I stopped by the entrance visitor's gate, they gave me a visitors map so I could sightsee their campus. The campus is very beautiful and well maintained by the college staff. Their hiking trails and also well maintained and they're not overgrown with weeds and shrubs. They also have cottages that can be rented by visiting family, friends, or guests which looked quite cozy and comfortable. I'm sure that we will return for another visit and check out some more of their hiking trails on our next trip to the area!!!!

Berry Square, and it's really hard to say which is the lesser of two mediocre choices. What Rome Seven has going for it versus the competition is this: you are probably not going to be treated like an unattended toddler. Nobody is going to be checking for outside food and drink; nobody is going to try to tell you where to sit in the theater; and nobody is going to come in and remind you to be quiet. The thing is so many teenagers come here on the weekend, you sort of wish that last part weren't the case. Oh well. The downside - there is no stadium seating here and I'm pretty sure there's no surround sound. Pretty sure "The Conjuring" would has been scarier if I didn't have to lean in like I was watching television at Grandma's house and if the tall guy two rows down wasn't obstructing my view. Call me a grump - go ahead, I admit it - but I can't help feeling that old theaters don't have a right to charge the same admission price as new theaters when they don't have the same amenities. Alas, adults are $9 at Rome Seven ($9.50 if not paying in cash) and that's the going rate at much nicer, newer venues. I kind of wish this place would bite the bullet and become a good second-run theater. It's pretty much "pick your poison" when it's time to see a movie in Rome, unless you feel like driving between 30-50 miles to see a movie in a decent theater.

A moviegoer had to speak up & request they stop the movie while they worked on the issue. The movie was ruined for all of us. Here we are... an hour later. Movie STILL PLAYING WITH NO SOUND. A customer walked out to request a refund- the customer returned to report the theater refused to issue refunds & could only offer customers to view the movie at a different showtime. This theater SUCKS. And for it to have a 4.2 out of 5 simply proves that Rome has no idea what an actual movie theater is supposed to be.

So this was my second time coming here, after coming up with friends two weeks ago and having a…read moreblast. This place is certainly up in the middle of nowhere Blue Ridge but worth the trip. You'll find deeper water here and less spots to get stuck. There is a huge grassy parking lot across the street from the ticket office, with an underpass (walkway under the highway) to safely cross. The only issue with the grassy field is the amount of flies and bugs over in it, so I'd suggest doing all your pre-tubing stuff in the tubing parking lot (sunscreen application, changing, etc). This place is an actual campground for RVs, Campers and tents. It's actually pretty nice, if you're looking to camp. Plus, you have a tubing place onsite! They have two types of tubes: ones with a hole so your butt gets wet and ones with a hole and cover at the bottom (no wet butt). They also have kayaks available, which might be something I get next time. The life jackets are required for each person but you can use them to anchor each persons tube to another tube. Cost was super cheap (I think it was $8 a person?). The drop in is easy and it's about a 2 hour tubing trip. Very scenic, cleaner water than you'll find closer to Atlanta, deeper, colder and less spots to get stuck. They have a pickup spot just before a bridge on the left hand side of the river, with short buses running about every 15 minutes or so. There is no alcohol or coolers allowed, or cans/bottles allowed on the river. You can bring a 32oz container with a "drink" in it. Yes, genius, loophole. My recommendation is to bring a dry sack with you and attach it to your tube ... you can put sunscreen, change of clothes, etc . The river water is very cold and can keep your "drink" cold. I had a blast both times! Be very weary of huge rocks you can't see in the river where the rapids are. They can certainly cut up your legs and also hurt your butt if you have it in the water during the faster rapids. Will certainly recommend this spot to others and come back. Wish it were a little closer!
