One of the local dives in Allentown. Fun place with friendly workers. Pets welcome. No food but lots of booze. Sit in the darkened inside or people watch outside. We were lucky to get enough chairs to sit outside. There was good live music across the street and hundreds of people enjoying the art fair. Very enjoyable and a good rest from walking the many blocks of art. The many streets were closed off to cars. read more

Absolutely worst bartender. Unsure how she still works here after seeing 1 star reviews going back years all stating the same thing. Short, brunette bartender is extremely rude. Not only to us but to several other people just that night I was there. My girlfriend asked for 4 shots, for us and my brother and his girlfriend, the bartender says "are you sure? You havent been sure of anything all f*cking night" completely unprovoked. We then watch her go around to everybody else and make/serve them while completely avoiding us. We never got those shots and my brother asked if we could get them and she says no, slams our bill down and tells us to leave. 10/10 will NOT go back just because of her. read more

Went there with a pistol permit which is a VALID NYS ID and they would not let me in after showing 3 other forms of identification. Made me stand outside after not arguing and say I wanted to order a Lyft because it is 5degrees outside. Rudest female bartender and terrifying security guard (that didn't need to be screaming at me). I went in there for a takeout sandwich and a water while I waited. I wasn't drinking, I smiled at the female bartender, asked for 2 bologna sandwiches, then changed it to 1 last minute because I didnt know when my friend was showing up. She then rudely responded, "1 or 2?!" I responded with "sorry, 1." and she rolled her eyes at me. I was standing, about to sit at a stool that was not taken, next to a stool with a water in front of it (so presumably taken). I noticed this. She looked at me and said in the rudest tone, just so you know someone is sitting there (the stool where I was not going to sit). I made a joke about making sure I didn't sit there and she snapped at me, "i'm doing my job, I don't have to serve you a sandwich, actually you're getting it to go, you're not staying here." She then went on with "you're not the only person at this bar and you're acting like you are!" meanwhile, I wasn't demanding anything or yelling, the place wasn't crowded, and I only ordered a sandwich when she came up to me and asked what I wanted. she had it out for me I guess, and it was scary. I informed her I wasn't staying there anyway, and I wanted the sandwich to go. I thought that was clear since I merely ordered a tap water to wait for my sandwich while waiting. I tried to explain this to her and she was so angry. The man who was sitting at the spot next to me came back, asked where his jack & coke was, and the bartender told him "I didn't know you were coming back." I mistakenly make an audible comment that I thought was funny (do NOT do this to her, this was stupid of me), since she was so set on making sure I was no where near his seat (that I wasn't going to sit at anyway). She became incredibly angry, threw money at me, told me I wasn't getting a sandwich and to get out, that I was being rude since I arrived, etc etc. then a male security guard escorted me out as if I was going to argue and stay. At this point, my friends meeting me there showed up. I explained that I couldn't stay, and the security guard was screaming in my face to leave. I paused just to say bye to my friends again and the security guard got closer to my face and screamed at me louder. It as honestly terrifying. I am 5'1, I was not belligerent. It was humiliating, jarring, and completely unecessary. My friends were equally as confused, as we were together before this and they knew I wasn't drunk or anything. I used to go there when I was younger, and I can say as long as that female bartender is there I will never go back, even if just for takeout. read more

