Fresh mozzarella with prosciutto and I believe Sun dried tomato. Very good. I have been visiting Bronx Little Italy for a couple of times but always saw a long line that made me hesitant to go in. This time I came early around 8:30 Am. I was the third person in line. The store is super small especially at the ordering area. There's only small space for one person to stand so it's very difficult to exit while there are people behind you. I highly recommend coming here early before the crowd.

However, it was probably about 20-30 minutes before we took our order, so service is definitely fast! Inside is super small, but there are lots of Italian goods around to see. There are also blocks/rounds of cheese you can purchase too. We got The Casa, and ate it outside. Service was so kind and we even got to see them make mozzarella in the back! I don't think this sandwich was my favorite unfortunately. The bread had a funky smell(?) to it, and I feel like it fell a little flat on flavors and textures. Regardless, I am glad I tried and met the incredible team!

I don't even like eggplant and I'm in love with this dish. All of the sandwiches hit too. The Italian sushi is interesting, but eat it fresh as the arugula doesn't stand up to refrigeration too well. My perfect foodie day is going to Mike's, buying some mortadella and a ball of homemade mozzarella, then popping into Madonia's next door to get a loaf and some fresh hand-filled cannoli.

I finally was served by Chef David Greco himself. He beat Bobby Flay in Eggplant throw down. You can see the picture of him on the show. Dave is super friendly and engaging. The Italian sushi is definitely very innovative. Soft prosciutto is rolled in sushi style with filling of arugula, cheese, and sun dried tomatoes. There are two kinds of dipping: balsamic and pesto. Both of them are complimenting the sushi. Eggplant parmigiana is definitely a must try. It's like a lasagna made of layers of thin fried eggplant. You can make mozzarella pull. So delicious, not surprised that he beat Bobby Flay.

We went right at opening, only 2 tables taken and it took us 45 minutes to get 2 sandwiches. Meanwhile we saw plenty of other tables come after us and eat before us. The pasta salad had a black hair in it. Gross. We ordered two sprites that never came. The chicken parm was cold in the center (heated up my microwave??) and the top focaccia was SO burnt that we had to ask for a different piece. So they brought us a cold slab without even heating it up. This wasn't a fun eating experience and I would not recommend. The wait staff was pretty irritated and not friendly. We never even told them about the hair or sprites because it wasn't worth it.

It's such a tough decision will we share a three tenor hero with smoked mozzarella or the Pavarotti with eggplant. Our focaccia sandwich was huge and is enough for 2 of us. Everything here is just so fresh and delicious. The lunch crowd just left and I'm glad we were able to find a table. Delicious huge lunch that we shared, it was a real treat!

The Neighbourhood is chock, full of restaurants, pastry shops, meat markets, seafood shops, but the center of it all, is the Arthur Avenue retail market. It's a fantastic place. All of your shopping in one indoor space. You can get your groceries, your Italian meats, your veggies, you can stop in and have a beer, you can buy cigars, they had the only T-shirt shop that I saw up here, when Mulberry Street is full of them. You can get gelato, you can have a good glass of wine, you can have dessert, etc..... I stopped into Mike's deli (separate review) and tried the veal Parm that went up against Bobby Flay. It was excellent. I also stopped in at the end of my visit, to O'ccaffe, (separate review ) the pastry and coffee place right at the entrance to the market. The cappuccino was amazing, but the cannoli was a little bit different. I've always had my cannolis with a crisp shell. This cannoli, had a soft shell. The filling was excellent, but I just would've preferred a hard shell. Other than that, everything was fantastic. This place is worth a visit. Thank you.

I wasn't sure what to expect walking in on my own knowing Enzo's popularity, but I arrived early enough for what could be late lunch/early dinner. The wait staff immediately made me feel welcome, were attentive without hovering, friendly without being overbearing, and struck that perfect balance that makes dining alone feel comfortable. As I expected, the food was outstanding. I ordered the broccoli rabe and sausage in garlic and oil. It was everything I hoped: savory, flavorful, and filling. The slight bitterness of the broccoli rabe paired beautifully with the rich, well-seasoned sausage. I grew up in Danbury, Connecticut and am no stranger to delicious Italian food. Living in the South for as long as I have, it's really hard to find an Italian restaurant down here that can deliver on any pasta dish that doesn't use tomato sauce. Needless to say, this dish was heavenly. For dessert, I ordered an espresso and the lemon gelato, which turned out to be both delicious and memorable. Not only was it incredibly refreshing after the meal, with a bright, authentic lemon flavor, but it was served inside an actual lemon. The presentation was charming and fun, and the gelato itself was smooth, creamy, and the perfect way to end the evening. Between the excellent food, the welcoming atmosphere, and a staff that made a solo diner feel completely at home, Enzo's delivered exactly the kind of experience I was hoping to find on Arthur Avenue. I'll absolutely be back the next time I'm in the city.

Since our daughter was sleeping in the stroller we dined outside. My husband ordered chicken parmigiana with a side of spaghetti. It was quite impressive how thin they pounded the cutlet. It was super easy to cut into. The chicken was perfectly seasoned. I like the salad that it was topped with. It had cheese a lemony dressing with red onions. The only star I knocked off was because we had trouble flagging down a waiter here and there to place our order and get a check, but once we got the waiter we got what we needed quickly. We would return again in the future.
