Friendly Movers were amazing and I cannot recommend them enough! I was moving my mom from the home she lived in for 20 years into St. Barnabas and she had a lot of heavy pieces, cabinets with glass, a grandfather clock, etc. The crew was super careful, efficient, took all the pieces that needed to be taken apart and reassembled, everything went so smoothly! We had everything torn apart before they arrived so they were in & out in no time. The total was even less than the quote! They were respectful of our furniture & both houses. I am really sad to have to write this review as I have moved twice with Friendly Movers. Once was wonderful and so I used them again. This was a mistake. They damaged/broke a bunch of our furniture including making a bed frame unusable by breaking all the supports, chipping a chunk off of my West Elm bar, deeply denting my filing cabinet and breaking off the knob off of my media center. On the positive side, they did bring everything into the house. On the negative side, they were quite surly--which was frustrating because we had actually moved a significant amount of boxes ahead of time and the movers were done before the minimum time. What is most frustrating is that I called the office almost a month ago once I had realized the extent of the damage (We have been in a state of renovation for almost 8 months and there were other factors) and was told that if I provided a service (I do), that I wouldn't address any complaints that came in a year and a half later (I absolutely would and do). I did not receive any kind of apology or accountability just that it was my fault for not complaining sooner. read more

I'll be the first to admit I was skeptical about hiring movers. I couldn't have been more wrong. We hired three guys from Friendly Movers to take everything out of our 2-bedroom apartment and move it into our new home just a few blocks away. They were finished and on their way out in less than three hours. I've never seen anything like it - they navigated our couches out of a lofted apartment with ease and stacked boxes on boxes to get them onto the truck quickly. Just one tiny scratch on an old table despite their speed, which was impressive. They were kind and professional, too. They're extremely hard working and a great bunch of guys. They completed the move within the quoted time and I have already recommended them to everyone I can. If I could give ten stars for the Friendly Movers I would. In fact, I liked them so much that I might go and write two reviews at five stars each so I can give ten stars! These guys are moving ninjas. They pick up boxes and furniture and move with the skill of an actual ninja. That is the only way I can describe them. They are fast, efficient, careful, and skilled. When moving me out of my second floor condo in 90 degree weather with 100% humidity never did I once hear them complain. Not once. They really are "friendly movers". I scheduled them about a month before my move and needed them on two consecutive days to move me out of my condo and into a house. You rent the truck, they do everything else. In fact, they even put my bed together for me. I tipped them generously each day because they earned it. And their prices are so reasonable it is a crime to not hire them. I have a saying that I stand by, once you're over the age of 30 you don't ask your friends for rides to the airport and you don't ask them to help you move. No amount of bribery with pizza and beer for free labor friends would justify not hiring the Friendly Movers. They are worth every cent. read more

I appreciated that when I called them early in the week to confirm my appointment time, Adam knew my reservation date and time off the top of his head and reassured me that they had my move booked on their schedule. They carried my furniture down three flights of stairs without any damage and loaded the UHaul perfectly. For the price, you cant beat it. I paid around $300 and 2 guys moved my 1 bedroom apt to my new place in under 3 hours. They were very professional and friendly. They disassembled and reassembled my couch, bed, etc. I had shelves drilled into my wall at my old place that i couldn't reach myself and they helped take those down. We've used Friendly Movers for numerous moving jobs over the past two years and have always been extremely happy with their service! Adam and his crew have moved my daughter from her law school apartment to a storage facility and, later, from the storage facility to her new townhouse. They've also moved a huge room-full of breakable silent auction gifts from a local charitiy's offices to a downtown hotel with numerous trips up and down the elevator... without anything getting broken, and in less than a quarter the time it usually takes the staff to move this stuff in other years. They've also helped that same charity move office furniture in and out. Always happy to help, very professional and very efficient. And their rates are great. They don't have a truck, so you rent a van or truck and they fill it up and unload it. (They do have boxes, rugs, pads and other moving equiptment.) Saves a lot of cash and you have the use of the van if you need it to move anything else. Can't say enough good things about them. read more

