So this was my second time coming here, after coming up with friends two weeks ago and having a blast. This place is certainly up in the middle of nowhere Blue Ridge but worth the trip. You'll find deeper water here and less spots to get stuck. There is a huge grassy parking lot across the street from the ticket office, with an underpass (walkway under the highway) to safely cross. The only issue with the grassy field is the amount of flies and bugs over in it, so I'd suggest doing all your pre-tubing stuff in the tubing parking lot (sunscreen application, changing, etc). This place is an actual campground for RVs, Campers and tents. It's actually pretty nice, if you're looking to camp. Plus, you have a tubing place onsite! They have two types of tubes: ones with a hole so your butt gets wet and ones with a hole and cover at the bottom (no wet butt). They also have kayaks available, which might be something I get next time. The life jackets are required for each person but you can use them to anchor each persons tube to another tube. Cost was super cheap (I think it was $8 a person?). The drop in is easy and it's about a 2 hour tubing trip. Very scenic, cleaner water than you'll find closer to Atlanta, deeper, colder and less spots to get stuck. They have a pickup spot just before a bridge on the left hand side of the river, with short buses running about every 15 minutes or so. There is no alcohol or coolers allowed, or cans/bottles allowed on the river. You can bring a 32oz container with a "drink" in it. Yes, genius, loophole. My recommendation is to bring a dry sack with you and attach it to your tube ... you can put sunscreen, change of clothes, etc . The river water is very cold and can keep your "drink" cold. I had a blast both times! Be very weary of huge rocks you can't see in the river where the rapids are. They can certainly cut up your legs and also hurt your butt if you have it in the water during the faster rapids. Will certainly recommend this spot to others and come back. Second year of spending Spring Break here - what a wonderful little gem to camp at! If you are so fortunate to stay in 1C you will be surrounded by soothing sounds of the Toccoa River and a creek that joins it both night and day . The bath house/showers are so clean and nice and the owners are very friendly and strive to keep the place clean and neat! Perfect place to bring your family as no alcohol is allowed - so no loud and boisterous parties happening late into the night. Very Pet friendly! read more

This was actually way better than I expected. My kids really really wanted to go tubing. I thought it was going to be a disaster. Being from Florida I thought they would be cold within minutes and without being able to take a cooler I figured they'd complain about being hungry. But I was pleasantly surprised. It was so much fun they didn't even think about being hungry. The tubes kept you dry enough that they didn't get cold. It was absolutely beautiful and the staff was so great. It turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip! If you're on the fence about it I suggest you go for it. Great family fun for all ages! read more

Though they are better known for their tubing business, the stay at campsite #10 was phenomenal. This site backs up to a bamboo forest where the sun shines through and you can relax to the sounds of the Toccoa river rushing about 25 yards away. Gina and Ray stay busy meticulously cleaning and showing campers great hospitality. The stack of firewood is impressive-$10 bucks for a wheelbarrow full. Can't wait for our next stay! read more

Toccoa Valley Campground didn't disappoint! The best price around for a couple of hours of fun! We took our 10, 8,7, and 4 year olds down the river and had a blast. The trip took about an hour and a half yesterday and it was perfect for our kids. Not too rough but fast enough to be fun and have some rapids. We didn't get the push sticks and were fine but they could've been handy couple of times, especially when one of the kids' tubes were lashed to ours. It would've helped keep us out of a tree or two. All three of the younger kids took turns with both adults and by themselves. The 10 year old stayed ahead of us most of the time. The campground is so nice and they have everything you need. Even a waterproof case for our phones. Will definitely be back if we're up this way and recommend it to anyone with kids. read more

Tubing down the Toccoa River is a must do, and you must do it with Toccoa Valley Campground! This two hour, six mile float down the Toccoa River with my teenagers was the highlight of our trip to North Georgia! We definitely recommend that someone in your party get a canoe! I wish that I could share the video of my daughter and I getting "stuck" on a rock and my son, in a canoe, pulling us loose! We laughed so hard (ALL six miles) that our bellies hurt! I said all of that to say this, you definitely have to do this! It was amazing fun! You start up River and get out down river. There is a precious little lady that will take you back to your vehicle as well! It really was too much fun! Do it! read more

Love this family owned camping/tubbing business!! I've been visiting here for years. The staff are friendly and I dare you to find a cleaner bathroom. The owner is out there scrubbing them daily! Times going down the river vary drastically depending on the amount of rain but if you call ahead they will let you know if its an hour long or 4 hours long. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy it under the huge shaded pavilion. read more

