This was by far one of the coolest places we have ever stayed and will definitely be back. The contactless check-in was a breeze and the location was perfect to walk to things downtown. There was ample parking and the lot was right next to the building. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on and the TV in this room was huge! Unfortunately someone had logged out of alot of the apps so we weren't able to watch Hulu or Disney+ but that's okay. Something that was awkward was the bathroom, while beautiful, had no shower curtain so it was impossible NOT to get water everywhere when showering and you could see the water damage / rot forming on the vanity. The other thing was the "full hot breakfast" which was just some dry granola and cereal and a waffle iron. We ended up eating breakfast out each morning because my wife can't eat gluten. I was expecting full hot breakfast to mean eggs, protein, etc. The room was clean, and the AC / heat worked well as well as the water heater. I rarely saw staff so when we ran out of toilet paper or needed water we had to run to the DGX. None of that is a major detriment as we will def be back! Just some notes for improvement. Looks like a coffee shop is opening on the premises too! Garden was under construction which was kind of a bummer but it's off season so it's expected!

Very disappointed in our stay. There was construction underway so no nice common area to enjoy, small back self-serve coffee and water with cookies in the evening. We selected the Bistro Suite mostly for its balcony, view of the garden and spa tub. The garden was a sad affair with mostly bare ground, no color and the main feature - a clothesline. The seating on the balcony was a wicker loveseat with torn worn spots in the cushion. In our room - the ceiling fan didn't work, the spa tub didn't work, the cold water tap on one of the sinks did not work. We continually had trouble connecting to and staying connected to the feeble WiFi. We did have a nice breakfast but had to walk a few blocks to another property for it. The huge bright spot in this stay was Damien, the manager. He has a permanent smile and was very, very personable and helpful. It seems the property has no overnight staff on premise so Damien came from his house to help address the WiFi issues.

I had a really nice stay at Front Street Inn this week! The location is great if you're navigating downtown, and parking is super easy in their front lot. Check-in was a breeze and I was placed in the Monet room which is the closest to the dining area. Chris was super friendly and helpful in answering my questions and offered to give me a rundown of Wilmington. Breakfast in the morning had baked goods, a hot egg dish, coffee, juices, fruit, yogurt, and a few more goodies. During the rest of the day, they had snacks and beverages (including wine and beer) that you're able to grab on the "honor system." You pay for drinks by writing down what you get and are charged at the end. My bed was pretty comfy and the room was really spacious and homey. It had everything I needed from a small TV, to a table with chairs, plenty of outlets, and basic toiletries. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a charming B&B.

My husband and I had a lovely evening here. Our room, the Earnest Hemingway , had a large balcony overlooking front street. Everything was well appointed and comfy. It was easy to walk around downtown and get to dinner. It also has onsite parking which is easy to use. The rate was reasonable and it was much nicer than staying in a chain hotel.

Really enjoyed our stay in the Georgia o'keeffe room! All of our needs were met, the room was clean and cheerful, breakfast was tasty and leisurely, and Richard was a perfect host. The location can't be beat either! We would gladly return to this charming inn.

I have traveled for work for over 15 years and I might as well stay at a best western or motel 6 if this is these are the conditions I have to pay for Jessyca and Jeane' were great. Both had exceptional personalities, great customer care, attentive, and just a pleasure to speak with. Too bad the hotel rooms dont reflect their "shine". Also, i'd like to bring attention to the Valet person (in the mornings). I do not remember his name, but he was a pleasure as well. Smiling face, warm greetings, remembers your face and offers local suggestions and advice; just a good guy to take care of your vehicle and help enjoy your trip. Lets talk Rooms; 223 to be exact. NObody, should ever stay in this room. For starters, you dont need a key as you can use the "dont disturb" placard on door handle to break in. The door latch works but the door LOCK doesnt. This door has already been broken into, as is apparent by it's appearance. Hotel maintenance is a joke nation wide, but this takes the cake. I've seen better at Holiday Inn Express'. As you open the door, the stale stench of cigarettes greets you, mixed with a vintage neutralizer smell. Ah yes, the luxuries at Hilton. The bathroom door is a "barn door" style (most reduculous addition to ANY hotel) which does not close because of a screw that the hanger comes into contact with. So, privacy is lost, but then again privacy is always lost with these silly doors (ready for this fad to disappear) that never seat close enough to the wall and surely never extend past the opening far enough. Next, I blindly sat some items on the nightstand. As my fingers released and my head turned to look towards the window, my ears were sang a song of everything breakdancing on the floor. I didn't spend anytime figuring out the degree of "slope" on the nightstand, but it doesnt sit at a 90° . In my pictures, the book is flush with the wall. Being me, I thought "lets see if we can fix this or at least remedy it a little bit. Behind me at this point is the corner chase lounge. I nudge the lounge over in an attempt to create some space and...... it falls over . Apparently house keeping or maintenance figured "just propping the 2 broken feet under would be suffice". Not a single screw "or care" were found . Now, this leads our story to the window blinds. As with most rooms they are partially down. Grabbing the chain and giving a gentle yet firm tug, nothing. Maybe I grabbed the wrong chain, so I grab the 2nd chain, pull, and nothing. Glancing up i determine either chain should be causing something to happen. I regrip the chain and pull with angst and finally, it gives. Looking down to reposition my feet i see the A/C units power supply tucked behind the baseboard; another great motel vibe. We'll jump into the next morning for breakfast. As a recovering Cancer patient I was actually "eggcited" for hotel eggs since "eggs" have been the only thing i'd been able to stomach throughout my treatments and process after. Welp, not today. The "top burnt quiche" that was sitting in egg water just didnt do it for me. Neither did the full pan of gray sausage links. Lastly, the tray of potatoes came in for the win. 1 scoop of potatoes and a bowl of oatmeal (that I brought). Hilton is still using "Quaker Oats" which has the highest levels of Glyphosate in their final oat/wheat products which probably also include their cereals. The Juice machine had 3 of 4 nozzles working which, also at this point, feels glorious. I dont recall the fruit situation, I just know I didn't leave with any. After a great time strolling through downtown Wilmington, next time we'll give Embassy Suites a go before switching to Marriots. Shameful when you think about it, how mundane and ran down Hiltons have become.

