Clean and nicely furnished two story timeshare. Located just north of Eagle River, WI. Just a seven minute drive to the center of town where you find restaurants, shopping. Property lines up along a scenic lake with a foot bridge to get to the boathouse. Plenty of grey, black, and orange/red squirrels, chipmunks, and seven deer roam the grounds. We saw the deer at sunrise and dusk. Open the curtain to the siding glass door and the deer look right at you. *Photo op I tell you. The kitchen is stocked rather well with most cooking and serving items you need for meals inside. Patio has a small grill. Our two bedroom two bathroom unit has one bathroom on each level. That means no master bathroom. We made it work for us for the time we were here. One thing we didn't like is there wasn't any extra boxes of tissues. We came for Spring Break and we have seasonal allergies. Thankfully we didn't run out of tissues. There was plenty of towels and tp, oh and blankets. Decorated in mountain cabin and bear motifs. Sturdy (and clean) chairs, couches and rocking chairs. Plenty of places to sit and read. Master bedroom has a sliding glass door that leads to a private balcony. Lower level sliding glass door leads to a patio that's part of the common area. And deer hang around here. Located an hour or more from several ski resorts in both WI and upper peninsula MI. Keweenaw peninsula is a great day trip from here. read more

This is a nice, quiet resort in Spring. Eagle River is a cute town but don't look for lots to do. We came to go skiing in Bessemer and it was not a good winter so the Spring skiing was poor. We arrived just before 4 PM on Saturday (before the office closed) but their clocks must be fast versus our cell phones. We dropped off our paperwork and finally saw someone the day we checked out. The beds were not uncomfortable but we didn't sleep well. Overall, everything was fine but not great. read more

Stayed for a few days while attending my son's wedding nearby. What a great resort! Quiet and comfortable with many things to do. Wish we had more time here. They keep the grounds immaculate! Our condo had everything we needed. read more

My family and I have been going to this resort since the 1980's. Decided in the 90's to get a timeshare. Will always consider this resort as my 2nd home. There are bikes to use, canoes and kayaks for use by the lake, piers to dock boats and sections set up for a beach, a bone fire and also to just sit and relax. There is also an indoor pool, hot tube, sauna, massage room and a fitness room for visitors. Deer, squirrels and chipmunks are all around. Spacious rooms for a family to stay and relaxing atmosphere. read more

Love going to this resort. It has all the amenities for a great family vacation - lakeside condos with boat slips, a golf course, and a swimming pool. It isn't the Ritz, so if you're looking for luxury, this may not be the place. But, it's a great place to get away up north and fish, boat, golf, and have a relaxing getaway. read more

If you like quiet, nature, beauty and water, I highly recommend this resort. The condo is large--2000 square feet, and directly overlooks the lake. Free canoes, fishing docks, swim beach, etc. all onsite, a few yards away. Full kitchen, fully equipped condo with everything you need. Nothing glitzy, fancy, it's old fashioned and cozy. You can boat through as many lakes as you like. Lots of hiking nearby. At the same time, it's only a few miles to the (small) town for anything you need. If you prefer fancy, up to the minute, or tons of activities and nightlife, this is not the place for you. It's a small, quiet, peaceful north woods getaway and we all loved it. read more

Place is a bit dated but it is clean and a nice place to stay for our snowmobile trip.

Great setting in the Northwoods. Located on a beautiful chain of lakes. Stayed in late September. The weather was wonderful, the fall colors were exceptional. Caught some nice fish. Enjoyed golf across the road. Bicycling the immediate area as well as the trails not far away. The staff is especially friendly and helpful. Well equipped condo and a place to park my boat. Eagle River is a nice town with good restaurants, shops, and nearby sights to see. Lake Forest Resort is a great place to stay and the Eagle River area is a wonderful vacation spot. Just returned from a week at LFC outside Eagle River. It is a late Spring so the trees are not leafed out and the fishing was tentative at best (ice out but water still cold even in shallows) and when up in the UP to see Bond Falls there was still a little snow in the woods. Sue and her staff were amazing, anything we needed and question we asked we got. The units a large and fully equipped. We travel 6-8 weeks a year and have traded timeshares for the last 20+ years and I have never seen units with so many items. Extra matches, flashlights in all nitestands and kitchen, canoe paddles and life jackets in the unt no need to go to the rec counter. If I have a complaint about that, Unit 123 did not have a pizza cutter. Snow just off the ground (well snowed the day before actually) and the grounds were in remarkable shape. I testament to what the staff did this Spring and how they prepped for it last Fall. We traveled with our 2 grandchildren (2yrs & 3yrs) and they had room to roam and the playground with the box full of toys for the sandbox was awesome. One of the children got sick while there and we needed a new set of sheets, Sue and her staff had them to us in 15 minutes. In building laundries (coin operated) were great and not too expensive. patio tables and chairs plus a Weber grill for every unit was a great idea, no battling for grill space with other travelers. First time there and we will be back again. read more

We expected so much more from this "resort"...Very disappointed. First, the pool and gym is exceptionally outdated, needs quite a bit of upkeep and a full overhaul. Gym has equipment from the bygone era, is tiny and a just a big insult. Jacuzzi is small and was not working, told it would not be operating until late that evening...Second, the gym/pool is not attached, or on site, you need to drive up a few hills.. Third, no bar or restaurant on site... that is incorrect in the write up. Fourth, our room was very outdated and just not comfortable and it was freezing, temp would not go above 62 degrees, and the front desk closes at 4PM and is not open on Sunday so we froze.. As for the friendly staff, we have not met them yet, woman who checked us in was not too nice or accommodating. We had to go in town to buy fire wood.. Just a huge disappointment...We would never stay here again and 1 day is more than we can deal with. read more

We decided to go to Eagle River for a snowmobiling trip and chose Lake Forest Resort as a place to stay. 1 Week before the trip my work schedule changed and we could no longer go. I called the resort and asked if they would consider changing our reservation to the following weekend. They took my number and told me that they have to ask the manager who will be in later. I did not hear from the manager so I called the next day. Left my name and number. No response again. It took 5 phone calls before I received a dry message stating the policy. And no, they were not willing to rebook my reservation. BEWARE! The resort charges $175 up front. If you don't show up, you loose that deposit. I was so disappointed, I called them again to let them know how I feel. They were unmoved. My fault, but an expensive lesson to learn. Don't fall into the same trap! If you are not 100% sure you'll be able to come, don't book there. It's such a shame. These days customer service is the main vehicle to win repeat business. Needless to say, Lake Forest will not be getting a penny more out of my family beyond that $175 they collected. read more
