With less than two months for the wedding On Saturday early morning I get a text from Leanne stating that she cannot do the hair and sent the deposit back. No reason given. No alternative recommendations provided. Just completely abandoned me and my wedding. I have not been able to find anyone with such short notice and I want to help other brides and prevent them from this type of stress and abandonment and unprofessional behavior. All stylists appeared to have a strong level of professionalism and were very skilled. I made an appointment to come in for blonde highlights and a hair cut. Amber listened for EXACTLY what I wanted and executed those exact results. As a blonde, it's hard to get that beige beautiful color you want without it being mustard yellow or bronze. Amber was able to achieve exactly the results I was looking for and I walked out thrilled. She did my hair 1 week before my wedding and I couldn't have been more pleased. My hair didn't have any zebra stripes in it, the color was natural looking and well blended and it was so enjoyable getting to know her and talk to her during my appointment. At first I trusted what they said about the hair color being safe then I started with a great deal of hair loss which was contributed to my age. Then I started with some irritation after coloring and then severe pain and blistering which I had to apply ice packs to my head for 4 days before it subsided. I asked to see the ingredients and I was sent the product leaflets for each item used to mix my color. They are definitely not safe and contain multiple ingredients above OSHA approved levels of being toxic and dangerous and contribute to hair loss and severe scalp irritation. I made this known to the manager and she told me she would talk to Aveda and get back to me. it has been 20 weeks since then and she still hasn't gotten back to me. I can only assume Aveda knows its ingredients are toxic and just don't care. In those 20 weeks of being free of Aveda products my hair has filled in bald spots and is growing strong and healthy! Please do not take my word for anything, just stay informed and ask to see the actual ingredient papers enclosed in each item used to mix your color. I had an incredible stylist prior to moving here, and my hair suffered damage. Before I finally found Brittany, and Naviina, my hair was falling out, itching and my dermatologist said it was the dye. I was familiar with Aveda products and felt comfortable that something might be able to be done. MIndy, the Salon Manager, is the most helpful and intelligent person in cosmetology. She juggles almost a year of my online appointments, prints them out, and sends them to me via text! It is super convenient! All I have to do is show up! Brittany is a ray of sunshine! Always positive, professional, and all about my hair! It's growing back, the color looks good, the texture is far better, and I receive so many compliments! I brought my 12-year-old daughter in for a full foil service after receiving an estimated price of $300-$350. Midway through the appointment--more than three hours in, with most of her hair already foiled and processing--I was told it would be "a little more work and cost more." That description did not indicate that the appointment would run several hours longer than scheduled or that the final price would end up close to double the original estimate. By the time this was mentioned, the service was already too far along to stop. The appointment ended up lasting more than six hours. Although the salon's atmosphere was visually nice, the experience did not feel comfortable. My daughter became visibly distressed because of how roughly her hair was being handled. I asked several times for the stylist to be gentler with her. She was upset and teary at different points, which made the environment feel tense rather than relaxing. When we checked out, the total was significantly higher than expected based on the original estimate. I left a tip because I felt pressured in the moment, not yet realizing the full extent of the situation. After we left, an additional charge appeared on my card that I had not been informed of or authorized, which was very concerning. The next morning, after my daughter washed her hair at home, the condition of her hair was extremely alarming. Without the heat styling from the salon, her hair was dry, tangled, frizzy, and difficult to comb, with noticeable breakage in multiple sections. I've attached photos taken that morning to show what her hair looked like after a normal wash. To better understand what happened, we consulted a licensed stylist at another salon later that day. She confirmed that my daughter's hair showed signs of chemical over-processing and recommended restorative treatments and products, resulting in additional unexpected expenses. I contacted Tulu afterward to explain the situation and request a resolution, but the responses were dismissive and no refund was offered. Based on this experience, I would not feel comfortable returning, and I hope this review helps others make the decision that is best for them.
