We originally booked cabin 1 but after looking at more pictures on the website, we decided we'd rather stay in cabin 2 (it was more up to date). They switched us with no hassle. Gorgeous 2 bedroom cabin. One room had 2 twin beds. The master room has a queen bed and a nice bathroom with a shower. There was also a second bathroom with no shower. Nice kitchen with all supplies you need. Cute living room area with two recliners and a 3 person couch. Tv and fireplace. We used the fireplace everyday, it was so nice! The decor is adorable.. rustic and northwoods themed.. so cute and inviting! We had a beautiful little deck/patio overlooking the lake and gorgeous pine trees. We relaxed our entire trip, playing cards, making cookies, watching movies, reclining by the fire, making hot chocolate, and enjoying the scenery and view. We ate dinner one night at the restaurant attached to the lodge/resort.. cant remember the name. The food was good! I had a wrap and onion rings.. the onion rings were perfect! We were the only ones in there besides two older men.. who we believe were talking about us (we were wearing chicago bears clothes.. in Wisconsin. . Oops!) Overall the lodge is nice.. the cabin we booked through them was beautiful and simple to book! Definitely stay here.. in cabin 2!!!

They host a resort picnic/BBQ one evening early in the week for all their guests, giving a great opportunity to get to know a little about your neighbors for the week. Having 6 cabins of different sizes gave us the perfect fit for our family of 4 plus our little Muffin pup. There was plenty to do both at the resort and the surrounding area. Never a dull moment. Kayaking, fishing, waterski show on Plum Lake; tennis, basketball, and park nearby; horseback riding, go-karting, shopping, and the most beautiful crystal-clear lake at Crystal Lake a short distance away. My husband and son even went paint balling with some of the other resort guests and had a blast! Looking forward to coming back to Plum Gate Resort again. :)

What defines the salad bar as great are the homemade salads, we tried tuna/pasta/pea salad, three bean salad and cauliflower /broccoli /carrot salad which were all great. We were there on a Friday night and had the fried haddock which is one of the better fish frys I've had in WI. It comes with the salad bar/potato & traditional rye bread. Mentioned it to the server with no response. The salad I had was a little wilted and one piece of greens was black and shriveled on the end of one of the stems. The old fashions were spot on. The bartender, he's top notch. Service was just okay nothing special. This will be the last time for Thursday nite special for us. The meals alone were 54 bucks and the only good part of the meal was the bread and broasted chicken which were both prepared fresh. Their Sunday all you can eat chicken dinner is really good.
