Horrific experience! Recommended work I didn't need and resulted in me having to get a root canal and then a possible tooth extraction. I soooo wish I received a second opinion. Probably the worst dental office to go to by far. I'm an easy person to work with but this place has the worst customer service out of any businesses I've ever visited. It's was nice at first during my first appt for a cleaning when I still had braces on. I didn't receive a cleaning that day b/c the Dr came out to the waiting room and recommended me to create another appt in the future when I get my braces off (which was really soon). So I made a new appt for a cleaning & x-rays, and came in on time during the day of my appt. I was called in by the dental assistant to take some x-rays, and ended up waiting in the operatory room for 2 HOURS past my appointment time. I had no idea why I bothered waiting that long and I'm frustrated that as every minute past, I would be helped by someone. Next thing later, one of the older front desk lady came to me presenting a treatment plan saying that I need 2 crowns and 4 fillings. Like what??? First off, I had yet to get an exam by the actual doctor, and I was not even seen by the hygienist yet at all. I understand that you can determine decay based off of my x-rays, but that is definitely not sufficient unless a dental professional takes a look around your mouth. I have never seen anyone present a treatment plan for a patient prior to being seen by a dental professional. In response to my treatment plan, I had to call a family member to determine our financial situation (probably a 5-10 minute call) since each of those crowns are worth ~$1,000 each. We decided against getting them, and just move forward with my cleaning. I informed the treatment coordinator of my decision, which she responded that while I was making the call, the Dr skipped me and moved onto the next patient, so it'll be another 20 minutes before I can get helped. By this point, I was already angered because I was already waiting 2 hours in the operatory room, and they decided to skip me because they didn't want to wait 5-10 minute for a phone call regarding my treatment. I will not be coming back and I do not recommend this location b/c they are trying to rob patients of their money. I think they are purposely targeting patients who don't have much dental knowledge, but unfortunately, they picked the wrong person since I used to work in the field. read more

I've been a loyal customer and patient to this location for 7 years. Today that ended. I scheduled a simple cleaning 6 months ago and when I got the text reminder last week I called to see if I could move it to Friday and they stated they were booked 3 months out so I CONFIRMED and stated that was fine and I would make the Thursday appointment work. I then moved around my work schedule to accommodate. I received 3 text messages that stated my appointment date and time and 'See you then!'. I did not receive any calls as the office claims to CONFIRM my appointment, which I already had done a week ago when I attempted to change my appointment. Fast forward to today when I arrive for my appointment where I am informed that I lost my appointment because I did not confirm and would have to wait an unknown time to 'be fit in'. The 2 front desk girls should be ashamed for making someone feel stupid for something that they actually did do -- CONFIRM THE APPOINTMENT. Not to mention, their text messages never stated to reply to confirm. So how am I supposed to confirm AGAIN if I never received a phone call. I am embarrassed by the lack of care and regard for patients' time at this location. read more

Today, it was totally disrespecting the fact that I needed to be back at my office by a certain time, and not being prepared for me when I arrived. They are INEPT, INCOMPETENT and DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR FUTURE BUSINESS. They will feed you all sorts of bull to keep you there longer, and keep you waiting for hours upon hours to get done with 5 minutes of work. SMH. SO DONE!! read more

This chain is your typical bad dentistry operation where they tell you need a bunch of work but you don't after visiting a "real" dentist office, and they try to put you on a "treatment plan" that will last a year and cost several thousand dollars. I made an appointment for a teeth cleaning, and they brought me in and charged $115 for xrays and for the dentist to recommend $5k worth of work, and wanted me to schedule a teeth cleaning separately. I was very clear when making the appointment that that was what I was coming in for, and they did not correct me at any time to say they would not be doing a cleaning at the first visit. I go to the dentist twice a year, and just came here as we just moved and aren't planning to stay in the area long so didn't put too much effort into finding a good dentist. Stay far away. I have no idea how they have so many good reviews; they must be fake. The dentist didn't even act like a real dentist, wore cargo pants, didn't speak professionally, reminded me of a slacker-type guy in a movie. (This review is for the Northlake location, but as they are all owned and operated by the same folks, it'd be safe to say that they are all the same.) read more