Being over 40, I am too old to move heavy objects up and down flights of stairs, and my friends are too old. I rented the truck, which was the most difficult part. They called me to let them know their ETA and they were fifteen minutes early. No time was wasted. They kept working and moving. I just had to tell them what was next. After they loaded the truck and stowed everything neatly. I didn't even need to buy furniture pads. I drove the truck through Squirrel Hill. Up and around and over the hills but no shifting. Every time I have moved myself in the past, something has shifted. Not this time. Once we arrived, I had trouble parking the truck (hey, I said I was old) and they helped me out there. Then they climbed an absurd amount of steps to my new home's front door. Inside, they put everything exactly where I wanted: upstairs, downstairs. No complaining, whining or cursing. Very pleased with their work ethic. The proposal estimated it would take two to three hours and they did it in two. BTW: Deb, the office manager, did an excellent job with coordinating everything via email and telephone. She even called to confirm the appointment. Also, though it is not stated on their website, they are insured. Real professionals. My friends owe me pizza and beer. read more

I cannot recommend this company enough. Deb was so flexible with scheduling my move date and answering my questions. My move team was unreal. I have a few very heavy antiques and they moved them with ease. They moved me on a cold, snowy day with no complaints. They were quick and efficient. The movers were very rude. One of them had difficulty carrying probably because he was older than 50. They used wet boxes, they broke a marble table, even though we hire the full service they did not move a finger to pack or wrap things. I am still waiting for the reimbursement. read more

These movers were the hardest workers we have ever seen! Victor, Seth, and Jake came straight from another job that lasted most of the day. Several items of mine were broken that can't be replaced:Desk Drawer, buffet legs broken, Lamp, Vase,Fan all mot repairable and not brought to my attention. I hired these guys to load some ABF upack boxes and they were great! They showed up at 9am ready to work. They immediately began loading the boxes. They were fun and friendly and extremely hard working. They even gave me some of their moving blankets because I hadn't bought enough. I couldn't believe how fast these guys worked! They showed up early and beat me to my home (as I was coming back from renting the truck); my wife showed them in and by the time I got there with the truck, they had already moved a good amount of furniture out front! My wife and I were amazed at how fast, efficient, and careful they were with all of our belongings. We have a big place with lots of things. They loaded a 26' truck, drove it to our new place (less than a mile away), unloaded it, then went back to our old place and loaded and unloaded the truck again! It was an all-day affair, but these never complained once and worked like the pros that they are! They were also extremely friendly and in good spirits the entire time! I will definitely be using them again if we move again! I should have used them when we moved to Western PA two years ago! Oh, well...you live and learn. You won't find any better movers in the pittsburgh area. I called to book last week and it was a breeze, as soon as I told them I was shipping ABF the guy on the phone gave me the low down of what I needed to ensure that not only the move from my house to the terminal went smooth but the ABF move went smooth. This guy was knowledgeable and helpful. Fast forward to move day, the time of arrival was 8:30a and the two guys showed up at 8:30 ready to work. After a quick walk through they kicked things off immediately. They worked efficiently yet handled with care and they were thorough. Only a couple questions here and there. Where all other full service moving companies quoted me two 17ft loads to get to terminal, these guys fit it all in one with no issues. Followed me to the terminal and with the same efficiency and care, loaded the ABF Trailer. Not only did they shave an hour off the estimated time but they saved me about 3-5 feet of linear feet on the ABF trailer which is a good $400+ dollars. I would recommend these guys to anyone in the area and/or 60 mile radius. One may think it's a hassle to have to get a uHaul to have them load it but I would do it a million times over before succumbing to the full service prices. This was a breeze, the reviews on here are legit and these guys are the real deal. I almost paid them to follow me out to Arizona to unload. Thanks gents. read more

If I could give this company more than 5 stars, I would. I used their services last year and was BLOWN AWAY with their exceptional service. The two guys (Mike & Chuck, I believe?) moved a 2 bedroom apartment into a tiny U-Haul (I underestimated the amount of things I had) and unloaded my things in the rooms that I specified in under two hours. They moved everything out of my apartment so fast that I had to triple check just to make sure they didn't miss anything - it seemed too good to be true. None of my things were damaged during the move. The house I was moving into had an entire wall of pictures/painting that lined the stairs and not one of them was knocked down or moved in the slightest bit. They even had to maneuver an oversized couch through an extremely tiny doorway. Not only were the movers professional and efficient, they were actually friendly. They held conversations with us while they were unloading the truck (and still managed to work quickly!). I can't say enough how impressed I was with the team we had. I was so incredibly impressed with Friendly Movers that I used them again this year to load a storage container that was placed in my driveway for a long-distance move. The team the second time around was not as impressive as the first but they were still phenomenal nonetheless and exceeded my expectations. None of my things were broken or damaged. They packed the unit so well that nothing shifted during the trek from Pittsburgh to Tampa. The only thing I am upset about is that Friendly Mover's does not serve Tampa, FL!
