The redemption area is a joke? I recently went to get service for machines not working but facility was unmaned? I went to the liquor store to get help. After a 10-15 minute wait i returned to store because nobody came. I was then told some one would be there.2 people then proceded to come,but stopped on the way for a vape and chat break? After a 30 minute wait, the machines were fixed in 15 seconds. read more

Stumbled across this gem heading through town. Was looking for premade drinks. The owner was very friendly and pointed me to the right aisle. Even recommended this locally produced margarita in a bottle. Can't wait to try it out and come back! Mecca for foreign beer, and all sorts of Scotch, single and blends. Been coming here for 15 years, and quite honestly it's worth the trip. They make Dejulios and Kappys seem amateurish with their domestic swill. Plenty of parking. read more

Friendly has an amazing selection of wine, liquor, beer (craft and otherwise), mixers, liqueurs, and...well...pretty much anything you want to drink. Heck, they even have diet Ginger beer! which, even in my neighborhood in Brooklyn (which has a predominately Caribbean population) can be hard to come by. Awesome! And they are, indeed, friendly. These guys have absolutely no clue what customer service is, or how to treat customers (or just fellow humans). Today, a manager decided that it would be a good idea to loose a regular customer over a 35 cent dispute. I can't believe how petty they were. I had some experiences with rude employees here before, but this is really the last straw. Will never return. read more

Don't bother coming if you don't have an MA license. They don't take many out of state licenses because they haven't updated their ID scanner in ages so it won't recognize newer licenses. I've had it happen to me multiple times here and they promise they'll update the machine but next time I stop by it still isn't updated. Has happened to not only me, but a few others I know from various states that are trying to visit family in town and pick up beverages on the way. read more

Update: Really disappointed in these folks. My beau, his sister, and I went in this weekend to prepare for Memorial Day. Mind you, we're regulars, and my boyfriend for once forgot his license. The trip was impromptu--and he wasn't driving. We grab our liquor, it's obvious we're over 21, and we're regulars, yet we were all ID'd. Boyfriend didn't have license, we couldn't purchase. I understand the law is the law, and you can technically pick and choose when to ID. It's Memorial Day weekend, I understand, it's a liability. This is how the conversation went: "ID's please" "I'm sorry, I didn't bring mine today." "Then none of you can purchase." "OK, we will take our business elsewhere" "Yeah, have a good time, good luck with that." Totally unprofessional. If she had said "Hey, we're sorry, we know you're regulars, but it's Memorial Day weekend, we need to ID you" it would have been way better. Shame on you for horrible customer service. read more

I live in town and stopped going there two years ago. I go to other local stores or drive to Total Wine and More In Shrewsbury. What pushed me out was an experience I had with a male cashier who wasn't doing anything, yet seemed really put out when I approached the checkout with my purchases. To make matters worse the big lummox couldn't even fake a thank you! I had been a customer for years and the previous owner was a really nice guy, and the staff went out of their way to help you. I went home and told my wife how rudely I had been treated. I called the store and complained to the manager (he doesn't have much of a personality either!). He apologized and offered me some points on their reward card, I think, but I haven't been back since and have no intentions of doing so ever again. read more

Regarding the discounted wine tables: I guess the prices are reduced to unload stuff that didn't sell very good I tried 4 different bottles , all marked as " discounted " , priced from 5.99 - 6.99 , I have no idea what the original prices were. anyway, i tried different 4 bottles and all 4 were terrible. Just really bad . they should throw that stuff away instead of passing it off as something that is drinkable. business like this is bad ! read more

We jokingly call it UNFriendly Discount Liquor. The selection is great, location is great, the nice guy who walks around helping patrons is great. The cashiers are extremely unfriendly, pushy and their demeanor makes me question the name of the business all together. We avoid if possible. We live in Northbridge but drive over to Lynchs in Uxbridge-nice family owned establishment. read more

