I see Californians have rated this salon. I lived in La Jolla CA for some time and in 2004 I discovered the hair salon Young Attitudes, which is still in business. This salon - which is an Aveda concept salon - introduced me to the Aveda experience. Since then, I've been fiercely loyal to Aveda, but there were a few times where I couldn't get to an Aveda salon and the experience never matched the greatness I'd get with Aveda. Eventually I moved to New England and ended up at Naviina. I have never regretted it. Kaitlyn usually does my hair and she always does an incredible job. She books out pretty far. read more

I booked an appointment at a visit for 2 months later for a hair coloring. A week after my visit, I called and spoke with an employee and said I had a closing on that scheduled appointment date and time and I'd have to call later to reschedule. Assuming it was removed from their schedule, a month and a half before the appointment I canceled, I removed the appointment from my calendar. But they charged me $150 on the day of the appointment I canceled. They are so dishonest. I called about it immediately and they didn't want to hear it. So I'm out $150 for an appointment I canceled and they justify it by not admitting someone screwed up and never took the appointment off the books. I hope it was worth it because I'm telling everyone I know about this! read more

I received a gift certificate for Naviina. They advertised massages on their site but I found out they don't do them. Settled on a facial. When it was over, the room was dark, I fell and broke my wrist. No one checked on me and I had to get myself to the lobby to ask for a 911 call. The next day I went back to return their robe and to pay, which they happily took. They never checked on me but do send me offers for other services. I needed surgery. I guess it is ok to take my money but not worry about the actual health of their customers. Very uncaring read more

My husband had Kristin cut his hair and he said it was the best haircut he had ever received. I had Amy Z. and she too was very good. Had a bikini wax done here today. The bed I laid on was dirty and the blanket I had on top of me had hair on it from multiple clients before me. The person doing the wax seemed competent but the facilities were gross and I will not be returning. read more

What was an otherwise perfect day, my experience with Naviina didn't turn out as well. The stylists were nice and did a good job with hair and makeup but the management of the whole wedding party event left a lot to be desired. The bride, my daughter, did a pre-wedding appointment with a stylist and makeup artist only to have been told about a month before the wedding that the hair stylist wouldn't be available on her wedding day. Dealing with the wedding coordinator left a lot to be desired. I gave explicit instructions on billing that were not followed and it took 3 phone calls and an email to get action( a refund) which never came through. I have to say first and foremost... they were incredibly nice... loved everyone I met there... but the quality of the pedicure fell very short... a very hurried and messy job... and for the price I paid... I got my eyebrows waxed & a haircut here. I really like how Kendra did my eyebrows! It was fast too. My haircut was great and I loved how cassy curled my hair , but I wish she had asked me before she put a lot of product in- it's a little greasy and I would've liked to keep the blowout for at least 2 days :(. I live outside of Boston and got married in May in Cape Neddick, ME. I called around to a bunch of area places about wedding hair and makeup and decided on Navina because they were open on Sundays, their prices seemed competitive, and they had a few good reviews. I am so glad! Bobbi did my hair and makeup, as well as my mom's. A stylist whose name I have forgotten did my sister's. I did have a "practice" session, which added to the expense, but it made me feel better about the whole thing. As someone who wears very little if any makeup and feels proud to even blowdry my hair, I was nervous about balancing wanting to look special, but also like myself on my weding day. Bobbi really listened to what I said and did a fantastic job. Everyone we came into contact with from the salon was great and I would highly recommend them, or their sister salon in Ogunquit - Salon Loka (we actually had everything done there on the day of the wedding since it was closer to the wedding site). read more