This dental office is the worst. This establishment had one Dentist when I went that books 3-4 patients for the same appointment. Example: four patients will get called in at the same time for the same 10a.m slot. The Doctor than rotates room to room, starting/setting up each patient. Friendly dental Doctor than leaves and heads to the next patient, doing a small portion of each procedure on each patient, one after the other (a 10.am turns into a noon appointment here). After numbing my mouth and leaving me in procedure room for 45 minutes, I asked the receptionist how long it would be, she expressed "They have a problem with booking 3-4 patients for the same time slot". This establishment also expressed I had cavities, I actually didn't have. That worries me. After rescheduling I visited another Dental office that expressed I had no cavities. If you schedule a appointment be ready to be seen a hour later and that's when they are not busy. Had a filling schedule today for 11 and was taking back fast they started the process and then an hour half goes by and no one came in to see me. walked out the front desk people couldn't believe I hadn't been seen yet. I started going to this Dentistry a couple of years back and it was ok at the beginning then I started bringing my husband with me to take care of his dental. I notice our EOB that was not reflecting the same charges that we were shown on the paperwork of the treatment that was given to us at the beginning. When I started to compare the charges and the treatment-friendly dental decided to charge for services we had not even used. A great example is filling cavities of teeth they mention 2 cavities need to be filled however they charge the insurance 3. They also triple charge Medicaid if you have one. I notice all these things all these years. They don't even have customer service skills to this dentistry we are just money symbols since it a chain of dentistry. The last time I called to talk to someone about billing 3 months had passed and I was able to get a phone call back but no one called me back. I had to call back a 4th time and I was frustrated because they are always wanting to take money from us. Especially the Spanish population they do there for one thing and they come out with things that we don't really need I would not recommend this place to anybody. read more

This place is awful stay away **** look up the average price of a crown on the web ..they overcharge by thousands ..they offered to do 3 payments then said no crown until you pay in full. Just got my teeth fillings done and I was amazed at the quality of service. He explained everything that he was doing while he was doing it and also was caring to keep asking how I was doing throughout the process. I was so nervous at first but quickly felt relaxed and in good hands after the doctor told me he had been doing this more than 15 years. Also, he did not do unnecessary fillings. We had our first appointment and did not get called back until over 30 minutes past our appointment time. We rescheduled the remainder of the next morning. The entire building is miserably cold. The lack of cleanliness in the restroom was brought to the attention of the young man at the front desk. Almost 2 hours later, the trash can still full of trash, toliet paper and paper towels on the floor, and hair in the sink and on the floor. The same hair that was there at 9am when they opened this morning. I hope the equipment they are using on my son is cleaner the facility appears to be. read more

Let me start by saying: I have NEVER had an appointment with a dentist where I didn't see the actual dentist! I went to Friendly Dental of Whitehall for a standard cleaning - and left out without one. Upon going into the office I was quickly taken back to get xrays - only to wait in the chair for 45 minutes before actually being seen by the hygienist. Upon meeting the FIRST hygienist she tells me that I may need a deep cleaning. Which I was fine with - until another 30 minutes go by and another hygienist comes in to measure my gums and tell me that my gum are fine and they look great etc. Which leads me to believe that I never needed a deep clean to begin with and that Friendly Dental - Whitehall is trying to take me for a fool. Another 15-20 minutes later the receptionist comes over to tell me about a treatment plan - it was then that I find out I need a filling when the FIRST hygienist told me that I did not have any cavities or need any additional work except the "deep cleaning." - I was too angry to argue and I had already been there for 2+ hours. The receptionist also informs me that I cannot have a cleaning until I get the filling and then proceeded to tell me that they have to "assess" what kind of cleaning I needed. I am betting they will make a mess out of the insurance claims and I fully intend to call them once that billing statement arrives. This place is a joke and I am betting half of the reviews left are false. This place is dirty as well and looking at some of the equipment - I am glad I did not get a cleaning here and will be taking my business elsewhere. Please don't try to apologize and say sorry for the way I feel or my experience etc. because it is clear that Friendly Dental - Whitehall is taking many customers for a ride and upping the bill for profit in any way they know how and that is wrong! read more
