I can't understand why anyone would write a bad review about this place. We had our travel trailer stored here and had a great experience. When my husbands place of employment was closing, we decided we needed to tighten the belt and find a less expensive lot. We found one at 14 and Van Dyke. That place was awful. We had personal property stolen and the grounds had ruts in the dirt so when it rained, the ruts would fill with water. The customer service was the worst. When our rent was raised (to the exact price as Friendly) we went back to Friendly and were welcomed back with open arms. Bob treated us like family and remembered everything about us. Friendly Outdoor Storage is clean and organized. They say a return customer is the best compliment a business can get. Highest compliment to Bob and Friendly Outdoor Storage. I called here and inquired about renting a parking space for my camper, which lead to me driving out there and seeing the lot for myself. I spent about 45 mins speaking with Allen, he gave me a tour of the lot and it's amenities, I would feel absolutely secure storing my camper here. It's a nice gravel lot with sites well marked. A private RV transporter even came into the office and complimented Allen because he said this was one of the nice RV Storage lots he has delivered to. I read some of the other reviews where some said Allen was loud and came off as being rude, Allen is a louder speaker probably because his hearing is messed up, this man is a aging Vietnam Veteran, yes he speaks loud but rude he was not. I did not lease a spot from this business, solely because I feel the drive is too far from my residence, and who wants to deal with the traffic on the east side. we just purchased a older camper and was inquiring about storage. we are a young family looking to store while not in use. Gentlemen was super nice until we told him the year then stated we don't take older ones, we don't want it junking up our lot. If we ever purchase a new one I wouldn't store there if they paid me! My friend's on Fb know I am not one to post Rant's or my feelings about anything. I want everyone to know this for friendly outdoor storage does not and will not get our business ever again..we had a 6 month contract with them that expired June 12th. We were not going to renew till later this summer because we have our motorhome in our yard and are using it often. When We went into Friendly Outdoor Storage located on Maplelane and 14mile Alan Cashmere (one of the owners) was terrible rude and told Us he didn't want our business and if he didn't leave the office he would shoot him?? He then pushed him in the back as he was leaving??? This guy is certifiable!!! We had made a Sterling Hgts police report and of course they did nothing to follow up on a assault.... pls don't use this place they don't deserve anyone's business.!! I used to Store My RV at Friendly for a couple of years when they first opened. But due to FRIENDLY price increases we decided to leave. Just recently I had the need to dump my holding tanks. When I went to dump he(AL) came out said your not in the sytem and you cannot use the dump.(Even though there is a sign that says for 20 bucks you can dump. Regardless he was more concerned why I left and after I asked how much it would cost fro me to dump he indicted that no amount of money would allow me to use his dump site. (He indicated he gets it pumped every week which I doubt that many people use it when camp grounds offer the same amenities). Regardless I left and went to EASTSIDE RV and for 10 buck i was able to dump. They have water to flush the system and propane to refill my tanks. (Highly recommended) TIP OF THE DAY FOR FRIENDLY RV STORAGE: CUSTOMER SERVICE GOES A LONG WAY. WOULD I EVER COME BACK? NO WAY IN HELL! read more

OK ! I go to friendly after sending me a email which I ask for a quote and they respond appropriately ! So a week later I go to this place to secure a lot right ..... And i get this long hair old man who looks to be in his 60's [ which I am ] not long hair .... lol This guy is arrogant as F,,,,,ck ! Threatening me if I want to sell my boat [ which is the transaction } he'd have the cops and impound my property in a heartbeat ! as they don't allow 3 rd parties on their property ! Now I get businesses are allowed to make their own rules , but they should spell it out on the the internet ! As far as as tough guy .......... I don't forget . Worst lot ever. Beware don't ever use this lot they will not let you leave. Allan is a theif and a bully. Used this lot for a year, when they told us they would raise our price if we did not pay 6 months in advance. We called them and let them know we would be no longer using them and moved our trailer out. Allan called and threatened us that he would come to our house and steal our trailer. We were forced to pay for another month even though we were no longer parked there plus additional fees. We were on a month to month basis never locked into a contract yet they still gave us a hard time about leaving. read more

This place has by far the worst customer service and management ever. While it seems to be a nice faculty, the management is wretched. We had our travel there for 3 years without issue (paid upfront) but the past few months I have done month to month while I research other properties. I did not inform the management of it but when I chose the month to month option they made it very clear it was a burden on them. My camper has been back at the dealer for repair and I forgot about my payment that was due 2 days ago. I fully admit it is my fault and I genuinely forgot. I was willing to pay a late payment fee however when I told the manager that my camper was no longer on the premises his tune changed VERY quickly. He became very irate and told me I was 'vacated'. I was very apologetic and asked a few questions but he told me that all of it was none of my business because the contract was between Friendly and my husband, not me. Um...ok. Now after reading these reviews it almost makes me think that they were angry because they didn't own my camper now. I get that a client paying late can be a irritating but it was our first time in over 3 years! They literally said they don't need our business because someone else will come in later today and fill our spot. This place should be called "asshole storage". The office guy showed me a few spots and upon returning to the office I had told him that I want to rent out my camper and simply asked if I could bring the renter in the yard or if I would have to take it back to my house to rent it. He said no third party people allowed and started telling me stories about how people that rent campers are only going to destroy it and the reason they rent is because they can't afford one or have bad credit, some people just don't want to invest 20-50k for a few uses per year and it is my right to do with my camper what I want as long as it is not done on the property. And I had told him no problem, I would absolutely follow the rules. He then tells me he will NOT let me park my camper there. I started to walk out and turned and said his reasoning was stupid. He then yelled GET THE F_CK OUT. Really a friendly place. I think this guy is bipolar. read more

Not sure how he has so many renters at his yard when he will trash talk you right to your face if you QUESTION anything about his yard, pricing, policy, etc. Just AVOID AVOID AVOID. Worse management ever!! Al is a rude and arrogant piece of work! They continue to jack up prices and FORCE you into 6 month and now 1 year contracts that have to be paid up front. He was all friendly while I was handing him my money but when I explained to him why I wasn't renewing (because they AGAIN raised prices), he became a total rude asshole and hung up on me!! I hate to tell you Al but you're not the only storage yard around...you were just close to my home and convenient but dealing with you was ridiculous and difficult. I'm SO glad I will never have to deal with you again and will make sure that my family and friends that are currently still there know how you really feel about your customers.
