They have been working with women (and men!) who have been trying to conceive naturally or who are going through fertility treatments. The clinic is cozy and comfortable and it is conveniently located in Port Clinton Square right across from the Metra Station in downtown Highland Park. Parking is free for the first three hours. I highly recommend this place for the best holistic treatment on the North Shore. They have amazing practitioners and I can't imagine going anywhere else!

I had just moved and had received similar care where i moved from, but not under one roof and not with therapists who specialized (& understood) in fertility care. She was rude, condescending, and rolled her eyes at me during a consultation. She exclaimed that I kept cutting her off, which is totally false. After giving her my account of my fertility journey, she was dismissive in a sense, because she totally ignored my concerns about having a second opinion. I was giving her my medical record account and questioning what I had been through. She looked at me with dark eyes and absolutely no human reaction. It was the darkest moment in my life talking with a physical, let alone professional. Do your research on her. Chatmon also felt the need to match me in medical jargon. I told her that I had a medically assisted transfer, and she reframed it as another term. She continued to do this throughout the consultation. It is like she was matching me in who could term medical vocabulary best. Her demeanor was hostile and aggressive. Toward the end of the meeting, I informed her how I felt about her tone and low vibrations. She rolled her eyes at me like I stole her from her wallet. I have never felt so disrespected and disregarded. She has absolutely zero social emotional skills. Although I have complained, I have gotten no response from the managing staff. I can surely say that this was a major red flag.

Where do I even start? This is going to be long, but the IVF process is difficult, and the decision…read moreas to which clinic to go to is important, so, take your time to read it and don't make the same mistake we did. A little background. Me and my wife do not have fertility issues, we discovered we are both carriers for an extremely rare genetic disease, so that's why we are doing IVF, to not pass it on. Let's start from the beginning. 1. The initial meetings with Dr. Schell should've let us everything we needed to know. She was late for our first few meetings. Not 2 minutes late, like 20+ minutes late. This was after we sat in the waiting room for 30 minutes because no one was working the desk. Why wasn't anyone working the desk? Because the receptionist is not only the receptionist, she's was also the phlebotomist, and ultrasound tech. She did everything. 2. Communication is non existent. As we are going through the process, we are told nothing, we call, we message, time and time again, we can't get a call back, can't get ahold of anyone. It takes weeks (not exaggerating) to get a call from them to answer questions. We are told nothing except "we'll send a message to Dr. Schells team" and we hear nothing for weeks. In spite of the disgusting and shocking lack of communication, we somehow make it to egg retrieval. We have a great success of 27 eggs retrieved. We were so excited! Communication was a little better for a short time, then, it stopped again. We hear nothing, can't get ahold of anyone. Then on November 4th we get a call from Dr. Schell. She calls us to tell us none, zero, as in 0, of our eggs made it to blastocyst. Let me remind you, again, they tested us, and we do not have fertility issues. Heartbroken. Here's where we really get pissed off, Dr. Schell calls us, and doesn't know who we are. She thinks my wife is 26 (she's 33). Then shes talking about a fresh transfer, which we cannot do because the reason we are doing IVF (both carriers for generic disease). So we have to explain to Schell why we can't do that. Unacceptable insanity to call patients and know nothing about them. It's like they don't keep files on their patients. When she made those 2 unacceptable mistakes, I wanted to blow my top on the phone, but that wasn't going to help and it wouldn't them any less incompetent. So, I bit my tongue. 3. Fast forward to November 23rd. After 19 days of trying to contact them and being ignored, we finally hear back. The bad news? Once again they have no clue what's going on. The nurse who calls us has no idea we have already been through a cycle and are currently patients of theirs, no idea we've been trying to go through a 2nd cycle. She's clueless, utterly and completely lost. So this is the 2nd time we've been called and they knew nothing about us. We had to set up a "consultation" with Dr. Schell a week and a half out just to be able to have a conversation with our doctor, or anyone from her team that can answer a single questions for us. Yup, that's correct, we had to set up a consultation thats used for new/prospective patients just to be able to talk try and get questions answered. 4. So, 19 days after we got the bad news none of our embryos made it to blastocyst, they have not even started the process to get us set up for our 2nd cycle. They've sat on their hands and had done absolutely nothing for almost 3 weeks. It was at this point, we decided not to waste anymore time or energy on these idiots. As we are speaking with other clinics, a miracle happens, they CALLED US! They called to tell my wife to get back on birth control, we told them "okay, you got it", and went about our search for a new clinic. The hilarious part is, we never heard from them. As far as they were concerned, we were still going through a 2nd cycle with them. They didn't know we had decided to go to a different clinic. And we never heard from them again! So, if you go here, you will need to harass them non stop or they will literally forget you're there and you won't make it through the process. In conclusion: The IVF process is hard, it's emotional, it's draining. Me and my wife want so bad to just have a healthy child together, and this place is disgustingly incompetent. I can't believe they have a license to practice. As a husband who has had to see his wife go through non stop frustration and pain only to be made worse by the incompetency of this place, STAY AWAY from advanced fertility. This place is a dumpster fire, truly an unmitigated trainwreck. The lack of communication, and competency, it's truly shocking. I can't say enough bad things about them. I could go on for another 500 words about how awful they are. STAY AWAY! DO NOT GO HERE!