Wow.. This place has it all.. It is a hidden gem in central Mass. The store is very clean and organized.. Everything is bright and well stocked. After their renovation about a year ago they have really kicked things up a notch. Amazing wine selections, over 3 aisles of craft beers, and a liquor selection that you would expect to see in a big store in Boston. They have all the regular stuff but they also carry hard to find and unique selections. Also they do free tasting events all year long. They do small tasting seminars and large in store tastings. The staff is very educated about all the products and very helpful. Consider yourself luck if you live near this store..I am a new regular! read more

I found myself in Whitinsville and popped into this liquor store for a bottle of white wine. The business is located in a strip mall next to a CVS. I was surprised when I walked in to see how big the store actually was - it's deceiving from the outside. It seems like they have a large selection at reasonable prices. The staff was friendly and very helpful. While I was only here for wine, they also have a great selection of spririts and beer as well. A nice find and I would certainly recommend. read more

Friendly Liquors has very reasonable prices, a great selection, friendly employees, and it seems like they keep trying to make their business even better. When I first started going, the middle of the store seemed like a kind of overstock area with a lot of empty shelves. Then one day I walk in and they've turned it into a nice little wine area! Sure it's not as extensive as say a Julio's but it looks like someone in there did a good job on researching local and non-local wines to fit every person's taste. You can even accumulate points with each purchase so once you hit a certain amount, you get $5 off a purchase of $25 or more (500 point minimum). Sure it's not fantastic but it's a nice touch. I'd love to see them do more tastings of a variety of spirits because it looks like they have the room to do it. P.S. you can bring in your cans and bottles to recycle in the back. Booyah! Five stars because for the location, you will have a hard time beating their selection in beers, wines, scotches, liquors, schnapps, and prices all in one place. My next favorite place to go is the NH Liquor store off 93 and that's a little too far away to be convenient :) read more

I grew up in town and have been to Friendly Discount Liquor a number of times. Their selection is excellent - wine, beer, liquor, you name it. The guys in the back are helpful and friendly - I like to try different craft beers occasionally, and they always give great recommendations. The ladies up front, however, are always incredibly rude and unfriendly. I've heard other people (and saw another reviewer on here) say that the women are only friendly to men. I don't shop there anymore despite the great selection because of the terrible customer service at checkout. read more

My stepfather is very into bourbon and mentioned some liquor store that he traveled to because of their wide variety and great prices. On Christmas Eve my wife and daughter went in to get a gift for my father. My wife has difficulty walking, especially when it's icy. While in the store, an employee told my wife that our daughter could not carry the beer for her because she was not 21. Forcing her to carry the beer. As they were walking in the parking lot my daughter was carrying the beer so my wife could keep her balance. An employee came out into the parking lot and publicly yelled at her leaving her in tears. At no time did the staff offer any alternatives, such as carrying the beer for her, or lending her a cart so she could carry it. In speaking to the manager, who did not give his name, he said they were going to enforce the rules and it was my wife's problem to get help or ask for help. Since the manager was not present in the parking lot, he really has no idea what tone or words were said by his staff member. I'd give this establishment 0 stars if possible for their complete lack of customer service. We will never shop at this store again. read more

The guys That come help out while you're looking around are great, friendly and nice. But the people up front.... And I hate to say it but it's the woman. Aren't too friendly. My daughter and I went yesterday. I was only planning on buying a couple of things but ended up with more so I couldn't carry it all so my daughter carried a wine cooler to the counter for me. The cashier asked her for her id and she replied that "their my mom's". He looked at me and said quite meanly I couldn't buy because she carried it. I said "What"? He replied that it is the state law. I didn't know if he meant only the wine coolers she carried or my other bottles. I just left everything on the counter and said I would buy someplace else. Ma Gen. Laws Ann. 138 section 34 states a minor can carry if with a parent or legal guardian. The attitude of the cashier was terrible and I will not go back there. There are many other places to buy liquor. To top it all off, this was on my birthday! read more
