I was on a mini vacation in Belmar and he was referred to me but wasn't in the office. I left a message. His asst called me back and asked if I could come in ASAP. When I did, the Dr followed 2 minutes later. He examined me and told me to relax and lay down When I did he told me to wiggle my toes And within that second I wasn't paying attention, he broke my neck. I gasped in shock!!!! He asked me to sit up and I was able to move my neck back and fourth. I said "OMG how did you do that??!?!" He laughed and told me I just needed a neck adjustment I had feared the worst before meeting him at his office I thought I was Paralyzed!!!!! The staff office manager giggled and told me I must have slept wrong. It was a nice but shocking experience for me, but he helped me.

Lol I came on Yelp to look up their new address for my appointment and saw a really bad review, but after reading it, I realized they are talking about some other business (they don't even have a Heather at this business..weird but I didn't want it to hurt their business, so I figured I would let you'll know who they really are!) I never thought Accupunture would be for me..needles? No thanks! BUT Joe is an amazing Dr and has saved me from having to have sinus surgery! I was getting repeat infections especially during allergy season and was constantly at the Dr. and in antibiotics which I hate! I fly often for work and that made the sinus pain unbearable. My Dr said surgery was the only fix, so I figured I had nothing to lose trying Accupunture first. I started out with two sessions a week and cut back to a few times a month maintenance. I'm such a believer that when my 18 sessions covered by insurance runs out, I'll pay for more sessions out of pocket. I now run to him for everything; after shoulder surgery, when I have sciatica pain, digestion issues from too much Yelping and I'm wanting to see if it will work for weight-loss as well (one can hope but if you follow me, then you see allll the places I go to eat, so doubtful) lol! My DH goes for arthritis pain as well. Staff is sweet, Katie at the front desk is a doll and always works with our crazy schedules. The sessions are like a recharge for your body and brain, Joe sets you up in a private room, has a salt lamp on and spa music playing and you zone out for a half hour while those little needles do their job! I promise it doesn't hurt, I have had maybe two times where there was a little pain with one, but that is only because I have such bad sinuses. From a patient access perspective, one of the things I love about this place is the cleanliness and modern feel of the office. No old ratty equipment, no out-of-date posters on the wall, and none of those other things we've all seen that admittedly force you to doubt a place when you're entrusting your health and body to them. I also love the staff's flexibility and ease of making an appointment. I don't think they've EVER failed to accommodate a specific appointment time for me, and there is virtually NEVER a wait if you show up at your scheduled time. If you're in a lot of pain and need immediate attention, they will also squeeze you in on short notice. You could practically walk into this place and be seen without a wait. Now onto Dr. Stiso. Super friendly, knowledgeable guy who really knows his stuff. Most recently I was treated over several weeks for a strained hip flexor that seemed to also have pinched a nerve due to the inflammation. After the initial injury, I was in so much pain I could barely walk. On my first visit, Dr. Stiso adjusted my pelvis and treated me immediately with laser therapy. He also provided me very clear direction on what I could and could not re: physical exercise, along with a schedule for icing the area. Even after two days, I began to noticeably improve. After a week, I was able to walk with no issue and the pain was gone. I continued to come in for adjustments to the hip area and was told I could gradually get back into the gym. Now I'm back to normal and feeling 1000% better. Life saver! As long as this practice remains in business, I will choose Stiso over any other chiropractor in the area.