Also, our room was located right next to the building's vents or HVAC system, which made it incredibly loud throughout the night. Unfortunately, that meant very little sleep. Now for the highlight: John, the bartender at the outdoor bar. He was absolutely incredible and truly the saving grace of our stay. It's no wonder locals come by just to see him and enjoy his creations. These weren't drinks out of a menu--he was making them up on the spot, and they were some of the best I've ever had. January 23 - 25, 2026…read more 4.4 Stars. We stayed in downtown Wilmington for three days at this Marriott hotel. Our first impressions were: great location near everything, professional & helpful staff, small rooms with small fridge, very small luggage carts, provided two water bottles immediately at check in, and affordable parking garage nearby for $10 a night. The gym was in the second floor. Small lobby yet very spacious eating area with a bar, restaurant, and Starbucks coffee area for eating & drinking. We stayed at one of the highest floors with a view of the museum and it was a peaceful & quiet room to sleep in during the night. Hotel staff was very professional & friendly except for one front desk staff with long blonde hair, who couldn't answer my question. When I asked her if she knew any great food places nearby, she stated that she didn't know of any good places to eat because she didn't eat and was under 21 & couldn't drink. I thought it was strange she couldn't offer any helpful suggestions of good nearby food places and wondered what drinking had to do with finding a good place to eat nearby (since I never mentioned drinking). She seemed more focus on herself than on helping suggest good nearby restaurants for guests staying at the hotel. My husband had dealt with her earlier and told me she was annoying. The slim white male with nose piercings at the front desk assisted us the most.He got me a soft blanket and gave us helpful info about the affordable garage nearby instead of using the hotel valet service for $33 a night. Before I left, he gave us two water bottles to take on the road as we departed for our next location. He made sure we had everything we needed during our stay and before we left. Very impressive. We were able to walk to a lot of fun and exciting places downtown in Wilmington or drive to places too far to walk yet near for driving. The Cotton Exchange, Papercut Books, Hidden Grounds Coffee, The Black Cat Shoppe, and the Museum of the Bizarre were some of the places we visited there. The pros of staying here outweighed the cons. I took off 0.6 points off for minor inconveniences like the small cramped room, scratching my hand twice on the cabinet holding the fridge, the empty water bottle left from a past guest under the bed, and small luggage carts. My husband said this Marriott hotel was one of the nicest he ever stayed at with the best staff he ever encountered at the Marriott with one exception. If you plan to stay at this Marriott for a couple of days, I suggest you get a larger room because the king size bed room with a sitting chair & desk with chair was very small yet the only room available. The nearby parking garage is worth parking at and is a quick walk across from the hotel. There are no microwaves in the rooms & a small coffeemaker to use for coffee in the rooms. I had to use a microwave at the lobby to heat my food.

The most annoying part of it all was the small carts for luggage. They only offer the small triangle shaped carts, not the larger style. Otherwise this was the best stay at a Marriott up until we just discovered Carolina Beach. Location was great for the ease of getting to all of the down town sites.

The check-in process is as friendly and informative as it gets. No food or drinks are available on-site, but there's a great convenience market around the corner with anything you might need for the room. Just a few things to know: --If you absolutely must have a silent environment, you may run into a few issues. Also, there are a couple of nightclubs nearby and (on the weekends at least), there was some music carryover noise. --The only TV is upstairs in the sleeping loft; there is not one in the living/sitting area. --Parking is by permit in a lot about a 90-second walk away. You won't have an assigned space, but I didn't have any problems getting one. --No daily housekeeping, but there is a basket with a checklist you can place outside your door if you need something replenished.
