The space is truly beautiful and the ability to use both levels indoors for the reception as well as the outdoor space for the ceremony allowed us significant variety with the venue giving us the ability to have our guests be entertained while also having so many fantastic spaces to really strut our decor. As expected, it also provided innumerable photo opportunities. Keeping guests shuffling from place to place was great for alleviating the oh so common uncertainty of where to be/what to do at weddings, while allowing for the progression of events throughout the evening. The dance floor upstairs is amazing for entertaining and allows for guests to maximally view the first dance/parent-child dance (as well as guests dancing themselves!). The outdoor space needed little decoration due to the well-cultivated plant life and the seats outside the gazebo comfortably provided seating for everyone. Our day-of experience was wonderful! For the day-of festivities, Simeon (previously site manager and now owner) was very responsive, helpful, and engaging - often rushing to see to any need we had and trying to anticipate our needs as well. The only challenging parts of our experience were related to communication (or lack thereof) with Simeon. While initially he was congenial, responsive and very helpful, the intervening months between booking and our big day was very frustrating at times. One of the major issues was lack of communication. While running a venue is no doubt hard work and time consuming, so often we did not receive any response to vital questions about the space, the amenities, and supplies available for up to a month at a time. The lack of response became so dire we had to reach out through our caterer to try and get a response to some very basic questions. There was also another difficulty that arose that made us feel very uncomfortable. When discussing our wedding with Simeon, we mentioned we were having a Jewish-gay ceremony. Simeon came to us later and asked if his house photographer could take some images of our wedding for promotional materials. We accepted this, but asked that we have access to those images as well. Simeon responded implying that we had misunderstood and that he wanted access to our photographers images for his use (despite clear communication via e-mail). We declined this. He responded that he would just take images himself with his cell phone for his own use. This felt very invasive and made us feel as though our ceremony was a marketing ploy for him which felt rather offensive and disrespectful. This was never truly rectified and we do not know if he was surreptitiously taking images of our ceremony. Simeon's behavior throughout the rest of the day-of was very helpful and attentive. The Meadows Event Center is beautiful and offers so many wonderful photo and entertaining opportunities but we would suggest being direct and very clear with all requests and doing so in writing. And make sure that all of your questions are answered at booking (or before if possible).

They don't make you use their vendors- you are allowed to do what YOU want. They provide a layout of the inside to help you with the table set up. They have a bar that's included- you just bring the drinks and the decor and your vision. My wedding day was so perfect and magical and I am soooo grateful I chose the D Barn. So if you're looking for a beautiful, affordable venue that lets you create your special day your way- this is the place 100%.

From all of the wedding details, we probably received the most compliments on how gorgeous our venue was, so you cannot go wrong. It helped so much to have so many elements included and taken care of- coordinator, tables and chairs, table cloths, napkins, bartender, servers, the arch, and many of the decorations. I didn't even feel the need to have a florist included in the day because of the landscaping and natural elements that were already part of Shupe. That helped a ton! Half was set up for the ceremony with seats and a gorgeous view of Boulder and the Foothills all around. Then just behind that was a bar set-up for the reception after the wedding. The other half was our dinner tables and buffet for the food. While we ate they removed the chairs and the ceremony side became a dance floor. If you're looking for a venue space to have an intimate gathering with beautiful views and a very professional staff I'd recommend checking this place out. It was lovely.

Surrounded by a lovely garden, the interior of the barn/reception hall/Quonset hut was surprisingly stark and awkwardly decorated with gaudy gold cherubs and wishing wells. This was my only complaint about the venue. The farm owner talked to my party about the history of his farm and it's future development, and the chef socialized with us before dinner was served. The table was set with an endearing assortment of mismatched chargers, plates and flatware and the chef could tell the story of how he personally sourced each. The meal was served family-style: great wide bowls of freshly snipped salad greens and flowers were so thinly veiled by simple vinaigrette that the sweetness of the greens, pepper of the flowers, licorice of the fennel and snap of the stems was the star. Bread served, sourced at a nearby bakery was fresh and perfect to sop up every speck of the thick orangey Romesco sauce that held the grilled eggplant dressed with crunchy breadcrumbs in place. Roasted fingerling potatoes, slightly charred and addictively creamy almost played second fiddle to those seductive eggplant slices. Finally, wedges of an apple tart, dressed with cheddar cheese crisps and a dollop of sour cream was tasty, but did not seem to appeal to the group as it might in a more regionally amicable setting like cheesehead Wisconsin or the eastern seaboard. All in all, a simple, unfussy venue for a small wedding or a group event. The scenery and service could not be friendlier if a bit unrefined. I do hope more book this place in the future!

The biggest complaint was that the vodka/cranberries tasted like straight cranberry. After a few of our old-fashioned's , we thought that they seemed pretty weak. I asked for two straight glasses of Jameson. I poured one into my wife's old fashioned to make it taste better and then I started to drink my straight drink. I took one sip and realized that it was ice tea. They literally were putting iced tea into our drinks. The Jameson bottle had ice tea in it. The bartender argued for a few minutes than admitted that they fill the bottles with other things and put them on the shelf for "display" purposes. I made her open a fresh bottle and pour us new drinks. This was after they threatened the brides father with a $750 dollar fine per person if they brought any of their own alcohol onto the premise. My suggestion would be to just drink draft beer and canned drinks. These guys are ripping people off and admitted to it. I would love for.these guys to reach out and argue this one because they have been caught.

She was very communicative and involved in the planning process. The space is very beautiful and perfect for 20-50 people in an intimate setting. The food was very good, and all of the staff were very sweet. They answered whatever questions we needed answered. It is a bit of a hands on venue, and you have to hire someone to set up your decor or get someone to help, but that was totally fine. We also did our own music and rented their speaker. Overall, the evening went very smoothly and I would recommend Bristlecone!

We received so many compliments on the food and on the venue, overall. We had about 43 guests total, including us as the bride and groom, and it was the perfect, intimate size. We are so happy with our decision to have our reception at the Bristlecone Inn!
