This place was chosen for a Niece's wedding. The venue was beautiful as the reception was building up, numerous guests were complaining about the drinks being served at the bar. The biggest complaint was that the vodka/cranberries tasted like straight cranberry. After a few of our old-fashioned's , we thought that they seemed pretty weak. I asked for two straight glasses of Jameson. I poured one into my wife's old fashioned to make it taste better and then I started to drink my straight drink. I took one sip and realized that it was ice tea. They literally were putting iced tea into our drinks. The Jameson bottle had ice tea in it. The bartender argued for a few minutes than admitted that they fill the bottles with other things and put them on the shelf for "display" purposes. I made her open a fresh bottle and pour us new drinks. This was after they threatened the brides father with a $750 dollar fine per person if they brought any of their own alcohol onto the premise. My suggestion would be to just drink draft beer and canned drinks. These guys are ripping people off and admitted to it. I would love for.these guys to reach out and argue this one because they have been caught. read more

I attended a family wedding at Brookside Gardens last weekend - the venue was chosen partially because the bride is from the area... but more importantly, Brookside Gardens was chosen because it offered scenic backdrops, outdoor ceremony area with this amazing water feature, and a comfortable reception space on site so guests don't have to go too far. So after all the good vibes, why did it only get 3 stars? The location is a little tricky for events with lots of out of town guests (like this one)... there is a B&B in Berthoud but most of us ended up staying in Loveland or Longmont. Regardless, it was a great experience and we really enjoyed visiting this part of the country. We had a 2yo at our table - for some reason, they didn't give him a chair. So it's not that we'll be putting a 2yo on his own chair without a booster, but the reception space didn't have a high chair or booster available when we asked. The site is shared between a landscaping business and the reception centre/ day spa (owned by the same family) - which I think is a great combination. But the signage was not very clear on site and I ended up driving through the landscaping section before hitting the proper reception centre. Overall, pretty good venue. Brookside Gardens Event Center is located just outside of Berthoud, Colorado. A quick one hour drive from Elevate Photography's studio. The event center was built in 2009 and was custom designed to accomodate weddings and large events. Couples will enjoy the many unique spaces within the gardens to decorate and make their own. There is ample space for even the largest of wedding parties to get ready in. The bridal suite is private and offers plenty of mirrors and facilites. There is enough available light in the rooms to make for dramatic portraits with the bride. Brookside also has a day spa and salon that makes for a great start to the big day! Outdoor ceremonies are held on a large patio with mountain views surrounded by lush landscaping and bubbling water features. The bride makes her grand entrance into the ceremony through a great arbor lush with hanging flower pots. The grounds around Brookside Gardens offer endless opportunites for unique and fun portraits with the wedding party and bride and groom. A large barn, aspen grove, water fall and open field are just a few great locations for photos. The reception hall can be fitted to fit the most intimate of gatherings to the grandest of wedding receptions. The hall has translucent walls that offer beautiful light during daytime receptions. It has come to my attention that this event hosted a corporate Christmas dinner. There were many tables set up for a table of 5 but only one table set up for one individual with individual name tags. This person had to sit by themselves at a table with a place setting for one outside the group of tables tucked in a corner. This was very disturbing and demeaning towards this individual. If you have a heart and soul, you would have made it possible for one of the tables of 5 to be a 6 top. Where is your sense of inclusion!!!! Never will I recommend this event center!!! read more

My daughter and son in law were married the end of June. The venue and staff were amazing. Our consultant, Linda, was our right hand. She kept us on schedule and organized. Such a sweet person. The guests commented on how beautiful the venue was. I was appreciative of how easy the staff was to work with. Wedding was gorgeous would do it again. The mothers, grandmothers, and bridesmaids all got our hair done there. The ladies were beautiful. Can't say enough great things about them. Had a wonderful Mother's Day spa trip to Brookside Gardens Aveda Spa with my mother-in-law this past weekend. The venue is very pretty, though not set up as a traditional spa like Burke Williams or such. They had a shared sauna, but the steam rooms were basically private showers (albeit very cool showers, with the torso-height bidirectional shower heads in addition to the one up top). There are a few sitting areas both on the first floor and the upper floor, where one can relax and drink fruit- or vegetable-flavored water (the one this past weekend was strawberry - yum!). My mother-in-law and I both had the 90 minute hot stone massage. My massage therapist, Shannon, was amazing - she gave just the right pressure and hit all the places I asked her to hit. My mother-in-law also had a wonderful experience, and I believe the therapist's name was Stephanie, but I can't speak to any particulars there. With such a great experience, I'd also have to say that the price was GREAT - $110 for a 90 minute massage. They also run quite a few specials - including a couple mother's day specials that one can purchase through the end of May and can be redeemed for up to a few months after. This spa is a great little secret parked away in an out of the way town. It's in a great location if you're in Berthoud, Johnstown, Loveland or Longmont. I will definitely be back! read more

Though it's an AVeda spa there was no pressure to buy stuff (which ruins the experience when I am being up-sold during a facial or massage). My wife loved going here for massages. When they decided to close the spa side they promised to refund the money I had just spent on gift certificates. Apparently the owners have decided to keep the money that they haven't earned and will not fefund any of the money they took from patrons!! Pretty shady business practice!! Husband bought me a gift certificate, this was my first time at Brookside. Aveda salons always stand out with their identifiable culture. Brookside is no exception. Comfortable atmosphere, friendly, efficient staff, and no detail of the space is overlooked. Lockers for your items, so as you go from service to service, you don't have to worry about your things. Stress less. The stylist had a difficult time with the color service I was getting, but was patient and attentive til she got it to work. I don't feel this was a deficiency on her part, but rather just a difficult aspect of my hair composition. She worked on me for, literally, hours, and didn't charge me the full price. Bless her heart. I will definitely go back. The service menu looked reasonably priced, and there was a nice variety of spa services offered, including couples services. read more

