody had to be called for a definitive answer. Rate my experience, huh? I'm going to say this about this and every other so called place of business in the Fordham section of the Bronx. I'm tired of these Hispanic and Asian run places being racist. Today, my daughter and I went to this establishment for smoothies. They have a two customer at a time policy due to Covid-19. No problem, understood, but when one customer left, my daughter went in, while I'm still waiting outside. Upon her entry, two employees decide to scurry to the back and refused to serve her even after she asked to be served, and if you're wondering if she was wearing a mask, the answer is yes. So, we left without making a scene as I'm sure that's what they expected, but in their ignorance they opted to lose money rather serve all members of the public. It's really sad and disheartening that in 2020, I have to be subjected to discrimination, racial profiling and disrespect in my own damn neighborhood! What you racists should do since you wanna go back to the 50's and 60's is put a sign up that says you only serve people who look, sound and talk like you and that would avoid the frustration of writing about places like this. If I can save one black person from the frustration of getting their feelings hurt and stepping out of character, which is what they want in the first place , then this review was worth it. If it were possible to give negative stars I would give it -10 stars. To begin with my order took an hour and half to arrive. Once the food arrived it happened to be a totally different order from which I had placed. I called the restaurant to inform them of the mistake, I was then placed on hold for ten minutes. I hung up the phone and tried calling them, to no avail, the phone just rang. After 3 attempts at reaching them I was able to get through to a very rude Spanish lady on the phone. I've always said the small restaurants are the best. This place is full of love. When you let your employees work with music on and be themselves the food and service is always successful. Most restaurants try to upkeep a robotic behavior they assume everyone wants. This place is very down to earth and straight to it. No fluffers. They don't speak English in this place even though we are in America, they seem more friendly with their Spanish customers and make snide comments and gestures in Spanish about non Spanish customers...they really need to work on customer service...I ordered a beverage with a Spanish name and because I could not say it in English the person became annoyed and agitated. I suggest they get more bilingual staff and a dosage of courtesy...also when walking in the door I heard the staff say in Spanish oh brother here I come, how rude...if I have taken the time to learn key words in Spanish and not having a business that serves the public they should take the time to learn English when serving the public or just say it's for Spanish speaking customers only. read more

They have some delicious pastelitos especially the one that contains chicken. However, it is hard to purchase it as staff only seems to acknowledge Hispanic speaking individuals. The wait time is very long to get service and when they finally acknowledge you, one girl in particular always says "what you want?" Language barrier has nothing to do with providing great service to all, not just people of Latin culture. I promised myself I would never go there again but today I had a taste for the pastelito. One young lady clearly ignored me when I asked if they had any chicken pastelito. I watched as she and others only took care of those who spoke Spanish.
