Earlier this year, I was injured while visiting a local business. I was looking for a personal injury law firm. There are so many to choose from it can be bewildering! I highly recommend Blake Friedman as an injury attorney. Just over one year ago I had the unfortunate moment of walking alongside a swimming pool and stepping on the skimmer cover, resulting in my foot flipping the unsecured cover and my leg dropping into it just below the knee. I fell forward and landed face down with my leg inside the hole and breaking my humerus in three places and separating it totally from the shoulder socket. This resulted in severe pain and the need for almost a month is a nursing facility and physical therapy. After approximately 3 months of therapy and hopes the shoulder would heal, it became clear to a surgeon I went to that the separation was too far apart to ever heal so surgery followed and I had a reverse shoulder replacement. It is also expected that I will need some assistance in my future with self care as I am a senior citizen. My first contact was with one of the big billboard law offices that say how great they are. When I told them what happened and showed photos of the location of the event and my injury, their first response was that since it wasn't a slam dunk easy win and they said a jury would just call it a scam, they turned me away. They only spoke to me on the phone and wouldn't let me book an office appointment. They had a woman answering the phone that screened calls to determine if they were worthy of taking their time to review or not. They didn't even give it much of a look via email of info or hear the whole story. They just said no it would be too much work and it was probably my own fault, or a case of it being no one's fault but just an unpredictable event. I was feeling pretty let down and hesitant to reach out to any other attorneys and thought about it a couple more weeks. When I d coded to try one more time, I chose not to go with a big billboard company, but instead to find one who was independent and would have their own law firm. Long story shortened now, of course the insurance company did t want to pay right away and sent their own experts, only to find our facts were correct. Their offers to settle were low and lower than my medical expenses.
