An amazing spot in downtown Keene! I had the chance to speak for a few minutes with the owner while he was eating and he gave us some history of the location - what a great guy! The spot is located in a humble building downtown - a good size but not huge. Pretty ideal for the type of service they offer (order at the counter & they bring the food to your table). The service was great and the place was well kept & clean. The food was outstanding. I got the chipotle chicken panini; fresh ingredients and a great sized sandwich. Their Belgian fries are seriously out of this world, not to mention their amazing dipping sauces to go with them (I myself had maple mayo and curry ketchup, both awesome)!! Their prices are also very reasonable. With everything raising in price lately, it's not uncommon to be spending a ton even on a quick lunch nowadays. This place keeps the cost reasonable for the times while still providing good portions and quality ingredients. They are also extremely "gluten free friendly" for anyone curious. Food is always great. However the service is not exactly ideal. There is one particular manager or supervisor of some sort that is an older lady that usually takes orders. She is completely rude and rushes you through your order. Now mind you I have gone here many many times for breakfast and lunch, and every time I see her at the register it makes me not want to go in. We really wanted to like this place, but their one vegan offering was really bad. It's hard to find vegan food in Keene restaurants and we noticed that Fritz had a falafel roll up and falafel salad. We got the roll ups but they are way too spicy and not in a good way. I found it pretty inedible. I'm not sure if it was the falafel itself or the raw onion or both, but I couldn't eat it. The fries are good though. I do hope they will reconsider their falafel recipe . read more

We got take-out from Fritz on Friday August 16 for lunch. We ordered two bacon cheese burgers, a large fry to share with three people, and three of their dipping sauces: curry ketchup, ranch, and Parmesan peppercorn. We also ordered two chocolate chip cookies. I ordered via phone because the website was acting up as websites do sometimes. The woman taking my order was friendly, kind, and helpful. Our order was not ready when I arrived, despite me being late. But this was because the cookies were just coming out of the oven!!!!! Heaven!!! The inside looks like a comfy laid back place to enjoy good food with family or friends. Tons of seating, clean, and well stocked with drinks, condiments, and utensils. The bathroom was also very clean. Our burgers were deeelish!!! Omg! Generous but not oversized. The toppings of bacon, Swiss, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle on mine were all fresh and tasty! Those fries tho' !!!! They have a three part cooking method which made the fries crispy but not overly done on the outside and soft potato-y goodness inside. The dipping sauces are sooooo good. Interesting place. Had the fries since they were advertised as Belgian Fries. Having had Belgian fries in Belgium before, these fries are nothing like them. They are tasty, but not authentic at all. We decided to take a walk through the mean streets of Keene NH. On the way we came across a restaurant that served Belgian French fries. We decided to have a medium sized basket of fries. My Lover is German and prefers mayo with her Pommes frites . I went with the curry ketchup. The fries were great and gave us a nice base to drink our tequila. The store front reminded me of a coffee shop and scarcely decorated interior needed some local art or something for the walls. The burgers were in the $10-12 range and medium fries with dipping sauces came in at $12 without drinks. Fairly steep for fried potatoes. But the taste was good and decent little place. Noticed this place as we were walking along the street. The vibe drew us back to try it for lunch. Did not disappoint. The decor and atmosphere was what I expected from this quaint downtown. Service was quick and food looked like it was for a photo shoot. The food tasted as good as it looked. Bun on burger was toasted. The menu seems decent and the salads weren't bad nacho fries were over cooked and very dry with no salsa or sauce on them but the service is horrible. Picked up online order, no one in sight. Stood there 10 minutes while my bags of food sat on table. Walked to the kitchen were three employees were standing around. Asked for help and they were very rude. Stopped back a few days later and restaurant was empty. Cashier in her phone didn't even look up or acknowledge us one foot from her. Asked about the menu and she pointed to the wall and went back to her phone. Left because it seemed like if no one else was there there probably is a reason. Let me start by saying this used to be a great restaurant. No longer the case. Used to have unique sandwiches but is now limited to mostly build your own burger. Food is mediocre at best although fries are still good. Real problem seems to be with the new ownership or whoever "manages" the restaurant. Took over an hour to get 4 sandwiches and when we saw other tables get their food before us decided to bring up with the staff who were unapologetic and rude. You can choose from a pretty wide variety of dipping sauces to enjoy with them. Opted for the Balsamic Chicken & Mozzarella panini, which was solidly good but not great. This was my choice for birthday meal - I love their fries! I don't live close by and really how often should you get frites so this was a treat for me. They have a great selection of sauces for their fries. We've learned our lesson and always select two flavors. This visit we went with the dill and the mango chutney. Both were delicious. The fries are perfectly salted and just pair amazingly well with the sauces. I think mango is my favorite out of the list but dill was also delicious. We also got a dill burger to go with the order.
