Had a great night at Iron Works recently. Iron Works has a special place in my heart because that is where I saw my last show before the shutdown and my first show after the shutdown, and will always be associated with the importance of supporting live music and not taking live music for granted. Iron Works is an ideal venue in a lot fo way- not too big, not too small, and the perfect place for an intimate experience with a band you enjoy. Most recently we saw Caligula Blushed for their first visit to Buffalo. My other half has been a fan of The Smiths since forever, but we have stopped seeing Morrissey in concert. This was the next best thing to seeing Johnny Marr in concert. Great show, good crowd, not too crowded, and people were actually there to see the show unlike when we saw Nick Lowe at Iron Works and some people would not stop talking!! Post-pandemic, but also anytime, I have to say how incredibly wonderful it is to get fresh air during a show. The garage style door by the stage was open letting in some natural night and lots of fresh air on a cool night, which is really perfect for a show. I'm over crowded, stuffy, hot, and dark. The opening leads to an adorable patio with lots of tables, chairs, and string lights. There's a platform with seating and a little balcony with seating. There are lots places to set your drink whole dancing as the platform and pillars all have ledges. There are two selve-serve water coolers, which is also great to see. I tried a summer cocktail - a Loganberry Dirty Shirley, which was super sweet but that's what it's designed to be. A Coke was $3 and the cocktail specials were $10. Mocktails are $8 and there are other n/a offerings as well, along side beer, liquor, and what have you. They have a garden burger and fries on the menu, in addition to other meat and cheese foods. Tickets to this show were $12, which is so reasonable for a night out. This is more fun than going to the movies and should definitely be a go to if you want to get out of the house. Fresh air, water, seating...all this sets Iron Works apart. If you haven't been, go, and of it's been awhile, go back. My other half was reluctant to go out but was so glad he did.

Silent disco?? I'm in!! Great location and well run. This was the first time I'd been to BIW but I'd definitely go again.

Been here a few times to catch a show-always the Talking Heads cover band, Start Making Sense. Reminds me of a smaller Water Street Music Hall back in Rochester NY. Industrial setup with decent sound, average beer, but really, should anyone complain now that Covid restrictions halve eased and we can see LIVE MUSIC AGAIN?!? I'll answer that-NO! Go out, support your local live venues now before they fall by the wayside. This is your PSA for today. P.S. opening act was Drew and the Blue-they were great!

It was my first time here. Sportsman's Tavern bought the venue three or four years ago. It isn't a dive bar like Sportsman's Tavern though. It's much more intimate. It's classier too. I liked the way they had the tables set up. I loved the stage area too. There is a small bar area where you can order drinks. There was also a waitress coming around asking if we wanted drinks or food. They have a small menu, and the food sounded good, but I wasn't hungry. You can park on the street or in their small parking lot, which holds about 25/30 spots. You'll enter the venue via a dark door near the front parking spot. There is much more room inside, than how it looks from their lot. The lot was a bit hard to find. I ended up driving around the block and then I noticed it. I'd love to come back here and see another concert soon!

By 8:30 the crowd was packed at the bar and there almost wasn't enough room to even stand (maybe it's not normally that busy?) - bathrooms were clean and spacious - staff were all friendly - i recommend buying your ticket online ahead of time. I had to go early to buy one at the door (when I called at 7, they said they expected it to sell out before 8) - it looks a little odd from the outside, but The Cave is definitely a cool spot to stop at if you like live music!

There is a floor standing room area you can watch the music, as well as two elevated seating areas. The seats were pews and very roomy. It was nice to be able to sit and enjoy the show free from the crowds. The sound quality was mostly good but at times I found it was very loud and hard to hear what the musician was saying. Food-wise, we ordered a sampler featuring their steak sandwich with caramelized onions, house-made chips, 3 wings, and potato salad. I don't know if this will be offered in the future or if it was more for their soft opening. The steak sandwich was the standout for me. It came with a piece of strip steak that may not have been the fanciest cut, but it was flavorful and hit the spot. The chips were perfectly crunchy and dangerously addictive. I honestly could've eaten an entire bag of them. The potato salad was another pleasant surprise, creamy and flavorful without being overloaded with onions like so many versions are. There are several exhibits, including: - a timeline that follows the evolution of American music. Each genre is associated with a time period and has a number, which can be punched into a sound stick so you can hear songs from that era.
