Don't know why this place has some bad reviews. The food here is actually very good. Came here to get some lunch for myself as well as for the workers working on renovations in my home. They made me fresh chicken breast which they only had one piece when I looked in the front but they made some fresh ones to accommodate me and my worker people added with it some fresh fried cheese, yuca and salad and it made for a wholesome lunch. Plenty of seating for those who want to eat-in, the place is clean and the service is very good. read more

First time I came for chicken fricase and it was delicious! Second time I ordered for delivery and for the fish plate and I was amazed at the size of the fish. We made it to this restaurant at 7:05pm today (January 24th) and the sign on the door was flashing "Open" but the door was locked and when I got the attention of the lady inside she made a hand signal that they were ! That's ridiculous since on the door it states Sunday's they open until 8PM and when you check Yelp and Google it shows the same information so I suggest that if their hours of operation changed they should update their info. We're going to miss Palmetto Bay Fritanga! I hope they reopen close by. The rice with a hint of Jalapeño, the carne asada that was just right, the tajaditas were unparalleled. We ended up eventually trying everything on the menu and nothing disappointed. I'd pickup the chicken soup whenever my wife or children were not feeling well. Now I'm not felling well that they were replaced with a sun par local chain. We tried Monimbo, the tajaditas tasted like oil and nothing else compared. read more

Great food and affordable compared to same plate at other nearby places, that are not many in the area... The service from a gracious young lady with her purple hair made the place cheerful and colorful as well. I should of ask for her name... the other lady at the register (Jomar - the name at the receipt), was also very classy and patient with a rude customer ahead of me that did not know how to respect and treat others. So disappointed in the serving of my food. I asked for carne asada with white rice and plaintains. I asked her to place an extra strip of meat and was charged. That is fine with me. I did ask her to give me just a little more rice and she said she would have to charge me extra for it. Wow all I wanted was maybe half a scoop more for the meat I was purchasing. Then to add to my disappointment she gave me 3 1/2 pieces of plaintains. One the size of the coin. See picture. White rice is so cheap she could of made me a happy returning customer. What a letdown. I'm not from Nicaragua, but being that my beau is, I find myself eating fritanga more often times than not. Thank the heavens for such great food, let me tell you! This little spot is less than three miles from my home, making it both a blessing and a curse. A blessing, because I can get great food in less than 15 minutes. A curse, because I need to lose 20lbs and won't manage to do that eating here! Their carne asada is tender and full of flavor. Their gallo pinto is perfectly cooked and always fresh. The queso frito leaves you begging for more and their maduros are super sweet and tasty. Also, the $3 cacao, don't tell my his grandmother, is the best I've ever tasted! I don't know how this place is 4.5 stars...cause I'm being generous with 2 stars. Carne asada is sitting in a container of liquid, but it was still very dry. Asked for chimichurri sauce and at first they said they didn't have any but then he pulled some almost empty store bought jar from the back of the cooler and what they gave me was a clump of chimichurri which needless to say I didn't even touch. I had the carne asada with gallo pinto (rice and red beans) and I must say, it was the best carne asada I've had in a fritanga here in Miami. It was juicy, not over cooked and well flavored. their portions are generous. Numerous items to choose from including but not limited to carne desmenuzada (shredded beef in its juice), grilled chicken, meat and potatoes, Nacatamales (Nicaraguan tamales), soup of the day, etc. They deliver and have cantina service available. the place needs a few more decorations, but I understand they recently opened. So I have been here before and the food was alright. The problem here is that they only have one lady working and the service is slow. The food is ok. Today I had a craving for soup so I called to make sure they had some and the lady told me that they did. I was only 10 mins away so I stopped by. When I went in again only one lady working. I asked for the soup and they said that they didn't have. That they ran out. I showed her and another guy there my call log and showed them that I called only 11 mins ago and that they told me that they did have soup and that that was my only reason for stoping by. They tried to lie and said that they just finished selling the last few portions. Normally I would be ok with that but knowing the speed and traffic in this fritanga that is BS. They never had it to begin with. This is really upsetting since that is the only reason why I stopped by. No need to lie to the customers.
