Got there an hour before closing time!

We made it to this restaurant at 7:05pm today (January 24th) and the sign on the door was flashing "Open" but the door was locked and when I got the attention of the lady inside she made a hand signal that they were ! That's ridiculous since on the door it states Sunday's they open until 8PM and when you check Yelp and Google it shows the same information so I suggest that if their hours of operation changed they should update their info. I wasted my time and gas driving here all the way from Homestead!!!

So disappointed in the serving of my food. I asked for carne asada with white rice and plaintains. I asked her to place an extra strip of meat and was charged. That is fine with me. I did ask her to give me just a little more rice and she said she would have to charge me extra for it. Wow all I wanted was maybe half a scoop more for the meat I was purchasing. Then to add to my disappointment she gave me 3 1/2 pieces of plaintains. One the size of the coin. See picture. White rice is so cheap she could of made me a happy returning customer. What a letdown. Now I will have to find another fritanga place near the falls!

Queso Frito, Carne Asada, Plátano Herbido and a mountain of Gallo Pinto! Make sure to ask for Crema on the side and Ensalada de Repollo!

I'm not from Nicaragua, but being that my beau is, I find myself eating fritanga more often times than not. Thank the heavens for such great food, let me tell you! This little spot is less than three miles from my home, making it both a blessing and a curse. A blessing, because I can get great food in less than 15 minutes. A curse, because I need to lose 20lbs and won't manage to do that eating here! Their carne asada is tender and full of flavor. Their gallo pinto is perfectly cooked and always fresh. The queso frito leaves you begging for more and their maduros are super sweet and tasty. Also, the $3 cacao, don't tell my his grandmother, is the best I've ever tasted! I highly recommend this place for heaping mounds of food at a great price. You'll love it.

    Amazing yummy food. Totally recommend.

Super rude. I was told that they don't speak English and when I tried to speak in Spanish, they told me they were sold out of everything.

Honestly, my past experiences there have always been pretty good, as the place was clean, the staff friendly, and the food consistently solid. That's why when dinnertime came around today, I didn't think twice about ordering from them. I had some friends over to watch the USMNT Gold Cup Final soccer match and I was really craving Cuban food. I placed an order through Uber Eats expecting the same quality I've come to know. The food actually arrived pretty quickly, in about 35 minutes, which was great. But as soon as I opened the container with my Cuban sandwich, I knew something was off. It wasn't pressed properly as you could tell right away someone had rushed making it. But the real disappointment? There were no condiments at all. No mustard, no pickles, no mayo... nothing. It just seemed like someone lightly buttered the bread, barely warmed it up, and sent it out. When I opened the sandwich, it was even worse there was hardly any ham or pork inside. Honestly, it looked sad. I was so disappointed, I ended up tossing it in the trash. I mean, it's one thing to mess up a random order, but this was a Cuban sandwich from a Cuban restaurant. That's the signature item. How do you get that wrong? The rest of the food was okay, not great, but edible, so at least my guests had something to eat. Still, I'm the one who chose the place and really wanted to enjoy my meal, and they completely missed the mark. I'm giving El Rinconcito Cubano of Kendall a one-star review based on tonight's experience. To be fair, I've had good meals here in the past, so I'd be open to giving them another shot down the road. If they step it back up, I'll happily update this review. But tonight? They really dropped the ball.

On the outside it's a little unassuming even though the plaza itself is nice, but the decor inside was elegant. Our server was really friendly. Unfortunately, she di forget to bring into our appetizer. But we even forgot until after we were eating dinner so we didn't say anything (and it turns out it wasn't on the check either). We went at around 8:30 pm on a Friday night and there were only a few other tables, it they're open until 3am so we assume it is more of a late night spot. We both thought the food was incredible though. I had salmon (which was cooked to perfection) and cilantro rice. I ordered vegetables (zucchini, tomatoes, and broccolini) which were also surprisingly tasty. My husband had the mofongo. It was just different from the typical Puerto Rican mofongo in that didn't come with sauce other than some garlic sauce, but the taste was still great. He also liked the chicken that came with it. We will def be returning here in the future!