The bar itself was great, decent prices too. However, I will never return because of the female bartender who was working on 8/2/24. To make a long story short, my mother accidentally got a debit card linked to my bank account in HER name. I've been lazy and haven't gotten a new one cuz it works perfectly fine. My mother is French, and her name is very hard to pronounce. Given that it was a Friday night and loud in the bar, I opted to write the name down in the Notes App on my phone. I was very nice, asked for a couple shots and when she asked for the name on the card I showed her what I had written on my phone. She said "who is this person to you?" And I said "my mother". She then gave me the most judgmental look, to which I replied "it's a long story" (as you can see above). She then proceeded to act like I thought she was dumb or couldn't read, which was not my intention in the slightest. "Whatever" I thought to myself. Not 2 seconds later, (what I assume to be) her friend turns to me and says "you better not offend her" "stay in your lane". And begins to accuse me of being an asshole. "Whatever" I think to myself again. Maybe a half hour later I'm near the bar talking with a friend, and I see the female bartender push her way between two men who were also talking, when there was ample room to walk around them on either side. This completely unnecessary action caused BOTH men to spill their drinks. As I watched her go outside, it turns out she did all that just to go hit her vape. When the men followed her to ask why she did that, she hid behind the bouncer. Again, the drinks were good, the other two male bartenders were very nice and respectful, but the woman working is quite possibly the most rude person I have ever encountered in my life. Living with yourself must suck, but don't take it out on other people. Continuing, I have noticed that there are many complaints about this specific bartender going back to 7 YEARS AGO. I have also noticed that there are very obviously fake 5 star reviews praising her, which means she sees the MULTIPLE reviews about her actions and has her friends come and make fake 5 star reviews to make up for it. The bartender that was working Saturday night March 9th, was the rudest woman I have ever encountered. I ordered a water and she literally slammed it down in front of me and when I said thank you she rolled her eyes and walked away. I then was sitting at a table with my friends, waiting for our ride home (no one was causing a scene or anything) we were literally sitting there talking. She comes over 10 minutes later and goes "if all you guys are doing is sitting here drinking water you need to leave right now". You kick someone out for drinking water??????? She continued to push us out of the bar and stated that the buffalo police department was on their way, I'm sorry what???? This woman needs intense therapy. This place needs to be shut down. Over looked! This place has so much character and get so busy on the weekends. The crowds vary which is perfect for the juke box to make everyone happy. The front bar is a good size but the back of the bar is where to hang out, between all the different activities like darts, pool and beer pong tables you can also capture the night in an old school photo booth (so cool!) Sams Suggestion: if you go with a group of people I highly recommend getting a case of Rolling Rock splits! They literally open the box, throw some ice on top and there you go with three 8 packs of 7 ounce beers. It's fun to try out as well if you haven't before! read more

They have really cheap drinks and they have lots of games to play. I was there with big group of people . Some of them where playing beer pongs there. They have darts to play . They have foosball table which almost 6 of us play and was really fun. They have pool to play . But keep it in mind you need to carry cash with you if you wanna play 4 quarters for a pool table and foosball and $1 for darts. However I would not go back there again, because of the smell. I really had too much fun there . The whole bar smell really bad. You should be really waste it to not care and just go there for games and beer :) read more

