FreshMade was everything I could ask for and more!! I took my two nephews and my two daughters there today for an early birthday cooking class Gaby and Kristen (I think) were phenomenal. They were lively, patient, and so easy going. The children were ages 6-12 and they found a wonderful recipe that was both challenging yet achievable with the window of time. The environment, instruction and food was top notch. Cara was exceptional to work with when setting up the class. She was responsive, accomadating and understanding. I cannot recommend this place enough and I see ourselves going back for many more classes to come! read more

I love Freshmade. It's my favorite activity to do with my 3yr old. He is active and scattered (like most 3yr olds) and they keep an appropriate pace for that. The teachers are extremely knowledgable and clearly very kind. It's a treat to be able to attend virtually since I no longer live in NYC. I recently worked with owner, Cara, to organize a team building event for a group of 15 people from my company and it was a HUGE hit! We were so impressed from the minute we arrived at Freshmade. A New York City Cooking Studio and Event Space, Freshmade is a wide-open, chic SOHO loft space. The venue incorporates a plush, loungey, discussion-area at the entrance. At the back of the space is the equivalent of two chef's kitchens, which serve as a backdrop for two massive communal dining tables/work areas. We began our evening with BYOB wine in the lounge as we waited for all of the members of our team to arrive. Ready to get our CHEF on, we spent the next portion of the event decorating our own personal chef hats and aprons. The energy was light and fun, in anticipation of the main event--preparing a meal together as a team. Our challenge consisted of three courses. First was the appetizer, Baked Arancini with Creamy Tomato Sauce. Next, we tackled homemade pizza at Freshmade's DIY Pizza Bar. Lastly, yummy Coconut-Nutella Ice Cream for dessert. For many of us, even the task of boiling water seemed daunting, so it was incredible that we, with the help of the knowledgeable Freshmade staff, were able to create a beautiful meal, that we could then enjoy together. An evening filled with laughter and community, our customized event at Freshmade, incorporated all of the ingredients necessary to bring the members of our team together to work towards and achieve a common goal. This place is a hidden gem! Cara and the team worked with us to organize a small corporate event and it was a hit! From the custom wine glasses to the apron souvenirs, everything was well thought out and organized! The venue was clean, adorably decorated and the perfect space for a small team building event! I would absolutely recommend bringing your kids for a visit to Freshmade. We had a blast cooking at this CLEAN and welcoming studio. My kids made apple donuts, and they were delicious. This place is AMAZING!!! During the day they primarily do classes for kids but in the evening they do corporate events and adult classes. I recently organized a private adult cooking class for 13 of my friends and Freshmade exceeded all of my expectations. The founder, Cara, is the best. Extremely helpful and flexible during the whole process. She will help you design a menu that is best for you, tailor the flow of the event to your liking, and be available for you by phone or e-mail whenever you need while you are preparing. The level of communication and attention she gives her customers is outstanding. She even went out of her way to meet with me on a Sunday so that I could drop off wine for the class. Did I mention that it is BYOB? We got the menu AND experience we were looking for. Cara's team was amazing too! There were multiple people on hand during our class to instruct us, lend a hand, and keep the atmosphere lively and fun. This isn't a class where you are stuck in one place around the table and speak to just the one person next to you. The room and staff make the environment fun so you are bouncing around socializing with everyone (including the staff because they are so fun!) while music plays in the background. And all the while you are learning new tricks and recipes for the kitchen. Whatever your desired mix of learning, cooking, and socializing, the staff here will cater to you. Also, Freshmade is primarily a plant-based cooking studio but will cook chicken or salmon with your group. I originally was wary of reaching out to Freshmade because I am not vegetarian and wanted a menu that incorporated chicken. If you like meat don't hesitate to contact them! All of our food turned out delicious and there was so much of it! Even with our group of 13 people there were leftovers. The cost of a private Freshmade class is also less than every other class I researched in NYC! It is a steal! So rather than taking a public class in a stuffy business where the menu is pre-set and includes items I don't love I was able to pay less, invite all of my friends, curate my menu, bring my own wine, and have 100% confidence that I was going to have an amazing time. The personal touch that Freshmade puts on a cooking class is unmistakable. They even made a personalized chalkboard sign, hung banners, printed instructions, prepared a strawberry rosé welcome drink, provided new aprons and chef hats for us to decorate, use, and then take home, and gave containers for us to take all the leftovers. They are the definition of going above and beyond. Going into the event I had no doubts that it would be a huge success because of the effort they put in even before we arrived. Freshmade NEEDS to be your next cooking class. They are the FULL PACKAGE! After my Freshmade experience it just seems silly to go anywhere else in NYC. Thank you Cara and the Freshmade staff for going so far above and beyond with our experience. We will certainly be back and telling everyone else to do so as well! read more

We attended a 5th birthday party in which siblings and parents were invited. My husband said afterward it was the best kid's birthday he'd ever attended! No kidding, the Mexican menu was absolutely delicious -- so many fresh and lively flavors, and a lot of variety in the dishes. The jicama tomato cucumber salad with lime dressing still makes my mouth water. The black-eyed pea salsa -- OMG. Not to mention outstanding guacamole that my kids learned to make, too. Have to shout out to our chef that day, Thomas, a veteran teacher from the Early Childhood program at Children's Aid Society, who is an outstanding teacher of young children and a terrific chef, too! read more

We hosted our son's 5th birthday party here together with his classmate - and it was one of the best birthday parties we've had! The children absolutely loved being hands on and making their food (garlic bread and tacos), and the yogurt bar and flatbread spread that the Freshmade staff created for the adults was delicious. Our children loved it so much that they've been coming back regularly for afterschool classes - the best is seeing our son talk about the importance of stock. Came across this place one day while out and about in the city with my daughter and son. Both are 4 years old and I had them attend one cooking class. After that, they fell in love! We attend class once a week and I've seen the most incredible change in my children! This place is unbelievable! I've recommended this place to so many of my friends and their kids love it just as much. Such a loving, respecting, and fun place! Definitely worth it!!!! It's crazy that I have to write a review about a place that I haven't even been to. Thanks FreshMade NYC;-*. I was interested in having a private event here for my birthday. I went on their page and filled out an inquiry form expecting to hear back from them within 24 hours. SIKE! I heard nothing from them. After a week I left a voicemail to find out what was going on, no one answered and I left a voicemail stating that I was calling to follow up on a recent inquiry that I made. Two days later Cara returned my call, and she honestly did not even know what she was calling me for, and ended up saying she was going to forward my information to Eliana who handles parties. it has now been a whole week and still no word from Cara or Eliana and at this point I'm done, I don't want to have the party here anymore and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone based on their lack of professionalism. My 3 year old son took a class here this past fall and really loved it. The teacher/chef Andrew was fabulous with the children, very engaging and instructive and kept the class flowing perfectly. They made delicious and healthy meals which the kids ate at the end of the class together. I also learned a lot of tricks by watching the class and talking to the staff. My son now likes to help me cook at home, and talks about the class constantly.The class size is small, good for all ages. It is a truly wonderful place, highly recommend it! read more

I brought my daughters to Freshmade for a few cooking classes recently and I was so happy that my daughter tried Quinoa and new ingredients! Just from taking the two classes, I see a change in my daughter. She is willing to try and experiment with eating more foods. I will be doing many more classes and camps at Freshmade!!