We would highly recommend Brookside Gardens and Event Center as well as Tiffany the owner/event coordinator. She came through for us at the last minute after our original venue cancelled on us 11 days before the event. The venue is gorgeous and the staff very friendly. Tiffany helped make our day so much less stressful and made sure everything ran so smoothly. With a pandemic in place they made sure that all of the proper protocols were followed and made us and our guests feel safe to celebrate. Our photos turned out amazing, with plenty of great photography locations on-site. The in-house catering was amazing, our guests commented that the Mac and cheese was the best they ever had. They worked with our food needs, including allergies, and even made an off menu item for us. If you are looking for a venue I would highly recommend checking them out. read more

I had paid this venue in full for my April wedding, about three months prior to our wedding date we had a unfortunate family emergency, which lead us to having to move our date.. They staff and owners have done nothing for me. My fiance and I have called for three months straight and everytime we are told that the manager is out of office, or that no one there could help us. Especially during our time of panic and stress, They could care less about their customers and are terrible business owners. To say we are frustrated with them doesn't even begin to cover it. Very very very unprofessional business. Would not recommend working with this venue. We are yet to receive any information from them and our date we had set up with them is now less than a month away. Do not give them your money. There was a time that I'd give this place 5 stars but after my recent haircut I will NOT come back. I've always thought the staff was rude, especially when I sent an email to make an appointment. I didn't hear anything for 7 days. I finally called and said, "Hey, why don't you respond to your emails?" I was rudely told that it takes 7-10 days for them to reply!??? Then why have that option on your website? Yet the stylist I had been going to was so good I was willing to put up with it a rude staff. Then she left. So the staff recommended Erin to me. What a mistake! My hair was a disaster! I had to spend another $50 at another salon to correct her mistake. I did tell the receptionist that I was not happy with cut and the experience. She rolled her eyes! I won't be back. From a customer prospective there seems to be a lot of turn over. That suggest to me that the eye for detail and management are lacking. This is the perfect venue for any event. We had my daughters wedding here and it was perfect. From the beautiful grounds, views of the mountains and amazing staff. Weddings are stressful. Not here. When you sign up for a wedding, you are given a planner. We had Amanda. This young lady was incredible. In all the craziness that comes with hundreds of people she never lost her cool. Brookside Gardens is a absolutely a 5-Star venue! You walk in the spa and are just enveloped with rich wood panelled room and lush furnishings. My husband and I had a couples massage last year on my birthday which was out of this world. We were greeted by our masseuses and discussed with them the treatments we wanted, and then ushered into a beautiful dormer room complete with double shower / steam bath, two tables and lovely lounging furniture. The treatments were great, and afterwards we were treated to cake and champaign! Really a day not to be forgotten and the hubby got mega points. We've been to Brookside Gardens for a number of other events as well, large dinners that easily seated a lot of people, and the food repeatedly has been very good. They also have a smaller building out back for smaller events which I'm eager to invent a family reunion or some such event just to be able to use their space! read more

I live outside of Berthoud, and I never plan ahead with my hair appointments. So, I have had many different stylists there. I have had the best experiences at Brookside Gardens. The staff is friendly, efficient,caring and fun. I've had a few stylists who don't "scrub" my scalp as much as I'd like, but I always enjoy the end results. Another reviewer panned Erin, but I loved her! She gave a wonderful scalp massage, really scrubbed my scalp during the shampoo and gave me a fantastic cut and style. Also, I have never been pressed into buying products. This is a wonderful venue with a fantastic staff. read more

This was an beautiful outdoor event center. My son recently had a magical Wedding Day here, however the reception was poorly staffed to handle a group of over 200. It was clear the staff was very frustrated and took it out on our guests. This included very inappropriate language and name calling to guests. Very unprofessional!!!! In addition, Brookside Gardens sent their crew in and started tearing our party 15 minutes before it was to end. Many guest lost suit jackets, jewelry, eyewear, keys etc... This review focuses on the salon area of the spa. I have had my hair highlighted, colored and cut on various occasions from various stylists from their most experienced to their newer stylists. Overall, my experiences have been positive and I have almost always loved my hair after each experience. There have been a couple girls in the last that I just didn't match with on a personal level but that is to be expected. I thoroughly enjoy going to this Aveda salon and enjoy the extra perks such as the scalp massage and hand massages that they do while your hair is being done. I got married this summer at Brookside Gardens but had I received full disclosure from them before signing the contract I would've found a different location. You're told the price includes tables, chairs and linens but they don't tell you that their staff won't set any of it up, and you aren't allowed to do it either. I had to pay my caterer's staff to be at my wedding starting 2 hours before, and staying to the bitter end because Brookside REQUIRES that the caterer does setup and tear down. Basically you're paying Brookside $6000 for the privilege of being on their property. The price includes a planner... well at least someone who will send you an email a few weeks before the wedding so you can meet and tell her how you want the tables arranged, but she doesn't help you plan anything. However, you need to have your caterer there too because she's the one that sets it all up. Did I mention they only allow you to choose a caterer from their "preferred" list. (Who are all expensive.) My caterer was amazing but Brookside staff leave a lot to be desired. The photos you see on their website were from a few years ago when apparently Brookside actually paid a little money to provide gorgeous flower baskets. Apparently they go the cheap route now because when I showed up they were tiny little baskets that might have come from Lowes. Don't get me wrong I had a wonderful wedding but it's because on the big day I knew there was nothing I could do about all of Brookside's shortcomings and just made the best of it. Maybe this review will help other brides so they can be more informed than I was or at least set their expectations low for this venue. Check out the Tapestry House instead. read more
