Really an bad experience to my husband, hes going to knee surgery next month and the Dr asked for him get a pri operation exame with an dentist , well I call them and explain what we need , the secretary book a consultation, my husband went there, had a consultation and dental cleaning with the dental higienista lady and she says you have no problem!! the Dr will give to papers to you take to the hospital, but surprisingly , the Dr refused to give To him. they charged almost 400 dollars and left the clinic with empty hands , so sad and frustrated ! I have been to many dentists over the years and have changed frequently for one reason or another but have been happy at friendly dental for about 5 years now Lauren the hygienist is very outgoing makes you feel like a friend not just a mouth. The numerous Dentist all seem great , I have met a few already but they seem to have a turn over rate faster than you can feel comfortable saying ... Yes this is who my Dentist is. I have been fortunate enough that I can schedule my appointments around Dr Kia's schedule because I really like her work. I have been going to friendly dental for 7 years. I've seen all of the doctors except the orthodontist and all are kind, experienced, and personable. I need periodontal maintenance too so I go there at least four times a year. My last cleaning was completely painless and I'm not the greatest flosser.... I've never had issues with any of the staff. I find the new front desk staff to be very friendly and helpful with insurance questions and appointments. I am never "up sold" on anything like whitening, etc.; in fact, I just came from an appointment with the endodontist (nice, funny, and handsome), thinking for sure I'd need a root canal, only to find out that I don't. Money back in my pocketbook:) I feel badly that the others here on yelp have had bad experiences, but I would recommend the team at Friendly Dental to anyone. I've watched them grow over the years and have only seen customer care improve along with the growth. My whole family and I even drive an hour to get here now, having moved out of the area. I have never seen a place go so downhill so fast. The staff there is almost entirely new, I don't recognize anyone. My usual hygienist isn't there anymore. They gave me to some girl that I thought was going to yank my fillings out, I was sore for 3 days after her "cleaning" which was basically torture to sit through. When I asked where the usual person who cleans my teeth was, they said she wasn't here today, and it wasn't until AFTER I paid my co-pay did they tell me she wasn't there anymore. Then they started poking every individual tooth with this cryptic looking pick, claiming that they were "measuring", I have no idea what. Every time I asked questions about what was going on (because it was things I have never had done in the 10+ years I have been going there) I was met with a huff, and vague answers. Then the Dr. came in for an exam, and him and the hygienist started to sound like a used car dealership, playing what felt like this high-pressure sales games, trying to sell me whitening, night-guards, scaling, crowns, panoramic x-rays, even braces. When I questioned going to a "real" orthodontist, it was this panicked game of "oh, no, don't do that ... we can do it ALL here, it'll be so convenient" This office had to have changed owners, They have gone from 5 stars to 1 star (and they don't even deserve that) in my book. The whole experience felt like a scam. Also, less than 2 weeks after my visit, I wound up with an abscessed tooth, could have been coincidence, but I wouldn't doubt the torture-artist of a hygienist may have had something to do with it, with all her yanking and pounding. Needless to say I went to the first dentist that wasn't Friendly Dental to have it taken care of. I WILL NOT BE BACK... oh, and the new decor .... is hideous. read more

