All things said and done, Overhead Door replaced my 2003 townhouse garage door and gave me a…read morerefurbished motor free. The schedulers, first technician/salesman, new door installer and finally, the manager (who finished the job himself) were polite and competent. But that said, I had to hold my ground to get what I thought was the job I contracted for: a new garage door and motor installed, (AND I thought, the new exterior door trim caulked to keep moisture getting into the exterior siding). My garage door was backed into by a hit and run driver. A couple services calls and several hundred dollars later, the technician suggested that I consider a new garage door. I assumed this included a new operator motor which was 15 years old. I put down my $750 deposit and a a few days later my door matching all the other doors in this townhouse complex was installed. I inspected the installed door before paying the remainder due. The exterior trim wasn't caulked allowing moisture into the exterior paneling. The door was north facing and the day before was blowing snow onto it and a storm was coming the next couple days. The guy said Overhead Door didn't caulk anymore. Which meant I had to hire another contractor to do that. The old motor was not replaced. Why hadn't the salesman told me that? I had to wait for a motor breakdown which the guy admitted was imminent, another service call charge, waiting for the $300-$400 motor in addition to the price I'd just paid? I had the installer connect me with his manager and said I wasn't paying any more til the job was completed right. The manager to his credit told me that the guy would caulk the door that day or the next. And he personally would install a motor (refurbished I found out) himself a couple days later. And he painted the caulking which was definitely going above and beyond to make it right. Lesson learned - know what you are purchasing! Is it a complete garage door system including operator with appropriate caulking /weather protection? Do you have dry rot or something that will stop the job dead in its tracks when trim or hardware is removed? You are responsible for that. I want to emphasize that no matter how hot under the collar I was every Overhead person was polite and professional. And the final result was done right - just before the next storm.

Recently we tried finding a closer shop to have keys made for a desk, but everyone we called was an "e-business" and wanted a $29 service call for starters.
