We did a medium fries with two sauces. There are enough sauces that anyone should be able to find something they like, if you are not like me and just like Ketchup. I did not experience the same euphoria that other reviewers seem to have. They were good fries but nothing unique. The sandwiches were a little undersized but were filled with fresh ingredients and had good solid taste. Went in today (12/26) man were they busy, wasn't a table to be had so we knew it must be the place to be. The counter girl was friendly and honest that there was at least a 45 minute wait, totally understandable seeing as though it is the day after Christmas and it seemed like everyone is out in Keene today. My son had the Classic Cheeseburger and fries and devoured it said it was the best burger he's had in a while. I had a BLT & Cheese......soooo good! Where to begin... This place feels very unwelcoming. It's been open for over a year, but is still under construction. Dusty tarp, extension cords, and tools near the seating area. Not too bad, but also doesn't look like they've been used recently. I watched three tables leave, then more customers would come in and sit down. No one wiped down the tables between customers. The woman at the counter was on her phone when she wasn't actively taking an order. All of the prices onthe menu are covered with black tape. This isn't the kind of place where "if you have to ask, you can't afford it." Speaking of price for over $30 for 2 sandwiches and an order of fries, you could serve it in something other than a paper bag. More to say, but I'll leave it at this. Judging by the more recent reviews, my partner and I must have hit this place on a good day. I imagine there are probably more good days than the reviews would imply. We ordered a small basket of fries to share with a few dipping sauces and a couple of sandwiches. My partner got the turkey club and I had the caprese. Between our sandwiches and the fries, it was more than enough food for what seemed like a fair price. The sauces were great and the fries were fresh and hot. The sandwiches didn't disappoint, either. They were exactly as expected. The person who took our order was young but unbelievably professional and well-mannered. We overheard his manager talking to him as we got ready to leave and it sounded like they were actually having a conversation; there was a lot of respect on both sides. Happy employees + good management = a successful business. I grew up in Keene and probably took this place for granted, but I'm so glad we stopped for lunch. Get those fries, doe. Clearly Fritz has a specialty, and that specialty is fries. They come in multiple sizes, and even the smallest size is plenty of delicious, crispy and fresh, hand-cut fries. The dipping sauces are delicious, especially the garlic sauce, which is perfectly matched if you get the parmesan fries. I enjoyed the turkey burger special of the day, which had cheese and cranberry sauce. The roll was fresh and fluffy and the portion was great. Service was prompt: order and pay at the counter, and your food will be brought out to you by number on your table. The food is fine. Fries a little over done. My big issue with this restaurant is that it is counter service and they ask for a tip when the order is placed. The menu actually says: 0 - poor service 8% - ok 15% - good 20% - excellent. It is simply inappropriate to suggest a customer tip 15 or 20% for counter service. My daughter just finished her sophomore year at Keene State and I'm here to do the heavy lifting, as in furniture. So we need some nourishment and she suggests Fritz. Inside, it's what I would call "hippyish" with nooks and crannies to sit in with tents draped overhead. More of a bohemian coffee shop look than the cafe type look...whatever, it's a college town. You walk up to the counter and place your order. Spolier alert, you are requested to bus your own tables. They give you a number a la Panera and pretty soon, your food is delivered. There are lots of sandwiches on the menu but we both opted for salads. Big bowls of fresh greens, lots of carrots and tomatoes and other stuff depending on which salad you ordered. The burgers (which we did not eat) come with options for regular, local or veggie. Nice touch. FRIES: they are listed as Belgian Fries. Now someone more cosmopolitan than myself might know what this means. We were clueless, so I asked. They are blanched first, then fried. So we ordered some with 2 different dipping sauces (there is a huge selection of these). They are freakin' awesome. Worth coming in just for the fries. Bottom Line: Salads were OK. Mine was unremarkable. Service is pretty much non-existent. Place was clean. GO FOR THE FRIES. read more

This place is great to go to for a bite to eat. They have many great sandwiches, however the fries are what they are known for. There are many dipping sauces for the fries and some reasonably healthy choices for other food. The staff is friendly, and the food comes out quick. You order at the counter sit down with a number and they bring the food out. Some nights they have live acoustic music. There is not a tremendous amount of tables but there is almost always a place to sit, and if there is not, just wait a min. We bring our kids here whenever we go, and they love it. read more