I had a less-than-positive experience as a child with dentistry and have been fearful of dental work for my entire adult life. I neglected my teeth for years until I woke up one day in horrific pain. Desperate for relief I googled the nearest dentist and stumbled upon Friendly Dental by sheer chance. To my dismay- I needed a root canal to try to save the tooth. I actually discussed distraction as an alternative to avoid the experience but the doctor talked me out of it (thankfully) and spent over an hour with me answering all of my questions, walking me through the procedure and made me feel comfortable that I could get through it. To make a long story not longer, not only did they save the tooth but my experience was so much different than I had feared for so long. The doctor talked me through each step of the process, stopped if I needed and made sure I was 100% free of pain. This was 12 years ago and I have been a patient ever since. While I will never love going to the dentist I love Friendly Dental for helping me overcome my fears and allowing me to have a healthy smile. I enjoyed their services so much that I actually went over to their orthodontics department as well and got invisilign. Worst experience ever! My family and I planned on moving from Boston to Worcester after our kids finished up the 2011 school year. Just before our move, my 12 year old daughter was approved by Network Health for braces while we still lived in Boston. She met with an Orthodontist who put her top bracets and bands on, but waited to put on the bottom set. Just after the initial appointment we moved to Worcester and proceeded to have our childrens doctors and dentists transfered. I had no problem getting things situated, until it came time to transfer her orthodontist. I found Friendly Dental online, and thought okay I will try them. I called In June 2011 to set up an initial consultaion, after explaining fully my situation. The soonest appointment they could offer was late August 2011 so I took it. My daughter was seen and had xrays taken. They told me where my daughter has Network Health all they would need to do is submit the xrays and a request for transfer to the insurance company and everything will be all set. It may take a few weeks, but there shouldn't be a problem. I felt very relieved that she would have an ortho in Worcester soon. This was until I received no word from Friendly Dental at all for weeks. Which then turned into months. I called the office asking for the status on my daughters transfer and I would get the same excuse each time, a receptionist assuring me that someone would get back to me but nobody ever did. After weeks of unreturned calls, I finally was able to speak to a woman who claimed to be the office supervisor. She insisted that all the paper work had been sent to the insurance and we were just waiting on them to give us the okay. Again I waited.... Each week I would call and speak to the supervisor and each week it was the same song and dance. Finally after getting no answers I decided to call the Insurance company myself to find out why it was taking so long to hear back. They told me that they hadn't recieved anything from this Dental Office and told me I needed to get back in touch with the Friendly Dental to have them resubmit the paper work. At this point I am beyond frustrated. My daughters initial appointment with Friendly Dental was August 2011. We are now in December 2011. I called the office and pleaded with the supervisor to please call the insurance and let them know the paper work had been sent. Please I begged, try to get this moving. I dont understand why this is still going on.. She again assured me dont worry its gonna be all set. Shockingly I didnt here a word from her for weeks again. Finally I call the Office and at this point I am furious and no longer want to deal with the supervisor, receptionist, or anyone other then the head of the office. I ask for the name of the owner, they give it to me and I want now to speak with her, they tell me she's already gone for the day. So I leave a very detailed message urging the owner to call me as soon as possible. I never heard anything. Nothing. Not a thing! I finally called my daughters original orthodontist explaining the nightmare we experienced. They were appalled by the lack of customer care and welcomed us to come back to there office for the rest of my daughters dental treatment. I now have to travel back and fourth to Boston for her care which wouldn't be a huge deal if I didnt work so much and getting her to her appointments can be a bit tricky. I have never experienced such a lack of customer care, especially in a field that is supossed to be empathetic and about their patients. This place is the complete opposite. They are awful and I would never recomend them to anyone. read more

I would keep away if I were you. They told me my son had three cavities that needed to be filled. I went to another REPUTABLE dentist and was told he had no cavities. Sound a little fishy???? Also, staff is very pushy and can be rude. I really think all they care about there is how much money they can make even if it means telling you that you have cavities that don't really exist. Fancy tv's in the patients' rooms and massage chairs in the waiting room doesn't mean you are getting a great dentist and dental staff!! Just Beware!!!! read more

I was not happy with the level of professionalism found at this dentist so I decided to try a new office. (This is just my opinion and the opinion of one of my relatives, you may love the place) However, everybody should be advised of the following: When I asked to transfer my records they charged me $25.00 to do so. So even if you like this dentist be warned that it will cost you if you have to move away from the area. It can get expensive if you have to move your entire family to a new dentist. read more

My many bad experiences at Friendly Dental are about to come to and end . I have 8 children and my new wife who now will be looking for a new dentist . I gave them many chances for a couple of reasons. First is Dr Feeley is a great dentist. Second my kids and new wife where in the middle of procedures . My problem is the front desk they are the worst for many reason . When they are wrong they never admit it until you mention you want to speak to a doctor. Almost every time we go there they tell us a price upfront then when you go back its always a higher price . Also when they give you 50dollar referrals you can't use them or they up the price 50 dollars from the earlier quote big scam .Then when you ask to speak to a person in charge they never not once called back .the people at front desk call you back . The previous times I answer them and they did try to make it better .But the problems come back on your next visit .I've had enough. read more
