8/3/26 after fueling with premium gas our car died roughly half a mile away from this location. We witnessed many other people with dead engines at the pump and being towed from the highway after fueling. We were told water got into the tank because of not sealing the cap to the underground tanks properly. We were three hours away from home and we are down an essential vehicle due to this situation. I will say the employees were very helpful and claimed responsibility, however this is majority inconvenient since we rely on that car for work and repair time is unknown. read more

Well let's start and keep it short and sweet. I'm stuck in this town because I got bad gas from this gas station and I'm 800 miles from home. My gas was 95% water. Spoke to the local sheriff and was told when I tried to sort this out that they had someone earlier in the day complain about having issues with the gas and their car...maybe you should check the pumps and make sure you're not pumping out literal water. I just bought this car and now I'm stuck. It is 7am, I have been stuck here since midnight. read more

Headed out of town and stopped for breakfast and gas. The lady serving food apparently had no desire to be there mush less wait on customers , as she was extremely rude. The food was thrown together in the box instead of being prepared for consumption. Dirtiest and grossest place I have ever walked in. Bathrooms, floors, toilets, and sinks were gross. Black wet dirt on floors. Walls were dirty and floors were dirty in stores. I saw they had tables to sit down and eat, but I would in NO WAY recommend eating in this place. I couldn't get out of there fast enough! Stop somewhere else. read more

This is a fairly new Travel Center but unfortunately the place is unkept and dirty. Trash in the parking lot, walls in the toilet stalls nasty. And even though it was breakfast time and we were hungry we didn't feel confident that the kitchen area was clean. The staff has always been friendly. Until management cleans the store up we won't be back..and that is sad. read more

Very clean restrooms and an awesome store packed full of delicious food items! I have stopped at this gas station/convenience store several times and it's always clean with a great selection of sandwiches, drinks, cheeses, and fruit. read more

Every time I go for breakfast they are all gossiping and not paying attention to the customer in the deli not trying to sound racist but every time I go they get my order wrong . Something needs to be done about it. The manager of the store comes out and says nothing to them. read more

I love this facility as it is tractor trailer friendly. there's an entrance and exit which is what I like and they put soap in their scrub bucket. But with that being said the customer service at this location is awful RUDE RUDE RUDE. All of the women in there have an attitude. it doesn't matter who u are they have an attitude. then one of the employees is straight up talking smack to the customer. It is not cute to sit there and bicker, go back-and-forth with anyone let alone a customer. Fire all these bitches and let them go get another job with their impeccable attitude. Have you ever been stranded on on a Highway with no gas before? Ohh...my my..I thought this would never happened to me, and yet it did. So never say never. Don't ever jink it. On the way back from Hilton Head Island, SC my bf's car ran out of gas. Before stopping at Friendly Gus Travel Center, we've stopped at at least 10 other gas stations and none of them had fuel. Sorry, let me correct myself. All the gas stations I've been to shut their fuel station down after midnight. What the... I never knew that. I panicked so bad, because it's already 2 am, the roads are so freaking creepy, not to mention the fact that there was no light on the highway and outside of the gas station perimeter. I wanted to cry after we got to the 4 gas station and still there was no gas. So what happened next? We had to stop next to a midnight restaurant, which was the only thing that still had light, to call triple AAA. It took Triple AAA 40 minutes to deliver gas to us, but they only gave us 60 miles worth of gas...and that 60 miles got us to Friendly Gus Travel Center. I was beyond happy to see the Gas Station so well lit, and the fuel station is still on. Thank you, Friendly Gus Travel Center for not closing your fuel station after hours. You saved my life. I believe Friendly Gus is off exit 54 on 400. Moral of the story, try not to travel at night...and don't wait until you have 50 miles left to get Gas..who knew Georgia can be so scary..oh and the whole time I never let go of my bf's gun... read more

You have to take any trash you want to get out of your car up to the front door of the store . There are no trash cans by the gas pumps. However, there are scrub brushes to clean the windshield and lights with. The bathrooms are done on a low budget theme. With not much room to pass by other urgent guests. There is only ONE urinal and it's at the height of a little boy, so steady your aiming hand. read more

This is a newer business with a small area for trucks to park on the asphalt and a larger dirt lot for additional parking. Went inside yesterday evening and the staff was friendly and food was decent. Went back inside this morning to shower and when asked for an additional towel because I have long hair the reply was I will have to charge you an additional $10.00 for another towel. One of the towels we received was ripped up! The sink in the shower room is one with a sensor rather than letting you turn it off and on. Hot water is the only choice because of this so you get to brush your teeth with hot water.. My husband had issues with it trying to rinse his razor as it wouldn't stay on long enough at a time. Water pressure was decent. Someone needs to take the shower curtains down and wash them as they have crud all along the bottom. The way it is set up is for the shower water to drain through the floor drain in the middle of the bathroom floor and they provide paper floor mats so your feet are going to be wet the entire time. They really need fans because it is extremely hot in there so you sweat while trying to get ready after you shower. Whoever is cleaning them needs to pay better attention to detail because there was no toilet paper dispenser was empty except for the tubes inside rolls of toilet paper. The daytime staff leaves a lot to be desired. They were extremely unfriendly and impatient. The guy cleaning knocked on the door while we were in the shower room saying he was told it was ready to be cleaned. I hope he enjoyed the view he got when the door was swung open. I absolutely would not recommend this place unless you are desperate for a place to park. read more

I've stopped at a lot of places along I-16 and Friendly Gus is hands down the best. Clean restrooms, friendly staff and believe it or not, some of the best food I've had. Their chicken fingers are awesome. I live in Atlanta and every time I pass through, I go out of my way to stop here every chance I get!! read more

I wish I could give negative stars. This place is terrible. They shut the lights off to the entire pump area WHILE WE WERE ACTIVELY PUMPING GAS! This was 10 minutes before closing time. There was no notice or warning. My husband even went inside to purchase a beverage while I was pymping the gas and they gave no indication of pending closure. The sudden darkness caused me to get gasoline on myself in the dark. Then they locked the door and wouldn't let me in to wash the gasoline off of myself. This was still well before closing time. Also, echoing another review...there are no trash cans outside. Should be renamed "unfriendly gus" read more
