We were on a little hike near by and the trail led straight to the winery.... so we had a little treat before heading back ;-) The staff are always kind and helpful. Sara and Sam just magically appeared like magical Genies at every step with drinks in hand, plates of food in front of us, and confirmation that it was good to move to the next steps along the way. They coordinated with our other vendors beautifully, and deservedly have an outstanding reputation with other vendors in the area such as DJs and caterers. Sara met with us in person and checked in over phone and email regularly, and was always responsive to questions. There was never ANY doubt about timing, pricing, or planning. Sara was accommodating with every request that we had and bent over backward to make our dream wedding happen (under budget!!). I would rate them ten stars if I could. Julie, who runs the McCreery House, makes sure that everything down to the last detail is fabulous. Plenty of room for 100 people, including a small dance floor. Sound system needs some work, we got blasted every time it was turned on. We were not so impressed with the staff. We got there for a wedding reception, but the staff said we were early. Fine. We hung out outside in the beautiful weather. 90 minutes later, the Bride arrives and is shocked to see the entire wedding standing outside. Apparently some communication had been missed as to when the guests would be allowed in. The event planner definitely didn't make an effort to blend in during the reception, we saw her tinkering with the sound system all night long, and most of the night there was no music. I hope this was just a fluke.

The party started early evening, so we were able to do some mini golf as well as some day drinking in the lounge/bar area. We also were able to use the big yard to play some yard games. When it got dark a DJ was set up and bumping music the fire pit got lit the hot tub got kicking. It seemed unreal it was beautiful! Being here felt like being at home kicking back with the boys, it felt homey like I have lived there my whole life and grew up there. It was a very pleasing experience. The location is perfect because we were able to make a quick run to walmart, which is across the street! Overall this has been the best Venue I have been to and the owner I believe Spencer was his name was a really attentive guy and very helpful getting this together for my buddy! I would recommend this place to anyone having a party, wedding or event of any kind. Oh and I did see they had a kids area but this was an adult party so no kiddos but I would definitely do a family gathering here with my family because it's a safe clean enclosed place!

We originally booked Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch for our September 2026 wedding but ultimately canceled…read more8 months in advance due to multiple concerns that arose during the planning process. One major issue was the venue tasting, which unfortunately did not reflect the quality or level of organization we expected. Communication was inconsistent -- our coordinator changed during the process, but we were never formally notified or introduced to the new coordinator beforehand. The tasting itself raised several concerns: * Food and appetizers were very disappointing and did not appear to represent the venue's higher-value menu options * No food labels were provided, which made it difficult to identify dishes (ironically the only labeled item on the appetizer table was the hand sanitizer bucket) * Multiple food safety concerns were observed * Buffet service ran 15-20 minutes behind schedule * Service details were disorganized (no cloth napkins, no straws until requested, incorrect utensils provided) * Staff repeatedly opened the outdoor doors, making the dining area cold enough that guests were wearing winter jackets There were also logistical issues such as no microphone or greeting to start the tasting and no closing remarks or communication from staff. After this experience, we decided to cancel our booking well in advance of the wedding date. Unfortunately, the contract language regarding refunds proved ambiguous. Although only our deposit was due at the time, we had made additional payments early. When we canceled, the venue refunded 50% of the total amount paid to date rather than 50% of the deposit, which resulted in us losing $1,800. My recommendation to future couples is to review the cancellation terms extremely carefully and avoid making payments earlier than required until you fully understand how refunds are calculated.