We didn't do the camping but we did go down the Toccoa by their Canoe and Kayaking activities! We had so much fun canoeing the first time we came a second time and did a kayak. We had so much fun and will be coming again, can't wait to bring our daughter up here when she's old enough. Went tubing with my daughter today. I'm not going to lie, I was a bit scared because it was something unfamiliar. They set us up in the tubes and we were on our way. Once we got on the river, everyone had sticks, we didn't. I guess we missed the memo. It took us a while to figure out how to stay in the middle. We went into the trees a lot. Towards the end, they warn you to stay left, we went left but the current pushed us right. Needless to say, we needed up crashing into the log and I flipped over. My daughter panicked and was screaming. I was calling for help while she help on to the log. It was pretty nerve wrecking. Luckily a kayaker came and helped us. If it wasn't for that incident, I would've given this place a five star because it really was cool. Wish I could've had a stick. read more

$8 tubing and tubing is about 3 hours. Plenty for ya money. Tube is small but pink. It's at a campground that has plenty of parking changing area and restrooms. The staff is very friendly and our go to every year. read more

We spent the weekend camping and kayaking here. Very nice campground. The only problem was the copperheads. I understand that snakes live outside, but when you see four of them in the same vicinity within 36 hours you tend to get a little nervous. We have two young children and two dogs, so we were extremely cautious after we saw the first one. We camp often (at least once a month) and have never experienced this many snakes in one small area. Besides the snakes, we enjoyed our time here and will probably return. Just watch for copperheads. read more

I've "tubed the Toccoa" twice with my family with this operation. Both times, the staff was so welcoming and gracious, giving us all the equipment and instructions we needed, and helping us out at the end of our float. For $10 a person, they'll fit you with a comfy tube (it has a bottom so your rear doesn't hang down into the river) and a life vest. You hop in, float down for between 1.5-2 hours depending on how fast the water is flowing, and hop out. They'll shuttle you back to the parking lot. Enjoy the gorgeous scenery and a few fun rapids along the way! You can also rent a kayak or canoe from them, and they offer onsite camping, but I can't comment on that as I've never tried it. It's always busy there though, and the staff is just so kind and friendly, I'll have to assume it's worth a shot! I visit Blue Ridge every summer and stopping here has become one of my favorite things to do! read more

10 years ago we bought a cabin in the area and started exploring. Tubing became our favorite family event so we checked out all of the tubing companies in a wide area and also bought our own tubes. Toccoa Valley Campground soon became our first choice and we use them almost exclusively now (unless we want to tube on a Sunday). They are always friendly, we never have to wait long for the ride back, you have a nice, long float down a beautiful part of the river and the take-out location is easy to spot and easy shallow for getting out easily. I always advise new tubers to bring or purchase a stick to help you navigate the water and stay away from the edges of the river. read more

We were struggling to find a decent trip down the Toccoa without getting ripped off like we did the day before. To such a great surprise, the folks that run this facility are fantastic. Immediately felt peaceful and taken care of, without anyone trying to overcharge us. We rented a 2 person kayak and 2 tubes for the kids, for about 60 bucks. Very fair price!!! We did not camp at this campground. We only went there for the day to go tubing. What a nightmare! We had three adults and five children aged 5-8 in our party. I think the children will be traumatized for the rest of their lives. The trek down the river is three hours long. There are parts of the river that are too rough for small children; even if they are tethered to your tube. Three out of the five children got hurt as a result of capsizing or getting lodged under trees and branches. There is no where you can get off the river should you want to end the nightmare. You must complete the full six miles in order to get a ride back to your car. There are other tubing experiences that are much shorter and safer. read more

Wow! Simply beautiful tubing on the Toccoa river. If you enjoy nature and all its glory this is where you want to go tubing. It is so peaceful and serene it will take your breath away. If you visit Blue Ridge in the summer this is a family friendly must do. Saw many younger children on rafts with their parents and everyone really seemed to be enjoying themselves. Has just enough rapids and calm spots to always keep you entertained or relaxed. Do yourself a favor and take a walking stick to guide your tube down the river and water shoes really help. Also remember to take dry clothes because you will probably get wet at some point. Highly recommended. read more

My friend and i were on a little girls trip and came across their flyer. We visited on Tuesday June 26th and it was a beautiful day the river was calm but when we arrived they had a beautiful pasture background for the parking lot with a pleasant short walk under the bridge to get to the campground we didn't catch the lady's name that was working but she was wonderful helped us with everything we needed made sure we understood what to do and where to get off we just wanted to say thank you all for such a wonderful time we absolutely had a blast we have already recommended it to two people that will be up there and the next couple weeks and can't wait to go back ourselves we will definitely return read more
