Jessica was prompt to respond to our inquiry and multiple additional questions that followed. On the day of the event, Cutting Edge Catering went above and beyond our already high expectations.   From the venison skewers, ceviche and tacos for apps, to the chef's serving of macadamia nut crusted mahi and braised brisket, every item was delectable and visually pleasing. The staff were attentive and kind throughout the entirety of our elopement while staying on time with our timeline for each course. Even our venue owner complimented the kitchen cleanliness following their departure. Many people approached me during and after the wedding to tell me this is the best meal they've had on Maui, and just in general for a long time. Some particularly outstanding bits - the octopus leg was so tender and nicely smoked, the poke on rice crackers delicious, and the way they cooked their steak in the surf and turf entree was magical. My mother asked me if this wagyu from Japan, and I said no, haha. Multiple people asked me how did they prepare meat so flavorful and tender. They also had this fruit water which was so refreshing and delightful as well. Initially I was really wary of their tasting menu price, but I'm really glad I went with them. Chef Brian was really approachable and nice, and took my notes and incorporated them into the menu. The catering team on staff was also amazing. People told me they were impressed with the speed and professionalism of the staff!

Tiffany was very responsive throughout the planning process and brought a lot of great ideas to the party. The day of the event everything was stunning!! I had been initially referred to Tiffany Ward through my wedding coordinator & I'm so glad I booked Tiffany. I booked them in 2016 & unfortunately had to postpone our wedding to 2019 due to health reasons & chemo treatment. Tiffany was very understanding & was so wonderful to work with. She was responsive with all my emails, texts & phone calls. She also coordinated the equipment & furniture set up so it was one less thing for me to focus on. Tiffany helped me determine how much alcohol to purchase & accomodated my guests' dietary needs (gluten & chocolate allergy). Tiffany made our wedding go so smoothly. The appetizers, drinks & the main course meals were amazing! The tri tip was medium rare (cooked to perfection) & the mahi mahi was amazingly lousy & tasty! It's so difficult to cook for large catered groups that I wasn't expecting too much. Wow, was I blown away by the food! I ate as much as I could during dinner. At the end of the evening Tiffany had kindly packed a meal for my husband & me. Once we got home around midnight, we devoured our packed meals & they were just as tasty! Tiffany catered & helped coordinate a large part of the wedding. She also set my the ceremony chairs, reception tables w/ the centerpieces, a kids corner with blankets & pillows, 2 separate lounge seating areas for the guests. She also had to coordinate where our shaved ice vendors, malasada delivery & Photobooth vendors would set it. The day went along so smoothly mainly due to Tiffany. I woke up sad this morning that I couldn't have the incredibly fresh and delicious breakfasts we were served. And that was just the breakfasts! The farm-to-table produce, eggs & proteins, combined with Ryan's expertise, passion & service made each of the 6 meals we enjoyed (2 breakfast, 2 lunches & 2 dinners) truly spectacular. The photos of my plates don't do it justice. The sauces, seasoning & flavors were spot on. There wasn't a dish I didn't try & like, if not outright love & our group of 25 was in culinary heaven, anticipating the next meal we would be served. I can't even tell you my favorite meal or dish, although the tacos (ground venison & fresh fish) & everything that accompanied them (salsas, guacamole, Caesar salad with crispy capers & breadcrumbs, green rice made with luau leaves) was probably the group's favorite. Our hibachi -inspired dinner was a stand out with some of the best Kalbi I've ever eaten & a perfect coconut panna cotta. When we were going through the selection process and tasting each vendor's food, it was clear who had the best and most beautiful presentation (and we tried a lot of great food!). Chris really added a personal touch that I don't think would have existed with some of the larger vendors. We only had a day of wedding coordinator, so all meetings were held with us, and every meeting was met with courtesy and delicious snacks. Chris is not only a chef, but a great host, so he understands exactly what is needed to cater a successful party. It's not only about the food, but it's about the service, and the service at our wedding was also phenomenal. From beginning to end of our process Chris listened to what we wanted, but also made lots of suggestions to help get us thinking. Still when we talk to our friends about our wedding, they still rave about the food, and for us that was the priority. In the end we know we not only made the right decision, but also formed a lifelong connection in the process. We can only hope that he opens up a fine dining restaurant on Maui one day (we can dream), with his wonderful partner Jane. Chris and Jane (his lovely wife) showed up with everything needed for our delicious dinner. Chris thought of everything and we all felt very pampered and very full. Chris' prices were very reasonable and the dinner turned out better than expected and better yet than I had hoped!! We would hire Chris again in a heart beat. The floral preservation service SOW recommended was awesome, gave us clear instructions, and was super sweet when we dropped off the flowers. The venue was STUNNING. I knew it would be pretty from the photos we had seen on the website but it was absolutely breathtaking in person and felt like a dream to get married at the Kailana Chapel and Gardens .