Fritz is supposed to have the best fries around, so I'll be honest, I was initially skeptical. Not to sound too politically correct, but you're not to eat buckets of fried things, so as I was facing mild repulsion at what I was about to eat, calling on the worst food experiences helped me greatly today. I watched this Ted Talks recently where this guy uses charts and statistics which suggest that happiness is a function of no expectation and very little choice. I know it sounds crazy, but if there is a news ticker run through the mind like the bottom of a news screen, experiences seem better in comparison. Captions that recollect refrigerated day old soggy potatoes, a texture that sticks to your mouth like kindergarten paste, also a falafel that must have fallen into laundry dryer heat and left to mold. Belgian French fries taste amazing, like they are double baked with this high level crispness (in home index that's crispix attics) that tastes light considering these are fries. Pineapple curry sauce is this meaty texture which sounds awful if you're veg but it's great, as is peanut satay and chipotle ranch sauce. Falafel salad has this super moist lentil inside, and with the dill havarti tuna melt panini I would recommend pairing with Fritz brand raspberry lime rickey. read more

Loved this place!!! They need to open more! We found a parking place in the center of Keene and saw the Fritz sign. We walked in and were sold immediately by the food prep and menu. I ordered a Cobb salad and added grilled chicken. My friend ordered a panini and we split a small fritz. The salad was fresh, crisp and delicious!! I loved how it's served in a bowl within a bigger bowl so you can mix it up with your dressing. I had the buttermilk ranch dressing that was creamy and flavorful. My friend loved her sandwich and she ate it before I finished my salad! I never even got a photo of it! The fritz were amazing!! I love how fresh they were, perfect temperature, no grease and they didn't need any dipping sauce. A small was plenty for two to share. This place is worth a trip to Keene, NH which is a hidden gem. read more

Without a doubt best french fries EVER!!!! Huge portions. The peanut satay dipping sauce is yum-yum. Good selection of salads & sandwiches. The caprese sandwich is great. Not a huge fan of their salads, they're too bland for my taste. If you're looking for great salads, try Keene Fresh Salad Company. Falafel wrap here is great too. Hands down one of my top 3 restaurants in Keene! Live music on Fridays - it's noisy then. The service is spotty - half of the time a mistake is made with our order but we'll keep coming back because the food, especially the fries, is that good! EDIT note: We've been here more often lately & the service is really off more like 80% of the time so if you get take-out check your order before you leave. Let me start off by saying I am only knocking off one star based on price. The food here was phenomenal and I was pleasently surprised by how fresh everything was. I made my own panini - chicken, bacon, mozz, onions, and spinach on a herb ciabatta. I also had a side of parm fries and a can of sprite. This cost me $15, which seems overpriced even for how large the portions were. And I'm from Boston! The mozz and veggies were so fresh, and the chicken and fries were cooked/seasoned to perfection. Everything smelled heavenly when it arrived and I devoured it rather quickly. If you want to spend $15 on a sandwich and fries I would suggest Fritz, but I think there are similar places that are much more reasonably priced. read more

What really makes this place are the fries. They are orgasms for your mouth. The paninis are delicious. I tried their ostrich burger. It's good if you like that sort of stuff. Great place to go for lunch...the Rosemary Garlic sauce is yum and the fries are always a delight. My husband and I both got burgers, and they were cooked perfectly. My husband loves fries and wouldn't eat these. It feels like a lounge, lots of odd chairs, and drapey bits, and... well, you need to see it. The young man prepping salads greeted us, and seeing instantly that we were newbies, gave us the run-down. Where to find the drinks, where to order, all the important stuff. Falafel is inconsistent, but they do make it from scratch. They have cold beer too. I only wish they would start serving poutine. Why is no one doing this in Monadnock? Stopped for a quick supper on our way to NY. Very few people eating - school's not in session. It's basically a limited menu, order-at-the-counter sandwich shop. But they have a good selection of sandwiches. I had a roast beef and dill havarti panini on ciabatta. Very good, rare roast beef and great bread. Hubby had a special - pear and carmelized onions with cheese panini on ciabatta, which was also good. Drink selection is limited, Snapple, Coke products, water - but they had diet root beer, so I was happy :-) They also have free tap water dispenser. The atmosphere is comfortable and dim, with middle eastern-ish themed booths along the walls and tables, bar tables and stools in the center. This weekend we sampled from the Pumpkin Festival menu: I had a Shipyard pumpkin ale, Caresse panini and too many delicious fries to count. We also took a family member who had never been before and he has been talking about the fries for days! (They got the better of him.) Also, I love the fab design of the place. Great fries and the Rosemary Garlic sauce is fantastic. Nicole Falafel salad was good and large. My panini was one star and I would avoid that section of the menu completely. Here are some details - Had 3 Sauces, the Rosamary and Garlic was fantastic, I would pass on the Fritessaus and the Chipotle Ketchup, we did not finish them and went for the free Ketchup instead. Panini - more bread then anything, left out an ingredient, and left a lot to be desired. Falafel - good, and the salad was large - worth getting. Atmosphere - I like it, works well for the place, but I could see it getting loud. But defiantly fun. We stopped into Fritz on a whim with our three young kids. They had plenty of seating outside with umbrellas. Our burgers were fantastic and cooked to our individual liking.
