I and all the bridesmaids received so many compliments on our hair and feel extremely fortunate to have worked with her and her assistant. She is an extremely talented stylist and her professionalism and easy going demeanor were such an asset. She called in advance before arriving and kept to the schedule. Christine not only did my hair and makeup for my wedding but also cuts and colors my hair regularly. She's extremely talented! From the wedding trial, to the big day, she exceeded my expectations. My look was exactly as I'd imaged it would be. Christine is also the only person who has ever achieved the cool icy blonde that I prefer when I have my hair colored. My wife and I decided we wanted to redo our vows in Maine. Our ceremony was approximately 5 months away and we had some moving parts we needed to sort out before committing, namely our children and pets being cared for while we were gone. In advance my wife began the process of trying to lock down some vendors and this hair salon was one. My wife asked me to send Christine $100 dollars to secure her services for the day of our potential ceremony. Long story short I did. Not even 2 weeks later we had some internal family issues and the whole idea began to fall through. We reached out to Christine and informed her, that our out of town family who was going to come in to watch our girls couldn't anymore. We kindly asked for a refund of the $100 My wife apparently did sign a contract for the non refundable deposit. I am in business myself an understand the importance of contracts. My issue is, we are from out of state, and had unforeseen family issues 5 months prior to requesting her services. There is a right way to handle things and honestly keeping $100 in this scenario is bad business. She had zero expenses associated with us at this point as well as more then ample time to find new patrons. Very petty. Hence the poor review. read more

Christine was fantastic! We were in Maine for a wedding and wanted to have our hair and makeup done, we found her on Project Wedding and Yelp. Her reviews and photos on Project Wedding looked great so we hoped for the best, and got it. She arrived on time, got us done in time, and we looked great! I had thought I wanted to go with hair down, but it was super windy that day so I asked about having my hair up. I had no idea what I wanted and she came up with something fantastic. It stayed in place all day and night. Same with the make up! At first it seemed like the makeup (the eye lashes) might be a bit too much, but WOW we looked great in the photos! If you want to look amazing in your photos, even if it's not for a wedding, have Christine do your makeup! She's very talented with both hair and makeup. She knows how to work with what you've got, and make it great. She made us look our best, and she was great to work with. I feel confident recommending her to anyone who wants to look their best on their wedding day, or for any special occasion. read more

Christine was a bit slow to communicate when I first reached out regarding wedding hair/makeup, but was 100 times more communicative than all of the other many hair/makeup stylists I reached out to for my small wedding request (hair/makeup for bride, makeup for three others). Christine was very flexible in meeting for a trial and made my inspiration photos into reality. My overall look on the big day was spot-on to what I desired. The only con I can offer is that at my trial Christine used airbrush makeup and I fell in love. On the wedding day, she did not appear to have any of that with her, so she used standard makeup. As I expected with standard makeup, I was a ghost face by the end (but at least it was the END) of the evening! read more

I have been friends with Chrissy for three years. Ever since we met she has been my stylist for my regular cuts and color. She does an amazing job, so there was no question that when I got engaged she would be doing my hair and make up at my wedding. She took the picture I had in my head and made it a reality! Christine did a great job on my hair and my wedding party as well. On the other hand, brought someone with her to assist with make up who seemed to know NOTHING about make up. Horrible job on everything! The lady did not even use coverage or eyeliner on us, forget about lipstick! Everybody was upset and we all had to redo our make up on my wedding day. I asked for a basic up eyeliner (wings) and the lady could not do it. She ended up irritating my skin around my eyes and not performing the service because she did not know how to make the "wings" on my eyes... very upsetting! If you are looking for a professional, you have found one. Just make sure Christine does both hair and make up. She rocks!!! read more

I live out of state and just googled wedding hair stylists in the Portland area. Big Day Beauty was one of the first that came up so I got in touch with Christine. She was very easy to work with and super flexible. I went to her for a trial a few months before my wedding (which was October 5th) and I gave her a vague idea of what I wanted. She started working on my hair immediately while I was talking and it turned out exactly how I imagined it. I was really impressed. In the months leading up to the wedding, she was very flexible with the number of people getting their hair, makeup, and/or eyelashes done, and she let me know that we could also get our nails done at the same time. On the day of the wedding, we got to the salon at about 7am. Christine and her assistant (I forget her name now, but she did a great job with our makeup) got started right away. All of us were complimented on how we looked, and the price of everything was very reasonable! Everyone at the salon was really nice and professional - I'd recommend Christine for anyone's wedding!
