Wasn't terribly disappointed with this chicken but it did lean towards the dryer side for all the foods. Probably won't order again.

Ordered 12 pcs hot wings here, for a 15 mins wait, the wings taste pretty good. They arent very oily to the taste.

Food: 3/5 Service: 3/5…read moreOverall experience: 3/5 (1- Terrible; 3- decent; 5- Fantastic) I've always wanted to try chicken and waffles, so I jumped at the opportunity when I saw Waffles & Chix at Calgary's Lilac Festival 2013. There was nothing memorable about the outside of the truck; white with red letters spelling out the name and concept of the truck, and a weird image of a chicken riding a 'waffle' skateboard. I managed to line up before a sudden rush; there was a bit of a wait (around 10 min to order and another 10 min for the food). The menu features: fried chicken and waffles ($9), a fried chicken poutine ($10), fried chicken & cheese waffle sandwich ($10), and sweet waffles for $5-$7. Note: Cash only. I ordered the southern fried chicken and waffle ($9), which for the price and portion is really decent compared to other Calgary food trucks. Definitely a carb overload and will put you in a food coma. Not the smartest idea on a hot day. Once I received my order, I was slightly disappointed to see that I did not get a fried chicken thigh or leg. Instead, I received two pieces of crispy chicken tenders. The chicken was a decent portion, but I almost ran out of it before I could finish the waffle. The dish could have had more gravy with a touch of hot sauce and I didn't like how the waffle became soggy from under the chicken and gravy. Overall, I wasn't blown away by the chicken and waffles. Although I love the concept, I wouldn't go back to try more.

Heard of this place through a friend on Yelp in the USA…read more Here in Calgary we have our first and only location!! Walk in at about 11 am way before the lunch rush. Pickles behind the counter was very friendly and very helpful with our order, since we have never been here before. Pickles name was on the name tag he was wearing he told us that's was not his real name, that's a story for another time. I'm here to give a food review not a review on pickles. LOL We ordered two Chick-fil-A-Deluxe meals. Was suggested by this fine gentleman to try their sweet tea Lemonade. Must say he didn't steer us wrong delicious!! One thing I have to say is this where has this place been all my life!!!! Very clean inside with every table having a placement of flowers. Staff coming around to the tables to ask if every thing is okay and do we need any more condiments for our food. What a beautiful addition to customer service for a fast food joint. As we looked around it's now 11:30 am and the place is now packed and very busy. The drive thru now has a line up with quite a few vehicles deep. The food was tender hot and delicious. Nothing was disappointing!! -Plenty of parking but can be limited when busy. -plenty of seating and again if busy it's limited. Will definitely be returning in the near future for sure.

You drive to that office building and it's one of the foodcourt style restaurants on the main floor. Their Korean Fried Chicken is delicious! One of the better ones in this city. We also ordered their beef dumplings and they were very good. Prices are reasonable. They also have tons of fruit drinks made from real fruits along with assortment of Korean candy/snacks to purchase. If it wasn't for Instagram and bloggers recommending this place I would have never come here because you won't see it driving on Macleod trail. They are definitely relying on word of mouth and social media to advertise their restaurants. Overall, a great place but be prepared it's more of a take out restaurant unless you want to eat in the office building.

My boyfriend and I had this for dinner 2 nights in a row. Such a good deal! The soy garlic fried chicken was so good! I'm normally very fussy about my fried chicken but it was juicy, flavourful and crispy. I really liked it! Comparable to wow chicken for sure, which is a high compliment for me haha. The spicy pork was good as well! The meat was not dry and it was flavourful with the right amount of spice for myself. Perfect with rice! The beef bulgolgi was ok - the meat was a little bit dry! I wish it was a bit more saucy, but overall it was okay but outshined by the other 2 dishes. For drinks, I tried their real strawberry matcha latte. It was really yummy! It reminded me of boba guys in NY. Located in the Heritage Square building, there are a few spots right outside the main entrance - 2 hours of free parking is available, you just have to register your plate on the tablet by the front desk. There is also more parking around the building.

Hers, veggie and sweet (coconut milk). They were both positively decadent. The sauces were rich and smooth, without a hint of the oil breaking. Lamb was tender and succulent, her veggies were a step past al dente, which is fine. Sides - 4/5 We were surprised to see options of rice or naan to attend the dish, so yea each opted for one. The rice was well cooked, sprinkled with saffron and some roasted caraway seeds. The naan was fine, though probably had some excess oils on it making it a notable greasier experience that I think I am used to. Still, delicious way to finish up the sauce. This is a great place we feel luck to have found on a trip and we surely would love to find work in Calgary if only to frequent this place for lunch and their great combos. I don't know if I'd travel the whole 1200 miles just to eat here again, but I would consider it.
