Received the bag and it appeared small so I weighed it and it was 6.6 ounces (187 grams). And that's WITH the mylar bag. Hmm... one freeze dried egg weighs approximately 0.5 ounces or 14 grams. This approximately matches the nutritional content of an egg which is 7 grams of protein, 6 grams of fat, and 0.5 grams of carbs when you take out all the water. So each pouch was actually 12 eggs, not 72. When I contacted them to ask about this discrepancy, they didn't apologize or admit that they made any mistake or had incorrect information on their site. They just said matter-of-factly that I could send the items back for a partial refund (i.e. they wouldn't reimburse me for shipping). Really? Not cool.

I spent $10 for it (Trader Joe's sells one of theirs for 5.49), and I got home to find out it was a month expired. This was not a frozen item, so I feel more sketchy about it. This was the one I was most upset about. $10 for something a month expired (specifically over due on 10/21). I'm having mixed feelings, because I find that this place is so super cute, and has so much to offer SLC, and communities where the Co-op donates time and money. But... I just don't want all of my non-frozen purchases to be expired. Did I miss something? This place would have easily been a 5/5 for me. But based on this... I'm feeling more 3-4/5. They also have some local produce in stock and other items too, this is a great place to buy local and support a smaller business. The prices are just as good as whole foods (unless something there is majorly on sale) or lower than whole foods for bulk items. A lot of the stuff is way cheaper than buying it a regular grocery including raisins and the all expensive chia seeds. If you eat raw, vegan or just eat a lot of nuts and seeds, this place is the place to shop in town for your needs. The staff is super helpful, that makes me want to spend more of my money on items even if they aren't as cheap as other places. They offer a small selection of fresh fish near the frozen seafood. The produce is fresh and well stocked. Pantry items like sauces and can products are plentiful. They also have a small area near the checkout that houses prepackaged noms and some fresh bakery items. I always puck up some nem chua for the house. It is so tummy!
