The reception area fit everyone easily and no one was crowded. There were areas for guests to explore and it's definitely a cute farm. The only tricky part was finding the venue as it's fairly secluded, but it was thankfully labeled well!

Surrounded by a lovely garden, the interior of the barn/reception hall/Quonset hut was surprisingly stark and awkwardly decorated with gaudy gold cherubs and wishing wells. This was my only complaint about the venue. The farm owner talked to my party about the history of his farm and it's future development, and the chef socialized with us before dinner was served. The table was set with an endearing assortment of mismatched chargers, plates and flatware and the chef could tell the story of how he personally sourced each. The meal was served family-style: great wide bowls of freshly snipped salad greens and flowers were so thinly veiled by simple vinaigrette that the sweetness of the greens, pepper of the flowers, licorice of the fennel and snap of the stems was the star. Bread served, sourced at a nearby bakery was fresh and perfect to sop up every speck of the thick orangey Romesco sauce that held the grilled eggplant dressed with crunchy breadcrumbs in place. Roasted fingerling potatoes, slightly charred and addictively creamy almost played second fiddle to those seductive eggplant slices. Finally, wedges of an apple tart, dressed with cheddar cheese crisps and a dollop of sour cream was tasty, but did not seem to appeal to the group as it might in a more regionally amicable setting like cheesehead Wisconsin or the eastern seaboard. All in all, a simple, unfussy venue for a small wedding or a group event. The scenery and service could not be friendlier if a bit unrefined. I do hope more book this place in the future!

There was…read morenot one bad review from anyone in attendance, and both my husband and myself would not have changed one thing about the day and overall experience. Although wedding planning and execution can typically tend to be a stressful and chaotic experience, Pastures of Plenty's warm and authentic approach absolutely mitigated anything even close to that. For that, we cannot thank them enough. We hope others share in a similar experience with Pastures of Plenty in the future. After our initial visit it was easy to see that Lyle was blessed to have found his calling in this life, and it is clearly shown through his passion and tangible output on the farm and in the community. He solidified that notion for us on August 19, 2017.

My wedding was cancelled 3 months before the date and I would hate for that to happen to another bride! Below are the links to the Boulder Country regulations and hearing where the farm was found to be out of compliance on the events they were holding and in permitting of structures on the property. I have also bullet-pointed a couple of the main event compliance points: http://www.bouldercounty.org/property/build/pages/docketdetails.aspx?docid=954 http://www.bouldercounty.org/property/build/docketsdocs/ep150003boccact.pdf - Events are limited to 99 guests or less - All events must end at 9:30pm with music to stop at 9pm (earlier on Sundays) - Only acoustical music is allowed - No DJ's, No amplified bands - Events over 50 people must shuttle all guests to and from the venue (added cost) - Any microphone used for speeches needs to be done by 6:30pm - Restrooms have to be removed because there was no permit so port-o-potties have to be used until re-permitted and rebuilt. Best of luck brides! Claire

Second to saying yes, hiring the Duchess of Denver was the best wedding decision we made! From…read morespending hours truly getting to know us, to having all the right connections, to gracefully navigating a weather pivot on our wedding day, Alex surpassed every expectation. My husband and I knew we wanted to create a unique, beautiful wedding experience that we, our family and friends would cherish and remember. We'd wanted elements of a traditional wedding weekend but one that felt fun and not like every other wedding we'd been to. We also knew that, as a busy engineer and lawyer, we had very little knowledge about what goes into a great wedding and very little time or desire to learn the intricacies of "the perfect wedding." Alex spent hours asking probing and fun questions. He really got to know our visions, desires and quirks. There were so many times when we said things like "we want a dinner the night before, but not a typical rehearsal reception with people standing around at hightop in a bland conference room." He absorbed all of it and turned it into a fabulous weekend. Alex's encyclopedic knowledge about James and Rebecca was invaluable when my work got super crazy a few months before the wedding. When I told Alex that I could do big decisions, but the little ones, like choosing ribbon color or envelopes for invitations, were hurting my brain, Alex stepped in and planned everything based on what he knew about us. Alex found us a breathtaking space in the Penrose Room at the Broadmoor, he coordinated flowers to match my colorful dress, helped pick perfect delicious meal stations that suited a variety of dietary needs, organized the music and stayed on top of the hotel until their 3,000 square foot Parker suite opened up. Alex interviewed and found the best make-up artist, designed hand calligraphed journals for our guests, and created guest bags that with fun and useful things. I could go on and on! Alex's management of every detail meant the weekend ran smoothly and everyone was happy! He created a bowling night for our out-of-town guests and wedding party, worked with the hotel make sure family members with friction had rooms far away from each other, stocked our bride and groom suite with snacks and champagne, moved us us through the precise schedule of photos, ceremony and reception, and organized a fun and delicious good-bye brunch. When a surprisingly rainy June meant our outdoor ceremony space was a mud-field, Alex pivoted and redesigned a large alcove in the reception space to be a cozy ceremony space. So many of our friends and family have said that ours was one of the best weddings they'd ever attended. Ok, ok, maybe they have to say that, but in this case, I think it's probably true! We would recommend Alex to any couple, especially successful professionals who want to create a first class, memorable experience (but might now have the first clue of how do to it).

We hired them a little late in the game, and it was the best decision we made! From the moment they came on board, they were lifesavers in so many ways! They are enthusiastic, kind, creative, thorough, show great attention to detail, and helped make this the most amazing experience! The day of the wedding was actually relaxing and fun for all of us because these special women worked SO HARD to make everything perfect!! We already have them on speed dial for daughter #2. Kim and Vanessa, you have our love and gratitude for an AMAZING job!
