It's different in that the guy who was a member had keys and access to the courts anytime. Payment is on an honor system since there was no one at the front desk to kick you off the courts right when you're time is up. I can't find any information online to confirm this since they don't have a website, but that's my impression as a first-timer. There are five courts and they are all in great shape, even though the building, lobby and facilities are very dated. The lobby has some seating, refreshments and whatnot. No-frills and it is very, very hot on the courts. If I lived closer, I might consider looking into a membership here for the wintertime. All-access is pretty awesome.

There are some rare members that, for various reasons, have the privilege of having keys to the club, which is what Annie D. noticed in her 6/25/12 review. This is the oldest indoor tennis club in the twin cities, so you have to be a little understanding that the facility, by modern standards, is fairly basic. I practically grew up on these courts decades ago, so it will always have a place in my heart. This club is about value. It is very inexpensive, both in terms of the annual membership fee, as well as the hourly court fees. The courts have some very slight dead spots here and there (a lot of people don't even know about them), and, depending on the weather conditions, a couple times per year there is condensation that will drip from the ceiling and form small puddles that need to be wiped here and there. Those are facts. Given its age, the place is in pretty good shape. It's not Lifetime Fitness, but the members are pretty happy, and there is a long wait list to join.

He had secured a spot for a team at the legendary Saint Paul Curling Club and invited me in. I had never Curled a day in my life but decided to give it a go. So happy I did. First practice I fell down again and again and again. First match I was hyperventilating from sweeping for another newbie. Practice makes better. Everyone at the club has been super cool about playing with our group of novices. Getting excited for next season this October. We have a handful of wins under our belt and even competed in a Bonspiel (Curling Tournament). The tradition in curling is that the winning team buys the losing team a round of beer. Kind of torn now between winning and free beer.

The club itself is located on a busy part of Selby Avenue in St. Paul. I've noticed the club with its red neon lights; a number of times while in the neighborhood. After eating next door on a Friday night, I decided I should try to coral my friends and take a peek inside. What we found was a tournament going on. We were greeted by a woman who was a great spokesperson for the club and the sport. She was friendly and shared with us all about the sport and the history of this special club. There's a bar upstairs too that offers a small bar food menu and overhead views of the curling lanes. I recommend to anyone to stop in and see for yourself. I plan on coming back to watch a little more over a beer...or two.

The exercises are generally low weight and high repetition geared towards full body workouts that allow us to tone and burn calories. It is east to increase weight to build strength where you see fit. This is not a body building gym. There are six stations giving you a quick full body 30 minute workout We run a set of exercises Monday and Tuesday, a different set Wednesday and Thursday , and a combination on Friday and Saturday. This gives you three different workouts a week. We change one screen or (station) on each of the three workouts a week. There is a Timer up on the wall that tells you right where to be and when to move. You are sure to get the most out of your 30 Minutes.

When asking simple questions the the front desk girl didn't know he proceeded to make comments like "this isn't a daycare" "we don't do that" and when I was getting no where with this person I asked for the corporate number he proceeded to say "I am corporate" and refused to give me the number when asked multiple times. Then there is another manager whose name I don't know that hit on me and asked for my number. Extremely unprofessional and gross. Don't go to this location if you can help it.