We trusted her enough with our care to fly halfway across the country back to Chicago to have her treat us, despite having moved to California and knowing that there are plenty of fertility doctors out here just as reputable. Dr. Feinberg and her staff made sure that they went out of their way to treat us as if we were living next door. We received phone calls after hours because of the time change and Dr. Feinberg never hesitated to answer any question that we had, regardless of the time of day that we asked it. Our care was coordinated brilliantly, our concerns were handled brilliantly...it was all just great. I truly can't say enough about Dr. Feinberg which is why I came back to Yelp to update the review. If we hadn't already decided that we were going to stop growing our family at two children, I'd consider going back for a third just to be treated with the care and respect of Dr. Feinberg and her staff. There is absolutely nothing good to say about these people, except that their receptionists in Highland Park are darling. Everyone else, and I've dealt with most of them, should go into a profession where they don't deal with people and their incompetence isn't so risky. Zero communication! Ask questions? You're a trouble maker. Follow-up? You're a trouble maker. Don't follow-up? You're blamed for a problem with your cycle or scheduling or something. Really unbelievable that people put up with this. If you want to waste your money and get mistreated, go to FCI.

The woman who performed the procedure completed also did it for me in 2022 downtown, and she's competent and efficient. There was no one at this location when I was here in late afternoon--really, the waiting room was totally empty whilst I was here, there was a single receptionist, and I didn't hear anyone else anywhere so it was surprising how quiet it was. I thought I'd try this one because it may be just as close with the added bonus of the the parking being both easier and cheaper. The cheaper part was definitely correct, since I was able to find a free spot on the street. But that took a few drives around the block (don't be fooled by the 15 minute parking spots--though my appointment was quick enough that I may have been able to use one). I also struggled mightily trying to find the place. I could see that there was an outdoor nameplate saying Northwestern Medicine on the corner of the building, but I sure as heck couldn't figure out how to get there. I walked around looking for an elevator since the steps only went to the plaza level, but didn't find any. I even called the office (and got the downtown location, I think) to try and get directions on where to go but finally stumbled upon a lobby for the building across from Harmony Coffee. There's an elevator in the lobby, but if you need an elevator to get to the lobby level I'm not sure you'll find one.

Having had a good experience previously with FCI (specifically Oakbrook Terrace, now Hinsdale), we decided to work with FCI Glenview due to being close to my work. Let's just say we were glad we made the switch and to one very close to home! From day one, working with AFCC was smooth and comforting. Insurance costs were discussed up-front, so we knew what was our responsibility. Each appointment was welcoming and generally convenient. On a side note, when I was at FCI, they opened their doors at 6:30 am for blood work and ultrasounds. The Crystal Lake location is open at 7:30 am...a little less convenient for those who need to go to work early but not a deal breaker. However, I only saw Dr. Irani during the initial appointment and worked mostly with his nurse, Ashley, for every blood draw and ultrasound. It looks like communication though with Dr. Irani and Ashley was solid because I can proudly say that I am 2 weeks pregnant from a successful IUI procedure (and after the 1st try!!). They know what they are doing! I will be seeing Dr. Irani for my last appointment, which will be for an ultrasound and I believe, final consultation. Thanks again, Dr. Irani, Ashley, and the rest of the AFCC team! We highly recommend this place to those living in this area!