Frizzy's is a dive bar that takes all kinds. During my last visit, I was seated at the bar next to two 40 somethings who were drinking michelobe ultra. I have been he several times in the past and with adult eyes frizzy's doesn't have much to offer besides location and a cool patio. If you like basic draft beer out of a plastic cup, this is the place for you. If you're bar hopping on Allen and just want a simi cold brew, stop on in. The worst bartender in the world works here. I have honestly never been talked to so rudely before in my entire life. I had bought a long island ice tea and 20 minutes later I dropped the drink on the ground. I told the male bartender i had just dropped the entire drink on the floor hoping I could get another one and he surly answered "WE DON'T DO THAT HERE". I thought wow he's kind of rude. Well he was actually Mother Theresa compared to the female bartender. I figured I would ask her instead and she said no. That was a bit annoying but I figured "hey, they can't be sure I actually dropped my drink" so I figured I would just buy another one. I asked a different guy behind the bar if he could he make me a long island ice tea and he said he didn't know how to make it (???) and he asked the woman if she could make it. I guess she thought I was trying to get him to make me a free one for the one I dropped and she came over and YELLED at me "You're not getting a fu**ing free drink. Get the f**k out of here". I have honestly never experienced someone so nasty, out of line, and rude before in my entire life. And she yelled at me in front of my friends. I was so embarrassed and it kinda ruined my night. I had seen her yell at numerous other customers before and I just assumed it was their fault. Boy, was I wrong. She is in the wrong business if she can't stand people. The funny thing is, I think she's the manager. The best thing she could ever do for this bar is quit. I honestly really like Frizzy's, but now I am not sure if I want to go back. This bar is...interesting. It's nice because it doesn't tend to get too overwhelming with people. The photo booth and foosball table sort of set it apart. Drinks are decently priced and actually have enough liquor in them to say so. They play a wide variety of music that will appeal to most people. On Friday 12/2/16 I had one of the most unpleasant experiences with a bar tender EVER. I had arrived with my friends as the live music was dying down. One of the reasons I ever walk into this place is because it's not your typical Allen Street crowd (new faces). So I put $5 into the jukebox to play some songs for my friends and I. We picked out a few songs then headed back to the bar. As I stood there, my song came on. Not more than 2 seconds in, the male bartender that night skipped my song. The female bartender walks up and asks me what I would like. I responded, "Double captain and coke. Also if you could give me a $1 for the song that was skipped as well". This person was the absolute RUDEST person I have ever met. She literally laughed and said I could leave. I said no, I would like my drink, requesting a manager. She said she was the manager. To add salt to the wound she poured me a watered down drink that literally had zero alcohol in it (see pictures) then charged me $8 for it (she already had my card). I said okay. Politely tipped her and left... Never again. You don't treat people that way. It's not your say to skip songs. It's bad enough there is constantly a sewer leak there and it smells like piss and vomit. Then you serve me watered alcohol? NOPE! One of the funnest and best bar experiences ever, and I've been to more bars than most people see in their lifetime. We went on a Sunday night, 11 pmish, - me, my bf, and 2 girlfriends in Buffalo from Toronto for the night. We didn't know what the place was, but the awesome all-wood facade and deck was inviting. Inside, there were 3 or 4 people talking to the bartender at the end of the bar, and no one else there. We made ourselves at home and the bartender was prompt, very polite yet fun, and easy going. He didn't mind pouring us shot after shot and beer after beer. Basically didn't mind that we were running back and forth from the front bar to the back, which no one was at either. A cool dive bar in buffalo. I have had friends who worked here. Decent service, pool tables, pretty good sized. There is also a photo booth to play with that is always fun. Decor is very old but that's part of the charm. I'm pretty sure I was in here once and ordered a box of beer (splits?) for our group, which they actually served to us. Had a large number of small rolling rock bottles in it. It was fun- though I was pretty close to blacking out so my memory is fuzzy on the details. Holy dive bar. This place is a hidden gem. Dubbed the "gecko bar" by my girlfriend because of the geckos on the outside of the building, Frizzy's is a typical dive-- sticky floor, cheap drinks, loud music... We were here on the day of the St. Patrick's Day parade, so of course, it was packed. The reason I gave it four stars instead of three is because they have a great photo booth in the back ($3) and foosball, pool, and darts. I also loved the "orange red bull bomb" that my girlfriend bought for me. Kinda tastes like orange medicine, but boy, that little bugger (little bit bigger than a shot) had me feeling good. I really enjoyed hanging out here on Sunday for the Bills game. It was very chill. I've been here on a Friday night where you couldn't even move it was so packed. Sunday's are for friends it seems. They updated the bathrooms (2 stalls) which is awesome. They have darts, pool, foozeball, and a juke box. They have an ATM and if you're hungry you can order form Gabriels across the street and they deliver!!! Parking on Allen is always a challenge. I go here because my friend Leah works as a bartender and is a great time to hang out with. Going in here you wouldn't know that there's another back area to play pool and darts. There's also a photo booth to take funny pictures with your friends as you get drunk! If you're nice enough to Leah she may help you put those funny pics on the wall with the thousands of others, and if you look close enough you'll see me in a few :) When a sports event is on, this is a great place to go as well, there are TV's all over the walls and the crowd are real Buffalo sports fans. If you like great drink prices, great bartenders (Leah is the best Bartender in Buffalo!) then you should stop in and make this your new hangout. When sporting events aren't on there is always some type of replay or other sports that can be good for background glances here and there. During the non winter months you can sit outside at a table with your friends and watch the funny things that happen going back and forth down Allen street. I truly enjoy Frizzy's. I've been coming here since I was old enough to go to bars. It's on the gay bar side of Allen st and is usually less crowded than places like the pink, dbgbs, etc down at the other end of Allen. Also, it's gigantic inside. They have a whole back room with pool, darts, booths, etc. I was a bit disconcerted last time I was here to see that they set up security cameras in the back room, they even have a guard now at the stairs to go in back. It didn't stop me from grabbing a drink but it gave me a weird vibe. My favorite part of Frizzy's is the photo booth. You can't say you've been out drinking in Buffalo if you've never set foot in the Frizzy's photo booth and taken stupid pictures with your friends or you S.O. - Frizzy's is great! read more

