They called back and quoted $1,040 for the front brake pads + rotors. Again, I explained that the rotors are in perfect condition and do not need replacement. They replied that if I refuse to do the rotors, they won't replace just the brake pads. The surface of the rotors has no grooves, no scratches, they are not warped, and the pads have still 2-3 mm thickness; the brakes do not squeal. This is bargain-basement sales tactics, trying to push for the purchase of parts that do not need replacement. Shameful! Incidentally, their quote for pads + rotors was 50% higher than that of another shop that I have been using for years. I am taking my business elsewhere, and will not give them another call in future, as they are out to rip people off.

They made sure the horn honks, although you aren't supposed to use it unless it's an emergency. All lights, blinkers and otherwise, wipers, tire treads are checked. The new owner is running things a bit differently, and I'm unsure of the experience of his team. Several of the adjacent shops recently closed and were still vacant. I'm not sure what the future holds for this building. Positives The new owner seems to be fully staffed. They check in your car and enter it into a database. They appear competent and efficient. However, I did not have any major repairs today. Today, I did an oil change and safety check, and it came out to a little over $140. ($30 for the safety check.) They seem to be relatively busy, and we have serviced all three of our vehicles here. It appears that they are set up to do most servicing and repairs. I will update my review if I need to do something other than an oil change. Negatives They accept credit cards, but I found out that they add a 3% surcharge. Unfortunately, I was informed about the charge as he was running the card. I offered to pay with my debit card, but he said it was too late. He simply tried to push the cancel button repeatedly and said, "Sorry." Suggestion For better customer service, he should have offered to do a refund and then use my debit card. Also, post a sign at the counter about new policies or charges.
