Once upon a time vegetarian fast food was considered a pipe dream. Grabbing a quick bite to eat on the road? You'd better pack a cooler. (Who wants gross fast food anyway?) But if "vegetarian" and "fast food" could be combined concepts, Freshii would be it. Healthy, fast, organic, and delicious, Freshii will be my go-to place for road trip food. Or picnic food. Or anything like that, really. Even just a bite to eat. Basically, if you are vegetarian, or vegan especially, go here. I'm not kidding. You can build your own burrito (or bowl) and --wait for it-- you have unlimited toppings. I don't know if that's as exciting to you as it is to me, but let me tell you the days of going places with friends and frowning at my limited options are over. The days of a vegetarian burrito = beans, rice and onions are over. I can load that sucker up with chickpeas, cucumbers, black beans, tomatoes, you name it. And I can eat it all. At first you might think the prices are a bit much, but when you realize the burritos are as big as your face, and the unlimited toppings, suddenly it's really, really good. I was very impressed with my experience at Freshii. I'm glad they are expanding and I wish them the best of luck. It's my hope that one day they are all over the country and that when I make my road trip to the US I can pull off the highway and order Freshii in a drive-thru. Well, a girl can dream. Till then I will definitely be packing a cooler filled with Freshii burritos. PS: They deliver. (I know, RIGHT?!)

I found the taste somewhat artificial, and it was a bit too sweet for my preference; I'd probably request less sugar next time. The service was quick, and the store wasn't crowded. I found out that Heartland Centre has an Edo Japan. I love this franchise. It's Canadian and I like the food offerings. It took me nine minutes to drive over to this eatery. It's across from Best Buy and JYSK. Skechers is nearby. What I like about this location is that it's sandwiched between Starbucks on the left and Copper Branch on the right. I love all three businesses. I was pleased. I had no problem finding a parking spot. I backed into an available one and walked over. This eatery is large and clean. A male staffer was taking a break and chowing down. There was one customer waiting for his order. His order was ready. As he went to fetch it from the counter, it allowed me to look at the chicken ramen deal. The ramen has tonkotsu broth and it comes with a fountain drink. Sold! I got a nice, friendly woman who took my order. I went with the chicken ramen soup combo. I had my Edo rewards barcode scanned. I earn points that convert to dollars that you can use towards the cost of a future meal. Sweet! I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was done. I got a cup for my drink. She gave me my order number and said that it would be called out. I used the fountain drink machine. I filled my cup with ice and then Diet Coke. I put a lid on it and fetched a straw. My drink tasted crisp and great. I refilled my cup before I left. I sat closest to the window. The male staffer was where I would have liked to have sat down, because it was a two-seater table and I'd be closer to the machine. I got another two-seater table closer to the window. The nice female staffer came over with my ramen. It was a nice service touch. I appreciated the gesture. She said that she was happy to do it. So great! It's one reason why this place gets a perfect review. The service was stellar. The chicken ramen was excellent. Sure, it's fast food. It was good. The chicken was tender. I loved the veggies. It had corn, which was awesome! The ramen was thicker than I had imagined it to be. It was yummy. I liked the broth. It probably had more pepper than I would have liked. However, it was delicious. It wasn't salty. The pork flavour was mild, but good. I drank it all up. I put away my tray and disposed of everything. It was easy throwing away each item, as the garbage area listed which items go where. I used the washroom before I left. There were two single stalls. One had a large button to open the door for accessibility. I used the one without it. The stall was clean. I also liked the hand drier that allowed me to put my drink on top of it. I enjoyed dining here. The food and drink were awesome. Staff were friendly and excellent. I'd return again when I'm in the area. (17)

I ordered the chicken sandwich and it was made to order I visually saw them drop the chicken into the oil, so it was a little bit of a wait but I knew my food would be hot and fresh. The sandwich was a lot bigger than I expected and they used a different bun than I'm used to. The breading was delicious it was not too thick, it was crunchy, and the chicken was juicy it is breast meat but it was juicy. I chose spicy I think the sauce that they use is what makes the spice not the actual chicken itself I could be wrong but the chicken itself didn't taste that spicy to me. The bun that they use is good quality bun but I did find that it was a little bit too dry I would have preferred the regular soft bun that you normally get at other fried chicken chains. Overall it was delicious the chicken was delicious and it was extremely filling halfway through the sandwich I was starting to feel full, I couldn't imagine if I got a combo and had to eat sides on top of the sandwich. I do think a big part of it is the bun The bun is filling on its own.

Veggie Paradise specialises in Veg take-out (call ahead), Frozen/Dried meals and ingredients. I write "Veg" 'cause it may be even Vegan, as opposed to just Vegetarian. They also do custom vegan/vegetarian cakes/pastries. This place is run by 2 sisters and their workers. As soon as Sandra heard that I wanted something to eat, she prepped me with an Asian meal - as opposed to their other meals that are more popular amongst gwai-lo. Meal comprised of a soup (looked like Tom Yum, but not sweet/spicy), a separate plate with Rice, Bok Choy (chopped with garlic), & a portion of fermented Mustard Greens with Green Peas (this was medium spicy). The meal was tasty, yet rather homey as it wasn't overly salted. I really felt like I was eating at an aunt's house! This place is located in a rather industrial, catering to Vegans/Vegetarians (or people who just enjoy the occasional veg meal), so just call ahead if you want to order something! The sisters will even offer you a sample if it's available. :)