The stars are all for Leah--the only bartender in the Buff whom I have a crush on. She's friendly and funny. But I've had some odd times here. One time a guy was there, drunk, loud and obnoxious, who I was told is the owner. What a drunken idiot--and the kicker: he was there drunk and drinking more on his anniversary without his wife who was home. He thought that was funny and didn't care. yikes, dude. Clean your act up. Seemed to be a lot of drama behind the bar. The place is a run down hole probably because the owner is a drunk The jukebox is too expensive. And too many times my songs don't get played. I was in Buffalo for one night during my holiday to NYC, came to see the Niagara falls. Stumbled across Frizzys and ended up chilling there until 3am, chatting to the bar man (can't remember his name) and some random locals. Watched the NBA game that was on, had a few glasses of scotch and just had a good time. Very friendly bar. Thanks for making my one night in Buffalo a good one. Hopefully will be back again. Frizzy's is, well, it's a bar. Bottle selection is okay, draft selection is poor. Still, the bartenders are pretty accommodating when it comes to making wacky drinks on request. I've never eaten here. It would feel too strange. Still, I've had some entertaining (strange) bar experiences here. I almost got kicked out for spinning in circles on a loose bar stool seat. I got trapped in a graffiti-covered bathroom stall when a drunk girl leaned against the door and wouldn't move. I spent an hour watching Jaws on the television late at night. I can't recommend coming here if you're over the mental age of 30. But if you're looking for a fun, interesting time, Firzzy's will soon become your new regular place. read more

Let's start off by saying I HATE going to "straight" bars. As a very blatantly gay man, I don't often feel comfortable in them and have been harassed more than once while trying to enjoy my time at straight bars. Thankfully, this has to be the gayest straight bar I've ever been to. Normally finding a fellow gay man in a not-gay-bar is like finding a person of color winning Best Actor at the Oscars -- it's fucking rare. But to my surprise, Frizzy's is pretty damn well balanced and a lot more gay men than I've ever seen at a non-gay bar before. I've even been hit on, which is always amazing (mostly for the free drinks that come with it). They even have a gay bartender/bar-back working here, which may sound stupid to some, but little things like this make all the difference in making me feel comfortable when going into a bar I'm new to. Everyone is super chill and it's a very unpretentious place - you'll find people of all ages and walks of life around which is great. Their drinks are very cheap, the space is big enough to never feel overwhelmed (the front bar can get packed quickly, but the back-end is typically roomie), the staff is very nice, and the crowd is super chill. I love it here. The only problem I have is the God awful music people on the jukebox. Blink182, Avril Lavigne, and Nickelback are played constantly, but I do often find myself sneaking in some Mandy Moore and Cher every now and then, so not all hope is lost. read more

I was trying to enjoy a night out on the town and stopped here for a cocktail. We grabbed our drinks and walked to back into the dimly lit area to find seats. First off... the bar is so dingy and gross as hell ... the smell is that of hot piss in an outhouse no lie. Fruit flies were swarming all around us, one even got in my eye. It was hard enough as it is to take a sip of the drink due to the putrid smell in the building, but as I took a sip I saw three fruit flies swirling around the top of my drink. I was disgusted and went to get my money back. I went back to the bartender, drink in hand, praying perhaps she could make this unfathomable tragedy better. She snatched the drink from my grasp as I asked for a refund. Alas, she made me another drink in the same fruit fly infested glass without so much as a rinse. She was so quick to turn around that I couldn't even tell her I was no longer interested in another drink. She slammed it back on the bar without even saying sorry or anything to that effect, it was incredibly rude! Needless to say a Frizzy's is a dingy, musty, fruit fly filled bar with rude employees. Well the prices were good. The inside is pretty .. cozy.. but the service sucked. Both bartenders were short and aggressive (one female and one male). I felt very uncomfortable witnessing their attitudes toward another customer and had to pay and leave.
