    Súper Antojitos

Restaurante muy típico y auténtico con la comida Centro Americana. Great service by the waitresses and the manager. Plenty of space a tables for guests. Great for big groups. They also have a bar area with additional seating. They play music and sometimes have live bands playing. We ordered an appetizer called súper antojitos to start off with. Price is $25/$30 but it is so worth it! Great starter for groups of 3-5 people. You can down one by yourself but chances are you won't have space for the pupusas! In the video you'll see pupusas de frijol con queso and the Salvadorian favorite queso con loroco. So good! Only thing I noticed was that they were oily and the masa was falling apart. After we started eating them you could literally open them in half like if it was an arepa - which they aren't meant to be like. Overall it's a great place to enjoy a little taste of home.

Food is good, abundant and authentic! Service is good. Is a classic place in Miami! Many years around! Ambience torn better with the live music or karaoke! Is a big place an very central located.

Her customer service and attention to detail was awesome, ensuring she stopped by multiple times throughout to top off water and check on my experience. I went with the grilled Chicken breast and double side of tostones which tasted fantastic. Of note, I covered the tostones in the garlic like sauce while they were hot, which rendered them a fine combo of crunchy and somewhat soft- in short, awesome. Personally, no meal is finished without some form of coffee at the end. I admit this habit stems from my upbringing and a penchant for American, French and Italian fare but this was no different. I enjoyed a Cortadito which tasted amazing and had beautiful presentation. If I could rate this experience 6 stars I would. They knocked it out of the park. Note: They're FIU student, police and county friendly to boot.

The restaurant was packed when we arrived, and we waited about 30 minutes to be seated. I honestly expected the wait to be frustrating, but the staff was so nice and they were constantly checking in on us to make sure everyone was being taken care of. The service was probably my favorite part of the whole experience. Every single person we came across was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about the customers. Even with the restaurant being so busy, they never made us feel ignored or rushed. You don't always get that kind of service anymore, and I really appreciated it. Now the food... everything we had was SO good! Yummy! The Nicaraguan churrasco was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The fish ceviche was absolutely delicious. I also tried cow's tongue, and I have to say, it was a real delicacy! The portions are big too, so you definitely won't leave hungry. The beef soup was another favorite. So flavorful and comforting. Make sure to save room for dessert because the tres leches is delicious. I'm not exaggerating when I say it was one of the best tres leches cakes I've ever had in my life. It's my favorite dessert and I have eaten it hundredths of times. So, trust me when I tell you, it's amazingly tasty! What made the night special was being there with my family and just enjoying everything together. Good food, a nice atmosphere, and people who actually care about giving you a good experience. That combination is hard to beat. I would absolutely recommend Madroño to anyone who enjoys great food. If you're visiting Miami, put this place on your list. And if you live here and haven't tried it yet, go! You won't regret it. We will definitely be back!

Skirt and fettuccine -- cooked as I requested (medium). Packed with flavor. SO FREAKING GOOD. Arroz cremoso de aji Amarillo with lomo saltado -- unique dish that worked so well. Recommend! Spicy margarita -- best drink here. Mezcal mule -- my mom and I didn't really like it because it was too smoky. Maria was kind enough to swap it out for us with another spicy margarita and didn't charge for the mezcal mule. Love the ambiance. We were able to get one of the servers to look at us after a couple of minutes of sitting there. They brought us a little palate-opener of a small portion of a simple soup. They had a margarita special we tried, $5 frozen margaritas. The maracuya (passion fruit) one was a solid choice. I also ordered the mojarra frita with white rice, tostones, and salad. The rice was really undercooked. The waiter tried to appease us by bringing us more of the same uncooked rice. We were not the only table to say something about it because our neighbors confirmed they too received the same and were also unhappy. Other than that, the rest of my meal was great. However, I will say my mom was very upset with her experience and expressed that her chicken wasn't prepared well either.

Unfortunately, what followed was a surprisingly disappointing experience -- and one that became harder to justify with every course. The service was slow and disorganized, our sangrias had to be returned, and the mixed ceviche was a very small portion with mostly tiny shrimp and very little fish. Then came the $110 parrillada. We ordered the meat medium, but much of it arrived overcooked and dry. Served on a hot platter, it continued cooking at the table. To make matters worse, it had taken nearly an hour to arrive, so sending it back simply wasn't an option we were willing to endure. The sides -- yuca, tostones, and fries -- were all underwhelming, and the sauces were so limited that we had to ask for more. Water wasn't replenished, and even the basic table service felt neglected. We eventually spoke with the manager, hoping for some acknowledgment of the experience. Instead, we were essentially told that we should have complained sooner. We explained that after waiting nearly an hour for our food, we weren't prepared to wait another hour for a replacement. We were offered complimentary desserts, but unfortunately, the churros were rubbery and seemed reheated, while the tres leches was just average. And then came the bill: nearly $200 for three people -- for lunch. Not dinner. Lunch. At that price, you expect the food, service, and overall experience to feel exceptional. Unfortunately, ours didn't come close. We didn't leave upset because the restaurant was expensive; we left disappointed because the experience simply didn't justify what we paid. We went in with high expectations and left feeling that Mordisco was not worth the price. Sadly, we won't be returning.
